#tag talk#tumblr university#I put my tumblr degree to good use again today. a kid at work talks a lot about exercise and said an offhand comment about fat people#the usual “why do fat people not control themselves better and eat less?” opinion. which like. he's a cool guy. curious and active and kind#so I did my best to not jump on it sjw-style and kind of go at it slowly but still explain that like. you can't just change your default#culturally we recognize that skinny people have genetics that predispose themselves to being thin.#but then when we (general culture) talk about fat people it's “why don't you exercise more and eat less?” “why don't you control yourself?”#there's a hypocritical shift in how people talk about it.#I was like bro.. I can sit around and do nothing all day and eat my normal amount and not gain weight. my whole family can.#so there's clearly something different between people who weigh 250lb and people who weigh 120lb.#anyway. he kinda nodded and mused over it and asked a few questions and like. idk. this is something I learned on tumblr so it was cool#I like sharing information I learned here. it changed how I view people and I'm honored to be able to make that change in other people#I've learnt to be kinder here and spreading it outside of the isolated tumblr bubble is very fulfilling. passing it forward yaknow?#anyway. I'm still mad about my speech impediment because I deadass still wish I could be a teacher in some way#like. I love teaching people things. evolving someone's ability to interact with information and ideas.#giving someone a set of tools and sitting back to see what they do with them. how they solve a problem. I love it.#and I just. ugh. I love the little moments when I get to teach something I've learned to someone else#OH OH OH! I saw a really good parent today! she brought her daughter up to the self checkout registers and I was like “can I help you?”#but the mom was like “no. I want her to learn how to be a big girl” and so they walked up to the register and the kid scanned her stuff and#and then navigated to the “pay now” button and paused and her mom was like “remember to take your time and read the screen” and the kid fou#found the “cash” button and then fed the five dollar bill in and got her receipt and change and. . that moment made me smile so fucking big#like.... the mom being like “take your time” and just.. being there to show her kid how to do an important life task. I wanted to cry.#I just. idk. stuff like that is beautiful. I love working with people so fucking much.#like. idk. I detach really easily so I don't always care about people and human suffering or all that stuff. but other times?#other times I'm both feet flat on the ground rooted into the heart of everything that makes us beautiful social creatures full of love#and it's so beautiful and I feel so fucking lucky to be allowed to watch that moment.#I just. all I can do is smile and hope that my eyes reflect the magic I just saw#also a hoard of small goth middle schoolers came through garden each with their own succulent. they were lead by an older teen.#it was just. idk. cool. funny. this little posse of piercings and bleached hair and nightmare before christmas merch and intense enby vibes#I always hope I represent a future to kids like that. big obvious scars. heavy queer vibes. and a life I'm obviously living.

Okay so Fem!reader shes the product of Mrs.Scrubbit and Mr.Bleacher’s one night stand (they were really drunk) and instead of being like them she is a kind girl and helps the people who are in the Landry shoot and she was there when Willy presented his items and liked him for his silly ideas and Willy saw her and was shock to see a beautiful girl like her and only to see her again after her “parents” imprisoned him and she was there to greet him when he went down the shoot and she apologizes for her parents greed and tries her best to help him (also Mrs.scrubbit is a little nicer to fem!reader because well that’s her daughter but is still cruel to her)

You and Noodle had stopped to watch the man's intriguing show. Scrubbit’s laundry could wait, you thought.
You smiled and laughed when he grabbed your hand, inviting you to try one of his chocolates. He smiled widely at you, and he felt his heart skip a beat when he took a good look at you.
You were beautiful, your smile, everything about you seemed like a dream come true.
You were going to eat it when out of nowhere, the chocolate cartel came. They had tried it, saying they disliked it. They then had started to float in the air, and you and noodle looked in shock at the man.
He tipped his hat to the crowd, and the police soon came, making you and noodle quickly move and go back to your work.
You pushed the cart of laundry around, you both laughed in disbelief.
“That’s the weirdest thing I’ve ever seen.” You said.
“Wait… I think that was the man who came in yesterday.” She realized, you furrowed your eyebrow in confusion. “While you were out, another man, or the one you just saw, came in and signed the contract. I tried to warn him.”
You sighed, shaking your head to yourself. “Another one?”
She nodded, as you both walked then once reached it, brought the laundry down. Then going down with the others.
“So, what happened today?” They always asked after trips outside.
“Not much. We did see one interesting man, but Noodle thinks he signed the contract last night. His name was.. something Wonka." You said, shrugging. Noodle left to go finish up.
Just as you were saying that a man had fallen down the chute and into the laundry. He looked at you all back, confused and lost.
"You must be Mr. Wonka."
"Who are you?" He asked.
"Abacus Crunch. Chartered accountant. At least I was. Now, uh..." He stood up.
"He runs the place. And you best do what he says, or you answer to me." A women interrupted.
"Piper Benz." She offered her hand and helped him out from the laundry. "Plumber by trade."
"This is Miss Lottie Bell."
"She doesn't talk much."
"This is y/n." He motioned to you, you smiled again and he quickly recognized you.
"I liked your ideas. Glad to meet you, properly."
"You too.." he said, a small smile on his face.
"And I'm Larry Chucklesworth, Comedian." Another man said.
"They got you all too, did they?"
"I'm afraid so. We were in need of a cheap place to stay and neglected to read the small print."
"One moment of stupidity followed by endless regret."
He looked around, "There's got to be some way out of here."
"You don't think we've tried? There's bars on the windows, and a dog by the door."
"And even if you could get out, that contract is water tight."
"If you're not here at roll call, she'll call the police and they'll bring you right back, then charge you 1000 for the inconvenience."
He yelped when the dog barked at him, and the others got back to work. You stayed and eyed the man coming down the stairs.
"I can show you around." You said quickly, before Abacus had the chance. "If you'd like."
"Sure..."
"He's on suds." Abacus said, you nodded and led him there.
"I'm sorry, about my parents by the way." You said as you rolled the cart.
He quirked an eyebrow at you. He didn't know who you were talking about.
"I'm sorry?"
"Oh, right. Mrs. Scrubitt and Bleacher are my parents. They'll do anything to get and save money." You said with a frown.
"Their you parents?" He was shocked, it seemed unbelieveable.
"Unfortunately,"
"You're nothing like them. You're..."
You looked at him now, curious as to what he would say now. He swallowed the lump in his throat nervously. "Never mind."
You continued to show him his job there. Then after a while, the whistle was blown. You all headed out, Willy talked a bit about his work, and you told him a bit more about yourself.
Then you were all sent to your rooms, you stayed with Willy, however, when you noticed he wasn't entering. You also saw Noodle coming in and waved to her. She waved back, and you motioned to the room.
"Told you to read the small print." Noodle said. He smiled slightly as he continued to stare out the window.
"Slight problem with that."
"You can't read? You asked him.
"I focus my studies almost exclusively on chocolate."
"I see."
"For everything else, I've relied on the kindness of strangers." He said, his gaze fixed on you as he said the words. You gave him a small smile.
"And look where thats got you." She said.
"This is the staff quarters. I like to decorate them all, makes it feel a lot less prison-y. Here." You said, handing him a small potted plant, the green contrasting to the gloomy room. He smiled at it, looking at it.
"You've got a bed." Noodle said, and he was going to sit on it but it collapsed.
"You had a bed..”
“Desk, and a wash basin/toilet." She continued.
And after a bit of talking between you, Willy and Noodle, you thought of a plan to help him.
“I could sneak you out. During the day, when I take the laundry. She doesn’t look over me so much as she does the others, they trust me.”
“That’s perfect.” He smiled, clapping his hands.
He found himself slowly becoming infatuated with you, not realizing it until the three of you were about to drown in chocolate.
He quickly confessed right before his head went under, and you didn’t get the chance to talk until the three of you were on the floor again.
You both stared at each other for a while, standing close to each other. Your hands reached up to cup his face, your thumb moved some of the chocolate from his lips and you captured his lips in a kiss.
His hands went to your hips, and you both got lost in each other until Noodle cleared her throat.
“Noodle! I forgot you were there.” You laughed nervously, you both turned to her, he was blushing and you could feel you cheeks heating up.

We’re Just Friends
Pairing: Walter Marshall x Hispanic/Latina! Reader
Summary: In this, we will see the friendship between Walter and Y/N and Walter’s first act of protectiveness; let’s face it, it wasn’t his first time punching a man because of Y/N
A/N: If y’all have seen Gilmore Girls, Walter and Y/N will be like Luke and Lorelai in the way that they hang out outside of work. If y’all haven’t, Luke/Walter is known for being grumpy in his place of work and in general. BUT he lets Lorelai/YN who is basically a ray of sunshine on caffeine get away with EVERYTHING. Lorelai/YN call Luke/Walter if they need to rant or need something fixed, they have a good friendship, very “you came, you called”
Tumblr media
Ever since Walter gave Y/N apology cookies, they were closer, they got to know each other. They even started hanging out at friends outside of work which was rare for Walter.
Walter and Y/N could be seen at the mall, shopping for Faye because Walter is clueless about what to get her. They were walking down the aisles at Barnes and Noble.
“How do you not know what to get your daughter, Don Refri?” Y/N asked him.
“I thought that name was for the district.” Walter said.
“That name is for everywhere, Don Refri. Seriously, how do you not know?” Y/N stopped walking and stood in front of him.
“I know what my daughter likes, the only problem is that I don’t know if Angie and her new husband have already bought it for her.” Walter said, looking down at Y/N (I'm 5'3 and a half, yes, my doctor counts the half inch, but Henry is 6'1 so he's pretty tall, whatever height you are, he will still be looking down at you)
“Yeah, divorce makes it harder. I’m Just guessing, my parents are still together.” Y/N said with a smile. (If they are divorced, ignore that last sentence) “How about a funko pop, does she like Marvel?" Y/N said, holding up a Captain America funko pop that was on the shelf.
"I think she is more of a DC fan." Walter said, poking the Superman funko pop on the shelf.
They could even be seen at Y/N's apartment drinking coffee.
"Thanks again for fixing my lock, it was driving me crazy.” Y/N said, giving Walter a pan dulce to drink with his coffee.
“Yeah of course, wouldn’t want you to feel unsafe in the neighborhood.” Walter said.
“Still, you could have come tomorrow but you came tonight, so I appreciate it.” Y/N said.
“It’s a 5 minute drive, you’re close by. What is this, by the way?” Walter asked
“It’s pan dulce, there’s a little Mexican bakery that i like to go to, really good, I gave you a concha.” Y/N said, also taking a bite out of her concha. Walter have it a taste.
“You’re right, it’s really good.” Walter said. They kept talking until Walter finished his coffee and they said goodbye.
The next day, Walter came into the police department with a thermos in hand and an paper bag in the other. He walked over to Y/N’s cubicle and knocked on her desk.
“Good morning, Don Refri, how are you today?” Y/N asked.
“Good morning to you too, Y/N, I’m good, and you?” Walter replied.
“Im good, what’s in the bag?” Y/N asked, she was curious to know what’s inside.
“I went to the coffee shop this morning and got you something. It might not be as good as the pan Dulce from your Mexican bakery, but this coffee shop is Latina owned.” Walter said and Y/N opened the paper bag and saw manteconchas and polvorones.
“Oh my gosh, they look so good, they smell good too, gracias Don Refri, ya te estás calentando.” Y/N said, giving him a hug. Walter hugged back and went to his office while Rachel turned to Y/N with a smirk on her face.
“Walter brought you Mexican pastries? How nice of him, looks like you might be his favorite.” Rachel said.
“Maybe it’s because I’m new, I’m sure the novelty will wear off.” Y/N said.
“Maybe, maybe not. Who knows.” Rachel said, going downstairs.
A week later, Y/N entered the department and it was all chaos, she walked over to Glasgow to see if he could tell her what’s going on.
“Why is everyone acting like my mom when Luis Miguel announced his tour?” Y/N asked.
“Detective Marshall finally found a lead to the guy who’s been trafficking teenaged girls. We got his license plate and planted a tracking device on his van so Walter asked me to see where the van stops and that’ll be this guy’s hide out,” Glasgow explained. A few minutes later, “I found him! He’s in an All Inc Warehouse!”
“Let’s get a move on, we’re finally gonna get this son of a bitch.” Walter said as he grabbed his gun and out on his vest to leave with the other officers.
“What does he mean by ‘finally’? Has this been a tough case?” Y/N said, finally being able to sit at her desk.
“Detective grumpy has been working on this case for a month. It’s been driving him crazy knowing that the guy was still out there.” Rachel said, walking in, sipping her coffee.
“Then I’m glad he’s finally catching him.” Y/N said.
An hour later, Walter walked into the district with the guy in handcuffs. Walter takes him downstairs to put him in a holding cell. He walked back upstairs.
“Y/N, i need to fill out a report, come with me please.” Walter said and Y/N followed him.
“Congratulations on the arrest, Don Refri. How does it feel?” Y/N asked.
“It feels good. How was the Mexican bread?” Walter asked.
“The polvorones we’re really good and the manteconcha was delicious. I saved you a polvorón because you have to try it. Where did you get them?” Y/N asked.
“I got it at Abogados Café.” Walter said. “What does that mean, by the way?”
“Lawyers coffee. Do they have Cuban coffee?” Y/N asked.
“I Don’t know, we can check it some other day.” Walter said.
Hours later, Walter and Y/N were finishing their paper work.
“Hey Don Refri, how do you feel about going to a bar tonight? You don’t have to drink, but I think it’ll be fun. We could celebrate that you finally solved that case! Rachel told me you’ve been working on that shit for a month.” Y/N said as she put on her jacket.
“I Don’t know about that, Y/N.” Walter said.
“Oh come on, it’s not like I’m asking you to get drunk. Let’s just go to a bar, you can play pool with the guys, I can eat some fries. We could go to Brunson’s Pub! Or Skinner’s or Iron Ranger, I don’t care, I just want a night out and I really don’t feel like cooking.” Y/N practically begged Walter as she was holding onto his biceps.
“Fine, fine, we’ll go to Brunson’s, they have more food there, I’ll tell the guys, you can tell Rachel. Group celebration.” Walter said and Y/N was happy. She texted Rachel about going to the pub and Rachel was down.
“Rachel said she’ll be there, what about Matthew and Glasgow?” Y/N said.
“Yeah, they’re coming too. You want me to drive you?” Walter said.
“And leave my car here?” Y/N asked.
“I’ll drive you to work tomorrow, it’ll be fine. This way you can drink as much as you want.” Walter said.
“Jaja, mira que funny eres.” Y/N said. They walked out of the department and got into Walter’s car. Walter put on a random playlist on Spotify. Y/N was looking out the window when she heard a familiar song, “Oh my gosh, I haven’t heard this song in forever. I love ‘colgando en tus manos’, my mom would play it in the house all the time.”
“Yeah, I found a playlist with Spanish songs, thought it would be good, maybe help with my Spanish with us being friends and all.” Walter said.
“You Don’t even know what Carlos Baute is singing right now.” Y/N commented.
“It doesn’t matter, you like this kind of music, right?” Walter asked.
“It reminds me of my life in Miami, before Latin music went mainstream.” Y/N said. They kept talking and listening to music until Walter parked in the parking lot at Brunson’s. They walked in together.
“Hey, look who made it! Detective Grumpy and his sunshine partner.” Matthew said.
“Hey, we’re not at work right now but I’m still your boss, watch it. How much have you had to drink?” Walter asked.
“He had 3 tequila shots.” Glasgow said.
“How did he get here?” Walter asked.
“I took an Uber.” Matthew said.
“Same.” Rachel and Glasgow said.
“Great, well I gotta stay sober because I have to take Y/N home. What do you want to drink?” Walter asked, turning to Y/N.
“I want a ‘bad hombre’ and you should get yourself a beer, we’re celebrating you, you should be able to let loose.” Y/N said.
“All right, I’ll go to the bar.” Walter said and Y/N slid into the booth. Walter came back with a beer, a “bad hombre” which has reposado and mezcal, and an Italian sandwich for Y/N. “Here you go.”
“Thank you, Don refri.” Y/N said. They were all talking and laughing, having a good time but Walter stepped away. “Damn, I’m running low, I’m gonna see of i Can get a beer, be right back.” Y/N said and walked to the bar when bumped into a tall man. “Oh I’m so sorry.”
“Nah, you’re good. Wait a minute, Y/N?” The man said and Y/N looked up to see a familiar face.
“No way, Mitch, how are you? What are you doing here in Minnesota?” Y/N asked as she hugged Mitch (Dylan OBrien) a friend she made back in Virginia.
“My brother Steven wanted to go skiing. You want me to order you a beer?” Mitch asked.
“Yeah, get me a modelo.” Y/N said and Mitch told the bartender to get him two modelo beers. “Well, how’s the CIA treating you?”
“The CIA is fine. Listen, I’m sorry to hear that the FBI didn’t work out for you but maybe you can come back to Virginia and become part of the CIA.” Mitch said.
“I’d love to, but I’m not sure I can cut out as a CIA agent.” Y/N said. They kept talking and Walter got out of the bathroom to see Y/N talking to Mitch. He went back to his booth.
“Who’s that guy?” Walter asked.
“I Don’t know but he’s cute.” Rachel said. Walter went closer to hear their conversation.
“You’d do great. I swear, I would love to work with you.” Mitch said.
“Mitch, honestly, stop insisting, I’m not doing it.” Y/N said. All Walter heard was Y/N telling Mitch “no” so Walter got closer and..
“Didn’t you hear her? She said no.” And Walter decked Mitch, Mitch landing in the floor. Y/N got out of her stool.
“Walter! What did you do?” Y/N asked, facing Walter.
“Wasn’t he bothering you?” Walter asked.
“No! Walter this is Mitch, my friend who’s in the CIA. Mitch, this is Walter.” Y/N said as she helped Mitch off the floor.
“He’s your boyfriend or something?” Mitch asked.
“No, we’re just friends.” Y/N said and Walter walked outside the bar, he needed fresh air. “And he’s technically my boss at the police department. He’s a detective.”
“Well He’s quite protective of you. I should give you my number so we could hang out next time I’m in Minnesota.” Mitch said,
“That would be great.” Y/N said and they exchanged numbers. “It was great seeing you, I gotta talk to Walter.” Y/N walked outside and saw Walter leaning against his car. “What the hell was that in there?”
“Sorry, Y/N, I thought he was just a random drunk harassing you. I didn’t know he was a friend of yours.” Walter admitted.
“You could have asked. Just don’t do it again, okay.” Y/N said,
“I won’t. Are you sure you’re all right? He didn’t try anything?” Walter asked,
“Nah, Mitch is a good guy, he wanted me to ‘try out’ for the CIA but I told him no. Thanks for being protective though, I appreciate it.” Y/N said and she hugged him. “Can we go back inside? I’m kinda cold and this skirt isn’t helping.” Y/N said and Walter chuckled.
“Yeah, we can go back inside.” Walter said, leading her into the pub with his hand on the small of her back.
The End
Hope y’all liked it! i just guessed about the Latina owned coffee shop but then I was looking up coffee shops in Saint Paul and that’s when I found Abogados Café! I looked up the bars and the warehouses because I like my fanfics to be accurate when I’m writing about a state I don’t know anything about. Also, super sorry about the late “update”, I’m finishing up the fall semester and i have so much work to do but I’m procrastinating so…that’s gonna bite me in the ass when the time comes. Storm of Griffins
Summary It was bound to happen. With that thunderstorm outside, Vanessa and Nozel aren't surprised that their daughters rather want to sleep with their parents, secure in mamas and papas embrace.
A/N @kalolasfantasyworld, I just realized that we both have our own ways to call Nozels children, you have Birdies and I have Griffins 💘 Wrote this today for some fluff, for domestic Nozessa with their four daughters and to show Nozel as a father 🦅💜
Ao3 link
♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣
Vanessa touched her baby’s tiny nose a bit, but Cassandra wouldn’t wake up. Nothing seemed to wake her up, despite the loud thunderstorm outside. It was quite fascinating, especially that none of her other daughters had that deep of a sleep when they were babies.
Covering the silver-haired baby with a blanket, Vanessa turned towards her husband, who was standing at the window, observing the thunderstorm.
“Quite the spectacle, isn’t it, honey?”
Nozel just nodded, without turning around. Since he was already ready for bed, he was only wearing his pyjama pants, leaving his upper body naked. Oh, Vanessa didn’t complained about that, on the contrary. Admiring Nozels not buff but well-defined muscles and imagining those toned arms around her was something she got never tired about. But she couldn’t allow herself to be thirsty, since their youngest daughter was present.
“And she really is still asleep?” Nozel finally asked as he turned around.  Gosh, he looked so good with his hair down falling over his shoulders, fluffy, thick and silky, his bangs slightly falling over his eyes, unbraided.
“Don’t worry, this little one has the deepest sleep I ever saw in a baby,” Vanessa smiled while gesturing at Cassandras sleep basket on their bed. “She won’t be afraid of thunderstorms, I’m certain of that.”
“This one is rather heavy, though.”
“Still, Cassandra won’t be afraid. With that, she is more like Nymphea. You shouldn’t be surprised though if Lavinia will run into our bedroom in a few minutes. Maybe Valentina too, but she at least has her twin sister.”
Nozel nodded, while sitting down next to his wife on the bed. A soft smile appeared on his lips as he softly caressed the baby’s cheek. Cassandra didn’t woke up, but a happy baby smile shortly appeared on her face, her dolphin plushie next to her.
Vanessa sighed happily. Cassandra had definitely be a surprise baby. Three daughters was already a blessing for Nozel and her. Not to mention that she had needed to convince her husband a bit to have Lavinia.
Only a bit, though. Nozel enjoyed fatherhood more than he would ever admit. They had feel blessed with Nymphea, Valentina and Lavinia, feeling that their little family was now complete.
But then, Vanessa got pregnant again. A fourth baby had been on the way. A surprise baby, no denying about that. A shock, yes, but more a happy surprise than a reason to worry. Vanessa and Nozel had embraced it, even though they were determined to not have more than four children.
Unlike what most believed, especially the Black Bulls and their bets, it had been another girl instead of a boy. It didn’t matter to Vanessa and Nozel, Cassandra had been another blessing, just like her sisters before her. She was also wilder than their other daughters, when she wasn’t asleep that is.
Their door opening brought Vanessa back to reality. Just one second later, their three year old daughter Lavinia run towards the bed, holding her favourite plushie tightly in her arms. The little barn owl with the pink witch hat Vanessa had made for her on Lavinias first birthday. How time flies by…
Lavinia tried to climb on her parents bed, but sadly was still to tiny for that, her white puffy nightgown with the pink hearts was also a bit too big for her still and she was holding her plushie. Nozel helped her get on and Lavinia immediately went halfway into hiding under her parents blanket.
“Nia, sweetie, is it so scary for you?” Vanessa asked kindly, while she stroked her daughters rosewood coloured hair. She smiled while doing so, Lavinias might have her hair colour, but it was as soft and thick like her father’s.
“Can’t sleep, too scary,” the little girl mumbled, holding her plushie.
“It is just a thunderstorm, Lavinia,” Nozel said, with such a comforting voice that it made Vanessas heart melt. “As long as you are her with us, in this palace, nothing will happen to you.”
“What about monsters?”
“What monsters?”
“Uncle Zora said that when there are storms, there are monsters coming out to scare us.”
Vanessa rolled her eyes. Typical Zora, always trying to be a very cool uncle. But she really should have a talk with him, Lavinia was after all a very shy little girl and for now still easy to scare.
“Was Luck nearby when your uncle talked about those storm monsters?” Nozel asked.
“Yes, papa.”
“Then he was probably talking about Luck, not some storm monsters.”
“Oh. True. Uncle Magna also says that uncle Luck can be like a monster sometimes.”
Vanessa smiled. Oh, she really preferred that than Zora scaring her baby girl because he tried to be a cool uncle.
“But storms are still scary.”
“If you want, you can stay with us and your little sister tonight, Lavinia. So you won’t be alone.”
Vanessa couldn’t help but smile brightly at her husband. Does he realize what a wonderful father he was? He was so worried to end up like his own jerk of a father, he who thought that because of his past mistakes, he would never become a loving parent… But Nozel became a parent like his mother was.
His fatherly side was certainly one of Vanessas favourite traits of him.
The next moment, the door to their chamber opened again and their eight year old twin daughters entered, so adorable in their lavender nightgowns. Valentina was behind her sister, clinging onto her while holding a black cat plushie tightly. Nymphea was more calm, guiding her twin towards the bed, her eagle plushie under her arm.
“Look, Nia. Your two big sisters are now also coming, so that you won’t be alone in the storm,” Vanessa smiled as she caressed Lavinias head, while Nozel helped the twins getting on the bed. Valentina immediately went on her father’s lap and put the blanket above her head. Nozel hold her immediately, giving her a comforting embrace and stroked her hair. Valentina had hair just like Noelle and Acier, but in a brighter shade of rosewood than Vanessas. In the sunlight, she even had some silver highlights, it was truly gorgeous to look at.
“Tina couldn’t sleep,” Nymphea explained calmly, just like Nozel. “And she couldn’t stop moving. Especially when a lightning was seen. So, I brought her here. She only stops moving when one of you is holding her.”
“Good job, little water lily,” Vanessa giggled, while caressing her oldest daughters hair. Unlike her twin, Nymphea had silver hair like her father – with pink highlights in the sun – but wavy and slightly curly like her mother.
“I didn’t want to come!” Valentina protested weakly, coming from out of the blanket for a moment. “I don’t want Lavinia and Cassandra to see me scared, I’m their big sis, I have to be brave!”
Vanessa couldn’t help but giggle at the seriousness. Valentina secretly wanted to come to her parents, but it was true that she wanted to be brave for her little sisters. Currently, she was the most daring of her daughters. Let’s see how Cassandra will grow up.
“Oh, Tina, sweetie, you are very brave and I’m sure that your little sisters know that.”
“Valentina, it is okay to be scared. It is when you can be brave. Sometimes, it takes a lot of courage to admit to be scared.”
“Really, papa?”
“Really. Trust me little one, I know what I’m talking about.”
He really did. More than their daughters even know yet. Vanessa smiled at Nozel and took his hand.
Nozels words seemed to have calm down Valentina a bit. At least, until the next thunder, making her cling to Nozel and to her plushie with fierce.
“It’s okay, big sis, it’s okay,” Lavinia whispered, while still trembling, but brave enough to take Valentinas hand.
“Our baby sister is still asleep, it seems,” Nymphea commented, while looking into the basket with a calm fascination. The resemblance with Nozel was sometimes really obvious, even when she was still a baby. It had irritated a lot of the Bulls back then. And make Yami laugh a lot.
“Really?”
Forgetting their fear of thunderstorms for a moment, Valentina and Lavinia moved a bit to look into the sleep basket. The vision of their little baby sister, sleeping so profoundly while it was so loud outside, seemed to soothe them a bit.
“Cassie is very brave,” Lavinia whispered. She still had some difficulties to say Cassandras full name. Vanessa admitted that it wasn’t the easiest one, but it had been one of hers and Nozels favourite.
“I bet she is going to be afraid of nothing,” Valentina added with pride. Ah, how cute she was being proud of her baby sister.
“I don’t doubt that she will be brave, just like you and your sisters,” Nozel replied with a smile. “But she will be afraid of something as well. Maybe not of thunderstorms like you and Lavinia, but of other things.”
“Like Nymphea is afraid of mosquitos?”
“I have an excellent reason to be afraid of them.”
“Papa, mama, are you also afraid of things?”
“Of course we are, sweetie,” Vanessa giggled. “Papa and I are afraid of various things. Of simple things like you, for example I don’t like spiders. But we are also afraid of things that are more adult stuff. You’re too young yet to know such things.”
“I’m not young, I’m eight, that is old!” Valentina protested!”
“But still too young to have a grimoire,” Nymphea replied calmly. Sounding so much like Nozel. Vanessa couldn’t help but giggle, even more so as she the look in her husband’s eyes as he glanced at Nymphea. A mix of pride and irritation.
Valentina was about to reply when another lightning, followed by loud thunder, cut through the sky. She and Lavinia remembered their fear of storms and both girls dived under the blanket again. Cassandra continued to sleep, while Nymphea was completely unbothered. She was more occupied to stroke her eagle plushie, as if it was invited to some gala and needed to have neat feathers.
Nozel sighed with compassion, before he took Valentina and Lavinia firmly into his arms. The two girls seemed to calm down a bit, hold by their father, while they had a firm grip on their respective plushies.
Vanessa felt her heart melt again at the vision. The most loving father she knew… Okay, she was biased and she loved him deeply, but it was a fact that Nozel was a very loving and very caring father. He could be unsure about it as much as he want, but actions spoke stronger than doubts. Just seeing him like this with Valentina and Lavinia was proof enough.
Smiling happily, Vanessa turned towards Nymphea. “What do you think, little Water Lily? Do you want to cuddle with mama and your eagle friend?”
Nymphea might be the most proper out of her girls, but she never hesitated to cuddle. She got that side from her, that was certain. Nymphea only nodded and moved a bit to make herself comfortable on Vanessas lap. Vanessa pulled her tightly against herself, diving her nose into her daughters silver waves. Just like Nozel, Nymphea had a soft lavender scent. But hers was mixed with a sweet water lily smell.
Which was rather ironic and normal, she was named after those flowers. Who also were the favourites of the late Acier Silva.
“You can sleep with us tonight, little hatchlings,” Nozel said, his voice soft and warm. It was so clear how much he loved his daughters. “There is nothing to be afraid of. Your mother and I are here for all four of you.”
“Will you be there when we’re wake-wake again?”
“Yes, Lavinia. You have my word.”
“Thank you, papa.”
Cradled in his embrace, Valentina and Lavinia soon fell asleep, just as deeply as Cassandra. Nymphea took a bit longer, but Vanessa felt that her eldest daughter was slowly falling back into slumber.
She still whispered softly, with a yawn, “Don’t tell them yet, but I like thunderstorms. I love to think that the noises are either dragons fighting in the sky or giants having battles nearby.”
And she fell asleep as well.
“Do you think we should have a closer look at her reading?”
“Honey, she loves fairy tales and she is already clever enough to recognize what kind of books she can read or not yet.”
Vanessa expected a reply, but Nozel only nodded. His eyes were pensive, but caring, looking at his daughters. And at her.
“Is something, honey.”
“No. I just feel so blessed to have the five of you in my life. Nymphea, Valentina, Lavinia, Cassandra and you… you mean the world to me.”
Vanessa smiled, her heart melting again. She knew that it was never easy for Nozel put this into words, even today it wasn’t always easy. But she also that it came from his heart.
“For me as well, Nozel.”
She kissed him good night and both parents fell asleep as well, their four wonderful daughters slumbering around them. This was their family.

OC X PETER PARKER (GARFIELD)
COLOURS DANCED around her small fingers, reds, blues, greens, yellows all picking underneath her dirtied nails. Her head rested against her desk, and the small canvas layer upon it. Paint covered the side of her face, curling into a few strands of her hair, her dungarees and white shirt also covered in the different tones on her palette. She was a beautiful mess, with the way she was covered in different pigments, the way soft snores left her mouth and the way she looked so peaceful, sat among her art.
Tumblr media
Knocking on the door, Rick Dintolo entered her room, expecting his daughter to be awake in bed or still fast asleep, though it didn't come much of a surprise to the man when he saw his daughter sound asleep at her desk with her art work and materials scattered out around her. A soft small smile crept up onto his lips before he strolled over and gently shook her shoulders, causing the teen to let out a small groan, lifting her head from the canvas, her dark brown hair falling in front of her eyes. When the Dintolo girl saw her father kneeling before her, a small smile passed her face, reaching her hands up to rub her eyes. "Hey, pops." She mumbled into her her palms.
"Mornin' darlin'. You've got paint all over your face." The man chuckled, pulling him the sleeve of his pyjama shirt and wiping away what he could off of her face. Reyna gave him a lazy tired smile as she looked back to her work. "Awe, shit. I ruined my work. It's smudged." Rick shook his head as he looked down at the painting. "I think it's gorgeous, really detailed, the smudge is actually pretty cool. A few colours throughout the stream, it's beautiful but you've got school so come one. Grab a shower and your mom is making some amazing waffles, oh and Gwen is coming by soon." He stood up and pressed a small kiss to the crown of her head before walking out of the room. Reyna tilted her head as she looked back down at the painting, it was a small cottage in the middle of nowhere, a large weeping willow and a stream right next to it. The more she looked at it, the more she realised her dad was right, the colours added a nice touch to it. She made her way to the bathroom quickly turning the tap on and jumping in, allowing the warm pool to fall over her body and allow her an extra few minutes of peace before she was off with her day.
STROLLING IN, Reyna held her school bag and her portfolio filled with small sketches and what not. As she walked into the kitchen, the smell of waffles and coffee hit her nose, she sighed solemnly, the smell quite peaceful, she could see her parents chatting at the table, the two sat eating their breakfast and reading the paper. "Hey, mama bear." Reyna walked around to her mothers side and kissed her cheek. "Hey, baby. Loving todays outfit." Reyna chuckled and shook her head at her mother. The woman had always found Reyna's clothing style great, different to her own but loved it either way, Monique wore many pink colours and bright colours, whereas Reyna preferred darker colours. "So, pops says you where up all night painting. Wanna show me what you've been creating?" Monique wore a large grin, Reyna popped her portfolio up on the space of the breakfast counter before pulling out the canvas that she'd been working on. Her mother sat there inspecting the piece and commenting on how incredible she thought it was until the door bell rang.
"I'll get it." Rick stated, grunting slightly as he set down his mug and made his way over to the front door. At the front of the house stood Gwen Stacy, waiting for her best-friend. "Ahh, Gwen! Good morning! Why don't you come on in? We've got some extra waffles and coffee." Gwen smiled at the man, quickly thanking him and walking in to the Dintolo family's kitchen. "Good morning, Ms. Dintolo." Gwen flashed her pearly whites as Reyna's mother stood up and brought the girl into a quick side hug. "Gwen, sweetheart, just call me Monique." The older woman chuckled as she placed out some waffles and a cup of coffee for the Stacy girl. Reyna grinned as the blonde strutted over to her. "Hey Stacy." Reyna winked playfully, as Gwen stood behind her chair, wrapping her arms around the dark haired girls shoulders. "Morning gorgeous." The teens both chuckled before Gwen took a seat next to Reyna leaning on her shoulder, thanking Monique as she slid the plate of waffles over to her. Gwen moaned in delight as she ate the waffle, "Oh, these are amazing." She stuffed more into her face, the Dintolo family chuckled and giggled at Gwen as she continued eating, though none of them could blame her Monique's food really was incredible, Rick had once said she should have been a baker or chef.
"You girls better be off soon, don't want to be too late for school." Reyna and Gwen nodded as they finished up eating, the girls grabbing their bags and heading out of the door but they where interrupted. "Oh, Rey, you should speak to that boy we were talking about." Reyna groaned at her mothers comment and turned her head to Gwen, who wore a large smirk as she squinted her eyes at her best-friend. "Does this boy so happen to be Peter Parker?" Gwen giggled slightly as the pink headed girls cheeks went a crimson pink. She turned back to her parents, her mom smiling proudly and her dad with a confused face. "Ahhh, so that's his name?" Monique grinned also. "Okay, that's enough, bye mom, bye dad, love you both! Have good days at work!" Reyna smiled as she pushed Gwen out of the door, the two girls giggling.
"A boy?" Rick mused with wide eyes and a look of uncertainty. Monique shook her head at her husband, she knew this was exactly how he'd react when he found out his precious daughter had a crush, but most importantly a crush she'd kept for a good while. "Yes, dear, a boy, who she has liked for a very long time, so do not go getting any ideas." Monique warned in her motherly voice. "I won't, I promise. But I wanna meet this kid someday." Rick squinted his eyes at the place his daughter had just been stood.
CHATTERING FILLED their ears as Gwen and Reyna walked through the school halls, linking their arms whilst Gwen listened to Reyna talk about some place they should go so that the girl could take pictures. "I should take some of you." Reyna grinned as she nudged Gwen playfully. "Yeah... absolutely not." Gwen giggled and shook her head. "Oh, come on! You, Miss Gwen Stacy are absolutely gorgeous and overall perfect." Reyna smiled as she tried to convince the blonde, "besides I need some more pictures to put up in my room." She added, though when she turned to Gwen, her attention was on someone else. Gwen had spotted Peter Parker putting up a few pictures across the hallway.
"Gwen." Reyna waved her hand in front of  her face trying to get her attention. Gwen snapped out of her thoughts and turned to the brunette with a large grin. "Okay, I'll do it." Reyna thanked her but she was quickly cut off. "On one condition." Gwen added with a wicked yet playful smile.
"Oh, that's never good." Reyna muttered as they stopped at Reyna's locker, the teen quickly sorting her books out. "Oh, shut up. I'll only do it if you go speak to your boyfriend over there. Even if it's just for a single minute. Deal?" Reyna's eyes had gone wide at the request, peering over at the boy himself, a small smile resting on her face before she turned back to Gwen. She sighed before replying, "Okay, fine, deal." Gwen cheered quietly, before she nudged Reyna over to him. She stumbled slightly and turned back to glare at Gwen, though she only smiled and gave her a thumbs up. Reyna consoled herself before she strolled over to the doe eyed boy.
"Mornin' parker." Reyna Dintolo's flirtatious voice rang out in Peter Parker's ears. He turned to see her leant against the wall right next to him, his heart thumped in his chest, his palms went slightly sweaty and his face reddened. "Hi." He breathed out, slightly awe struck as he stared at her, "I-I mean good morning. Sorry that's what I- erm that's what I meant." Peter stumbled over his words. "Don't worry about it. So, what are you putting up here." Reyna tried to start a conversation as she looked towards the pictures that he was putting up. "Oh- oh, erm- jus-just some clubs from school. Debate team, erm, a few others, you know. Your- erm, I mean your on the track team one. Which- which you obviously knew- well I mean, you knew that-" Peter was cut off when Reyna started to giggle slightly. "You're a stuttering mess, you know that?" Reyna smiled at him as he blushed furiously. "I'm really sorry." He muttered as he looked down at the floor and tried to look anywhere but her eyes as she spoke up. "Don't be, it's kinda cute." Peter looked back up, a small smile creeping onto his face as he chuckled slightly before looking down and taking a picture before putting up another picture.
Out of nowhere a ball came flying at Peters head, hitting him in the face, Reyna's eyes widened before she looked over his shoulder seeing Flash Thompson with his little minions laughing at Peter. Reyna didn't know why but anger bubbled in her chest as she stared at them. "Sorry." Flash apologised sarcastically, as himself and his friends walked past the two, all of them still laughing. "Morning Flash." Peter just raised his chin at the boy before turning to look at Reyna. "Good morning, parker."  Flash trailed behind his group, catching a second to pretend to jump at Peter, the brunet flinching back, Reyna rolled her eyes at the jock. "Fuck off, Flash." She snarled at the boy, his friends 'oohed' at her, looking at Flash. "Well, morning to you too, tweaky." Flash pretend to seize up, his friends all copying him, Reyna's head dropped at their actions, all of them laughing as they walked away. Peter looked down at Reyna sadly before putting a hand on her shoulder. "You alright?" He asked solemnly. "Oh, erm yeah, it's fine, I'm fine. I'll see you later I guess." Reyna walked away as fast as she could, walking in to the girls bathrooms.
Gwen Stacy had seen what Flash and his friends had done, and when she saw her best-friend rushing to the bathroom, she rushed straight after her, offering Peter a small smile on her way in. "Rey?" Gwen spoke softly, seeing her best-friend with her hands placed on the bathroom counter, bent over it. "Don't worry, I'm good." Reyna tried to reassure the Stacy, but failed terribly when her voice cracked. She looked up and Gwen caught sight off the slightly runny mascara, Gwen sighed before walking into one of the stalls and grabbing some tissues, walking back out and over to Reyna, cupping her face with a smile and brushing a small strand of dark hair behind her ear. She turned the tap on and wet the tissue slightly before dabbing it under the Dintolo girls eyes. "You know, just because you have a condition that's deadly, it doesn't change you as a person. Yes, you might have seizures and yes you might have to take a lot of medication but it doesn't make you any less of a person. You are talented, Rey." Gwen smiled, whilst Reyna sniffled with a small sad smile. "You are so, so talented, Reyna. Your art is incredible, your extremely smart, nearly as smart as me." Reyna chuckled at Gwen's comment before the blonde continued. "Your photography is amazing, you are absolutely stunning and you are the bestest friend I could ever ask for." They smiled at each other and Gwen brought Reyna back into her embrace.
"I adore and love you dearly, Gwen Stacy." Gwen giggled and playfully kissed Reyna's cheek. "I also adore and love you dearly, Reyna Dintolo."
The two walked out of the bathroom linking arms, and smiled as they laughed at something the other had said, and even though they didn't know it, in the distance, Peter Parker watched them. Mainly Reyna, watching as they smiled and lived happily, he let out a breathy chuckle himself before holding up his camera and snapping a picture of the two of them, smiling as he looked back at it.
He knew he liked her.

All of us walked up the driveway, Denki, myself, Dad and Pops going to Sota's smaller birthday party. Hitoshi opted to stay home for the day, not particularly looking to come to a one year olds birthday party and I couldn't really blame him.
"Why were we invited?" Dad asked tiredly as we got to the door.
"Shikadai said something about wanting to be apart of my life and he thought this would be a good way to get to know everyone better and be on good terms on both ends. I wasn't expecting you guys to actually take him up on the offer." I said and Dad sighed. "Correction, I wasn't expecting Pops to take you both up on that offer." I said and knocked on the door. Azuna opened it quickly and brought me into a hug, immediately making my skin crawl.
"It's so nice to see all of you again. Where's your brother?" She asked me, ushering all of us into her parents house.
"He was feeling a little under the weather and figured he'd stay at the dorms for the night." I bullshitted, but she quickly believed it.
"Well I hope he feels better. Aizawa, Yamada, it's nice to see you both again. And Kaminari, I'm glad you could make it." She rambled on almost nervously.
"Thank you for inviting us." Pops said and she smiled warmly, leading us back to the living room.
"Yuto! Can you bring Sota out here? I'm sure he'll be happy to see Onryo." She yelled back somewhere. Shikadai rounded the corner first and gave me a hug. I awkwardly hugged him back, but he seemed enthused that I even did that much.
"Hey, kid. Long time no see." He said jokingly and I let out a tense laugh.
"Yeah, it's been ages." I mumbled. "Hi Ren, hi Keiko, it's nice to see you both again."
"Oh, hello dear. Kaminari, you look lovely today."
"Thank you, Keiko. You look radiant as ever." He said with a warm smile, helping her up out of her seat. She gave him the grandma pat on the arm and came over to me.
"You better hold on tight to that one, he's a keeper." She told me and I laughed under my breath.
"I'll definitely hold onto him."
"Azuna, dear, would you mind helping me in the kitchen?" She asked her daughter and she happily followed.
"Please, have a seat, no need to stand." Shikadai said, somewhat rushed. Denki took a seat on the couch, Pops sat on the other end while Dad stood next to him. I was going to sit until I saw Yuto come in with Sota, the one year old quickly made grabby hands towards me. His Dad set him down and he came waddle running towards me and I let him fake tackle me to the floor. His never ending giggles seemed worth it though.
"Happy birthday, Sota." I said and he giggled, clapping as I spoke. "Well, he seems to know what that means."
"He's been hearing it all day, I'd hope he's grasped what it means by now." Ren said jokingly.
"Yeah, and uh, I'm sorry, for how I handled things at his birthday party. I should've gone about it in a better way." I said awkwardly, Yuto shot me a dirty look but everyone else seemed to just wave it off.
"She's going to rehab soon." Yuto said dryly and I slowly nodded.
"I'm glad she's getting help." I said softly and he scoffed.
"I think given the high emotions, you handled it as well as you could. You handled it better than most of us would've in my opinion." Shikadai said and I gave him a small smile.
"So, Aizawa, Yamada, you're both teachers. Are your students giving you any grief this year?" Ren chimed in, redirecting the conversation skillfully while I played with Sota, the baby babbling and pterodactyl screaming while he gave me a multitude of high fives.
"My students tend to. Our son likes to give us the most scares, however." Dad said and I awkwardly smiled.
"Love you."
"I'm an english teacher, so my main difficulty is just getting everyone to understand what I'm saying."
"Is that why Onryo and his brother are fluent in english?" Ren asked and Pops nodded.
"Onryo wanted to learn english at a young age. One day, him and I were having some extra lessons and Hitoshi asked if he could start learning, too. They both picked it up so fast, we were really proud of them."
"Kaminari, how's your english?" Shikadai asked him and he froze up.
"I'm probably the worst in the class. Onryo's really helped me a lot though, so my grade has gone up."
"That's great. I can't speak a lick of english, so you're already doing better than me. I never had an ear for languages, but I certainly had a hand for them." Shikadai said, Kaminari and Pops laughing at his dad joke. "I'm glad someone here thinks I'm funny."
"Shikadai, would you mind getting the door?" Ren asked, most of us looked at him confused, but he agreed. "I don't think I should have some of the best ears here, that seems a little concerning." Ren said sarcastically, making me laugh.
"Mom, Dad, you remember Onryo and his boyfriend, Kaminari. These are Onryo's parents, Aizawa Shouta and Yamada Hizashi. Aizawa, Yamada, these are my parents, Raiden and Azami." Dad and Pops got up, Pops more made Dad get up with him, but when Pops went to bow, Raiden waved his hand.
"None of that formal crap. We're too old to be worried about that. It's great to finally meet you both." Pops stared at him, shell shocked and Dad gave him a pointed look that was subtle enough for everyone else to miss. "You look like you've seen a ghost." Raiden said and Pops fixed his face.
"Sorry, I just wasn't prepared for any major resemblances." Pops said bashfully. "We've always had the running joke that he was my carbon copy, and he looked a lot like his late Uncle. Hitoshi has always resembled his Dad, and was always his carbon copy. It's just, a bit of a shock to see so much resemblance."
"Genetics will do that. All three of us got the same quirk and matching hearing aids to go with it. Was a hero myself back in my day." He said proudly and I looked at him in disbelief. "The people weren't a fan of the fact that I could make some ears bleed, so I was always lower ranking until I got on disability. I suffered from a TBI, so I took the settlement and made a house for my beautiful wife." He said and gave Azami a kiss on the cheek. "Check this out." He said and showed Dad and Pops the pictures he showed Denki and I. "Unfortunately, it looks like I gave those two my height. My bio father was over six feet tall."
"What was your hero name?" Denki asked.
"I was very original. I was the sound hero, Sound Wave." He said proudly and Azami patted his arm.
"There there, dear. Don't throw your back out now." Dad and I laughed a little at the interaction.
"Do you want a very exalting moment?" I asked and everyone looked at me curiously. I grabbed my phone and called Izuku with a video call, after three rings he answered. "Hey, Zuku, I have a random question. You got a minute?"
"I was just finishing up my homework, what's up?"
Can you hear him?
Raiden gave me a thumbs up and I turned back to my phone.
"Have you ever heard of the pro hero Sound Wave?" I asked and he paused for a minute.
"Yeah, he wasn't a really high ranking hero but he had a quirk pretty much identical to yours, I figured that was where you got the name of your quirk for. He was active probably, shoot, forty years ago? His most notable fight was in Nagano at Lake Suwa, he made a tidal wave out of the lake with his sound waves that completely disoriented the villains and gave him the big edge he needed to win." I looked at Raiden and he looked near tears, jaw slacked and a hand on his heart. "He ended up getting really overshadowed with all the heroes rising because he would've been in the second generation to do so and All Might coming in overshadowed a lot of smaller heroes coming into the job outside of the top twenty maybe. I don't know what happened but I know he got injured and he was out of commission after only a decade max. I know a lot of people painted him in a bad light because he also made people's ears bleed. Why do you ask?"
"Cause I found out, he's my bio grandpa. Say 'hi', I think you just made his day." I said and walked over and got him in frame. He waved happily to my best friend, a bright smile on his face.
"Oh my gosh! It's really you! You- You were one of the first few heroes I researched when I started researching the origin of heroes and when they started becoming popular, you had such a unique fighting style! It's amazing to be able to meet you!" He rambled, making Raiden smile wider.
"Azami, Shikadai, do you hear this? This little green haired boy knows who I am! I'm Kodoku Raiden, it's a pleasure to meet a friend of Onryo's."
"I'm Midoriya Izuku, sir!"
"Loosen up, son. I won't burst your ear drums, I'll leave that to your friend here."
"Right!"
"He's a bit of a fanboy, he won't loosen up for quite some time." I said and Izuku froze up.
"Well then, I'll let you get back to your homework. Thank you. Hopefully I'll be able to meet you one of these days." Izuku said his goodbyes and I hung up the phone. "It's been decades since someone said they knew who I was in my glory days."
"I figured if anyone would know, it'd be him. He's basically a search engine when it comes to heroes. Can you guess who his favorite is?" I asked sarcastically.
"All Might?" Shikadai asked sarcastically with an eye roll. Pops and I broke out laughing, Sota found it hilarious and started laughing too. "Didn't realize that was hilarious." He said after a moment and I tried to catch my breath.
"It's not- Oh my gosh- I need to stop laughing! Where's Hitoshi when I need him!" I said while laughing harder. "Nobody in our family likes All Might! I almost got him fired!" I managed to explain, Shikadai soon joining in on the laughter. Azuna and Keiko came back in, confused as to why half of us were laughing.
"Serves the bastard right. He's full of himself." Raiden said, only fueling our laughter.
"Raiden, be nice." Azami said lightly. "Even though he's a crap wagon, we should still be nice."
"I'd say those are fairly nice words, I could say plenty worse about him." Dad said, making everyone let out some form of laughter.
"Should I ask what we walked in on?" Azuna asked.
"They're all bonding over their hatred of All Might." Denki explained.
"Ass Might." I coughed out, not being too discreet. "Wow, did someone hear something?"
"No, I don't believe I did." Raiden said, taking out a hearing aid and scratching his head.
"So, how did you almost get him fired?" Ren asked.
"You never really did go into that, all I know is that he was suspended from teaching and was made an aid for a while." Denki said.
I picked up Sota and sat on the couch between Denki and my Pops, Sota contently sat on my lap as I explained everything as to why I didn't care for him. Only sparing a few of the gruesome details of the final exam. I had a feeling nobody wanted to hear about how I broke quite a few bones that day.
"Why does Midoriya like him so much? Isn't that like, against bro code?" Denki asked and I sunk into the couch.
"He started idolizing All Might since before he could properly talk. We met in junior high. Also there's the fact that All Might's his main mentor outside of my Dad." I said and he hummed.
"That makes a lot more sense." He mumbled.
"Did all of you really sit out here and just... bond over disliking the previous number one hero?" Azuna asked and we all nodded.
"And made Raiden's day. My best friend knew about him being a hero." I said and she hummed.
"I wasn't involved in that." Yuto said and that's when I realized that he had been watching me like a hawk.
"Excuse me, I have to go to the bathroom." I said softly and set Sota on the ground near his toys.
I took a moment in the bathroom after I was done with my business, needing a minute to wipe the feeling of someone staring off of my body. I splashed my face with some cold water and took a deep breath. I understood fully well why Yuto wasn't enthralled with me. I got his sister in law sent to rehab. Let alone how I went about it. I was pulled out of my thoughts when I saw the door crack open. Denki had one hand on the handle and the other over his eyes.
"Babe? You okay in here? Can I open my eyes?" He asked.
"You can open your eyes, I'm decent." I told him, leaning against the sink counter top.
"I knew you wouldn't really hear me knock unless I banged on the door and I didn't want to freak you out. You okay?" He asked softly, one of his hands reaching out to hold one of mine.
"Yeah, just, I needed a minute away from being stared down. I can tell Yuto isn't too happy with me and I don't blame him, I just hope he realizes that if he crosses a line, he'll have to deal with my parents. I more wish that he would just talk to me about what happened and ask me what he wants instead of just glaring at me." I explained and he nodded along, seeming to understand what I meant.
"That makes sense. Maybe you could pull him aside and ask him what his deal is." He suggested, his voice still quiet.
"That's a pretty good idea." I mumbled and he rubbed his thumb back and forth across the back of my hand. I took a deep breath and let my head fall to his shoulder, my eyes falling shut. We stood there in silence for a moment, my social battery recharging ever so slightly.
"Ready to get back out there?" He finally asked and I nodded, standing up straight. He pressed a gentle kiss to my forehead and we walked out, most of them were talking amongst themselves, seemingly getting along.
Everything okay? Dad asked me and I nodded.
Yeah. He sent me a cautious look but dropped it.
"I think it's great that all of you know sign language." Keiko said, breaking any tension. "When Shikadai came into the family, Ren and I tried our hardest to learn, but we just couldn't wrap our brains around it. Azuna seemed to take our genes on it, as well."
"It was one of our largest concerns when we had kids, that they wouldn't be able to learn sign language. But Hitoshi and Onryo both knew sign language when we adopted them, so that took away our fears completely." Pops told her and Keiko smiled softly.
"When Shiroka started dating Shikadai, he told us about his hearing already starting to fade. Yuto and Shikadai learned together actually, such a sweet friendship, they really motivated each other." She explained.
"I tried learning but I was horrible. Honey, what signs did I mix up the one day?" Azuna asked, turning to her husband.
"I believe you accidentally said 'shit you' instead of 'I love you'." He said and we all giggled a bit.
"Yep, so that was when I gave up. Even after when I would try, I always mixed up some signs and it ended horribly. Even when I tried to learn English, it was just atrocious." She said.
"We just have ADHD wordplay, sign language edition." Denki said, making Pops and I laugh.
"Shit, I didn't mean to give you my ADHD." Shikadai mumbled, making me laugh more.
"What was your best ADHD wordplay moment?" Pops asked him and Shikadai gestured to his parents, both of them already excited about this.
"One time, he couldn't remember the word for thirsty." Azami started, a wicked grin on her face. "Shikadai, dear, tell them what you called it."
"Water hungry." He mumbled. "It's been over twenty years and I still haven't lived that down." He admitted.
"I have a few of those. Inside sun control."
"The light switch?" I nodded and he cracked a smile.
"Yep, my brother still hasn't let me live it down." I told him and he laughed a bit.
"Good one."
"Dinner's ready, Azuna, Yuto, would you both mind helping me set the table?" Keiko asked gently, slowly standing up and heading to the kitchen.
We all eventually sat down, said our thanks and started eating.
"So, you both are teachers, what's that like?" Shikadai asked, signing as he spoke.
"Torture." Dad lamented and I gave him a bright smile.
"It's eventful some days, just like any job I'd assume. I like being able to see my family while I'm at work, it's an added bonus." Pops said, the two of us nodding along.
"I'm a homeroom teacher for one of the hero courses, so I only work with twenty one students a day, but some of them like to be problem children." Dad grumbled and I smiled at him again.
"In my defense, Izuku would be a lot worse if I left him to his own doing's. At least I reign him in a bit." I pointed out and he nodded.
"I work with all classes and all grades for the most part since I'm an english teacher."
"I was a teacher for many years, I taught elementary school and some of those kids were little heathens." Keiko said with a small huff.
"That sounds debilitating." Dad said and she sighed.
"It was, there were days where I wanted to just up and quit. But I stuck to my guns." She said and Dad nodded, the glint in his eye showing the bit of respect he had gained for her. "I retired about ten years ago, though."
"I don't think I could ever be a teacher." I mumbled, the profession seeming more intimidating and daunting than hero work.
"Me neither." Denki said and I nodded.
"Why do you think I went with hero work?" Raiden asked sarcastically.
"So, Shikadai, what do you do for work?" Pops asked, diverting the topic of interest off of them.
"I work in IT. Computers always seemed interesting to me and the added bonus is I can work from home if I'd like."
"That sounds like a blessing." Dad commented.
"It can be, it's definitely infuriating at times, especially when it comes to dealing with people who know nothing about technology." Shikadai sighed. "However, it is nice being able to make my own schedule. The only time I don't get to, is if I have to be in the office for a meeting."
"Sho, you're not switching to IT. You wouldn't have the patience." Pops told him, resting a hand on his and Dad sighed.
"Fine." He grumbled.
"Yuto, what do you do?" Pops asked, Yuto looked at him uninterested and let out a sigh. Dad shot him a look, clearly perturbed at how he had been acting today.
"Yuto, just tell them about your job. Relax." Azuna softly chided, patting his hand with her own. He scoffed and stood up rather abruptly.
"I'm not doing this. I'm not gonna sit here and play pretend to make you happy. I need a smoke. Excuse me." He practically stormed out and the atmosphere completely shifted.
"I'm sorry about him, I don't know what's gotten into him today." She mumbled and I slowly stood up.
"I uh, I think I'm gonna go talk to him. At least try and make amends after last week." I awkwardly said and Azuna stood up, gave me a brief hug and sat back down. I slowly and cautiously walked in the direction he did until I found the door to the back porch. "Yuto? Can I talk to you?" I asked gently, he let out a loud sigh but gestured to one of the chairs as he took a drag of his cigar. I stood on the other side of him, opposite of where the wind was blowing the smoke and he rolled his eyes.
"What? Scared of a little cigar?"
"No, just don't wanna set off my asthma if I can help it." He slowly nodded. "I uh, noticed that you haven't exactly been happy today, especially with me."
"Yeah, well why the fuck would I be?" He snapped and I sucked in a breath through my teeth.
"I want to make amends, or, at the very least, be on decent terms with one another." He rolled his eyes and took another drag.
"It's too late for that, kid. You don't seem to be able to understand the damage that you caused." He said through gritted teeth.
"I'm sorry. For how I went about it. I- I let my emotions get the better of me. I should've pulled you and your brother to the side and voiced my concerns. I could have and should have gone about it differently, and I'm sorry that I didn't." I told him honestly, the guilt starting to ease ever so slightly.
"Yeah. You shouldn't have put that target on her back. You shouldn't have even mentioned it to anyone. You don't seem to realize how much you screwed up her life with a single accusation." My eyebrows furrowed and I tried to process what he said.
"Are you saying I should have just let her take my medication?" I asked, baffled at what he seemed to be insinuating. He shrugged and took another drag of his cigar. "Wow." I scoffed and he glared at me.
"She's not like your mother, and that's how you keep trying to paint her to be." My jaw set in place, his tone alone was venomous.
"Shiroka is not my mother. I have made that very clear. Unless Azuna told you what happened, then you don't know the half of what she's done to me."
"That's my problem. You want to make amends so bad, be on decent terms and all this? Fine. You want to be a part of this family, then admit to who your family really is. You have a mother and a father, just like everyone else and just like you're supposed to. Blood is thicker than water." He spat, the cigar now in the ash tray, his arms crossed over his chest as he stared at me.
"The blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb. If you're going to try and lecture me, I advise you don't cut out the important details of what you're saying. I have two Dad's. I have a brother. I have a myriad of aunts and uncles and relatives. I didn't even know I had biological family outside of Shiroka until two months ago. It's been a major change and adjustment. Shiroka lost her right to ever be called my mother. She tortured me. She broke half of the bones in my hand. She stalked me. I'm still trying to recover from what happened. I'm not saying that Suzu is the same as Shiroka, but she has a problem, it just happens to be one of the same ones." I said and I saw something flash through his eyes and puzzle pieces fell in place. "You knew. Maybe not all along, but you knew about it for a while."
"I thought I could help her. She was doing better. She just had a slip up." He said, the wall he put up starting to crumble.
"She got better at hiding it. There's only so much you can do to help a person who doesn't want help. Once she gets sober, maybe she'll have a clearer state of mind and will be more committed to staying clean. That's not on you, though." I told him and he shook his head.
"She doesn't need a rehab facility." He said and I looked at him sadly.
"It could help her a lot. There's a difference between the help you want and the help you need. She might want your help and her husbands help because it's easier, it's family, she has more control. But a controlled facility where she's made to face the reality, it might be what she needs."
"You wouldn't get it, you're just a kid." He mumbled, leaning against the railing. I moved next to him, standing the same way.
"I tried to kill myself when I was twelve. I was done. I was found and rushed to the hospital before anything could happen. Even after that, there were times where I still wanted to end it all. To give up. Some of those thoughts were serious. I didn't want help. But I needed it. I hated myself for a long time because I still had thoughts and I still wanted to hurt myself even after I saw the looks on my parents faces when I woke up in the hospital." I told him solemnly. "It wasn't until the building collapsed on me that I had my major wake up call. I thought I was going to die, and my heart stopped twice on the table. At that point, I wasn't actively trying or planning anything, but it made me realize that I wanted to live. So yeah, I'm just a kid, but I get it."
"You had a building collapse on you?"
"It was more an old yakuza planted bombs and tried to kill me but failed, but yeah." He huffed out a breath and stood up a little straighter.
"I just wanna see her be okay." He told me and I nodded.
"I get it. She's not like Shiroka, but she needs the help that she never got." He licked his lips and took a deep breath.
"She used to be really good friends with her and Azuna." He told me.
"I kinda already put together that she got Shiroka started on drugs." I told him and he looked at me confused. "I can read people. I can also tell when most people are lying. I freaked out your wife with it, too."
"Right, the whole uh, curious or cross checking thing." He said and I nodded.
"Yeah." I slowly stood up and got ready to go back inside. "I'm gonna head back in. Take your time to collect yourself."
"Can you ask Azuna to come out here?" He asked.
"Yeah, I'll ask her for you." I said and grabbed the door handle. "And just so you know, if you ever try and disrespect my family like that again, you'll regret it." I told him and walked back inside. I took a deep breath before walking back to the kitchen. Everyone looked at me, all with different emotions on their faces. "Uh, Azuna, he was wondering if you could go out there for a few minutes." I said and she nodded. I outreached my hands for Sota and she let out a deep breath, clearly relaxed at that aspect. I sat him on one of my legs and alternated between taking a bite of food and giving him a bite of his purée blend stuff. It looked like mushed carrots.
"You seem to be a natural with kids." Keiko said, pulling my attention away from my fork that I was grabbing.
"I've had a few people tell me that. So, yeah, I- I guess I am." I managed to get out and she smiled at me sweetly.
"It's a good trait to have." She told me and I returned the smile.
"Just wait, with the color of his purée, next thing you know he'll be trying to eat our hair." Shikadai remarked and I couldn't help but laugh. Sota was laughing too and I noticed Pops take a picture.
"Keiko's right, you've always been a natural with kids. You're the main person to get Kota to smile." Pops said and Denki nodded in agreement.
"Who's Kota?" Raiden asked.
"I think I got this." Denki said and I couldn't stop my smile as he started thinking about it. "Mandalay and the rest of the Wild, Wild, Pussycata are honorary relatives..?" He paused and turned to me, I nodded and he gained some more confidence. "Kota is.. Mandalay's cousins son, his parents.. passed in the line of duty, so he's Onryo's honorary nephew."
"That's a lot." Raiden mumbled and I nodded. "So why are you the only one to really get this kid to smile?"
"As you can imagine, Kota has had it rough and grief is still new for him. Onryo more managed to connect with him on a level that not many of us have been able to despite our efforts." Dad explained as gently as he could.
"Well, it's good that he has Onryo in his life." Kazumi said softly.
"We're all thankful for that, I believe." Dad confirmed.
We all eventually moved out to the living room and it didn't take long for Sota to fall asleep on me. His breathing steadied out and I felt his body weight drop. Denki's eyes were focused on me, a faint blush stained on his face and I looked at him confused but he only blushed more.
"It looks like he wanted to take a nap." Azuna said as she stood in the doorway to the living room. "Do you mind putting him in his pack and play? I'd take him off of you, but I don't want to chance waking him up. He's been fighting nap time this whole week." I nodded along to what she said and slowly stood up, an arm under his thighs and a hand cradling the back of his head.
I followed her to his play room and carefully laid him down. I waited, holding my breath in hopes that he would stay asleep and I let out a breath in victory when he only stretched but otherwise, enjoyed his nap.
"Thank you. That takes a weight off of me, he's been a terror at nap time lately. Looks to be he's falling back into a rhythm though."
"Sleep is a mysterious thing that we all need." I said and she nodded.
"While I have you here, I got some of those pictures you asked for." She whispered and I looked at her excited. She handed me an envelope and I gingerly opened it, almost hesitantly.
I let out a stuttered breath as I saw pictures I never thought could even exist. I flipped through the sonogram photos, all appropriately marked for how far along the pregnancy was until I saw pictures from the day I was born. Emotions I could never have prepared myself for hit me like a brick.
There was a picture of me screaming and crying, a dusting of topaz hair sitting on my otherwise bald head. A picture of me sound asleep in one of the cribs in the hospital with my baby blanket swaddled around me. There were a few others thrown in there and I didn't bother trying to stop the tear from falling down my face.
"Thank you." I whispered as I pulled Azuna into a hug, clearly shocking her at the action but she didn't object.
"You're welcome, and if you're getting emotional, I'm sure your parents are going to be just as choked up, even your stone cold Dad." She said and I laughed a little. "We better get back out there. So if you want these to be a surprise, I suggest you hide them." I nodded and slipped them in my hoodie pocket, placing my phone on top of them to hide edges of papers.
Christmas needs to come sooner.

"where's my baby?"
Tumblr media
Every thursday was grocery day for the Munson family. It just so happened to be that’s when you and Eddie found time to run errands between your work schedules.
Bradley’s Big Buy was the only supermarket in Hawkins that carried both your grocery and Arwen needs. Battling potty training with a 2, almost 3, year old was no joke.
The store’s abundant resources also meant it carried all the needs for the rest of Hawkins locals. It would be a busy day.
Today’s run was pretty simple due to you having to come to the store earlier this week to grab more diapers and wipes. You grabbed a couple of food items for convenience. This meant the list of groceries were small.
whole milk
bread
jello
dinner for friday, saturday, sunday
pasta
honeycombs
peanut butter
laundry detergent
gerbers for ari
“That shit is disgusting, why are we getting that for her?” Eddie crossed out the last one on the list, determined to get his daughter better tasting food. You always went over the list in the car before you went in.
“Maybe because it’s not meant for us to eat it. It’s meant for babies.” You deadpanned. “I don’t know why you decided to eat it, especially the peas one.” Shaking your head as you rewrote ari’s food back on the list.
“I was curious” He shrugged.
“Mmm there it is. How about this, your job is to find a good alternative for Ari’s food this week. If you do, no more gerbers.” You smirked. His eyes widened with the excitement of a challenge.
“You’ve got yourself a deal.” He stuck his hand out and waited for you to shake it. After the agreement was sealed, he drummed along the steering wheel as he got out and wrapped around to get his daughter out of her car seat. “Let’s go get you some real food, princess Arwen.”
“Let’s go!!” the 2 year old in your husband’s arm rose her hands in the air and followed her dad’s cheering toward the store. You walked behind them laughing along to their antics.
Eddie used his open arm to hold the door open for you and entered in behind you. You both settled into a routine, it was almost instinctive. Eddie would open the door, you would grab the cart, he would put Arwen in the cart and you would start to the right of the store and circle around until you had all your items and check out.
After getting the dry items such as the peanut butter and cereal (which you were confused how you were already out of honeycombs despite just buying them the other day and Eddie claiming Ari ate them all…), Eddie chose to split up so he could take Arwen to look for baby food.
This allowed you to browse through the different shapes and brands of pasta noodles, embracing the quick moment of quiet before returning to your family.
Turning around into the next aisle, you heard giggles that could only be from your daughter. She inherited a cute but very loud laugh and it was always recognizable. This brought a smile to your face before immediately turning into a worried frown as you saw why she was giggling.
Eddie slid around the corner into the aisle with Arwen flailing her arms above her head giggling and babbling along with her dad.
“Arwen! No! Come back! My only daughter! No I can’t lose you. Don’t go!” The dramatics were never ceasing in the Munson family as he let go of the cart, letting Arwen go flying through the aisle as he ran after her. He wouldn’t let her crash or hit anything but you weren’t thinking as you gasped out of fear.
He reached out for her while keeping up with his dramatic slo-no run and Arwen started to reach back at him, trusting her dad and feeding into his little game.
“Help me, daddy! Help me!” She added to the script.
“Eddie, you better get her!” You called out to him, going back and forth between letting your maternal instinct free to worry and letting them have their fun.
He caught up to the cart that finally slowed down around half way of the aisle before grabbing the handles to stop it from rolling anymore and letting out a loud sigh.
“Princess Arwen, my light, my love. I almost thought I lost you.” He fake cried and grabbed the girl who kept laughing at her dad.
“I right here, dad. I otay.” She took advantage of her dad’s role and hugged him back, running her small hands in his hair like you always did. It warmed Eddie's heart to see how well she engaged with his scenes. He was already a naturally outgoing guy, being known for the public scenes he'd start in the Hawkins high cafeteria when you were merely kids. Now he was able to put that energy into entertaining your daughter and it helped how easily she fit right in. It made him wonder how she would do if he brought her to one of the DnD nights he still hosted weekly with the friends who never left Hawkins. Maybe Arwen could play the beautiful princess that the party is destined to save. She would play the part perfectly.
While they shared a beautiful reuinion, you dropped the pasta into the cart and looked at your husband and daughter with a soft smile. No one else occupied your aisle of the store so it was a shame that their play didn’t have a big audience.
You applauded their performance which prompted Eddie to give you a bow.
“Thank you, Thank you. We’ll be in Aisle 7 all week. Free admission for you only.” He looked back over at Arwen and ruffled her hair and stepped out of the way to let you take back over the cart.
“As much as I loved your performance, I would love to go home to make some food. I’m starving, I hope the spirals are alright with you.” You said, beginning to push the cart into the next aisle that held the baby supplies. "Did you find Arwen's food?"
“Well I was reading that around her age, she needs to be introduced to more table food. They had these little meals I thought we could try.” He picked up a small packaged tray from the cart that had an brand you were unfamiliar with but it was labeled to have small pieces of vegetables, rice and cut up chicken.
It warmed your heart to know Eddie has been reading up on those things for your daughter. He truly was the best dad, always finding the best things for his daughter and focusing his free time in helping you and Arwen’s well-being. You leaned up to press a kiss on Eddie’s cheek in response.
“I think it’s perfect. Thank you, Eds. I’m sure she’ll love it.” Despite being with you for a few years now, it always made him feel warm when you showed acts of affection to him. Despite the ring, the paperwork, you both owning a house and raising a kid together, Eddie still had a hard time believing you were his. All the physical proof and his mind still made him think he wasn't worthy of the love you give him. He remembered when you were both young and in high school. He was sure you’d pick someone like Steve Harrington. But no, you were his. You were still his. Living a simple life in Hawkins with a steady income and a family. A family that goes grocery shopping every Thursday and where he receives kisses and head scratches from his wife and precious daughter.
He always dreamed of finding a nice girl, dressing in better clothes and living a nice life.
Well this was just that.
"Mommy?" Arwen got both of your attention.
"What is it, sweetheart?" You asked, looking over to where Arwen was staring at.
On the other end of the aisle was another family. The mother had a child around Arwen’s age in the cart while carrying a fairly young baby in her arms. The father pushed the cart as she looked between two sizes of diapers, clearly stressed over the idea of having to spend double on diapers now.
“Is that a friend from nursery?“ You asked. Maybe you could set up a play date and maybe have another mom friend. It was rare to find in Hawkins as you and Eddie were the only ones in your friend group to have a child.
She nodded before pointing. "Baby sister."
“Awe is that her baby sister?” Eddie smiled, it made him happy to realize Arwen was becoming more social outside of the house.
"Uh huh."
"Do you want to go say hi?" Arwen smiled and nodded as you pushed the cart to meet her friend and make your own.
After exchanging contacts and promising a play date soon, your family gathered the rest of your groceries and checked out. As you piled the bags into the back of the car and buckled Arwen into her seat, you were headed back home.
The car ride was peacefully silent except for soft metal playing from one of Eddie's old cassettes. It was quiet before your attention was called.
“Where’s my baby?” You heard in a soft voice behind you. You looked into the rear view mirror to see Arwen was looking up at the both of you with serious concern on her face.
"What, honey?" You asked, confused at the sudden and random question.
"My baby sister." She added.
"Are you asking where your baby sister is?" Eddie chuckled. Arwen nodded, confused why her serious question was confusing and humoring her parents.
"Oh, Ari." You smiled. You wrapped around in the passenger seat to face your daughter as you answered your daughter's question with sincerity.“Well, Clara’s mommy has two babies. She has Clara and her baby sister, Gina.” You held out the number two as your daughter listened intently.
"I only have one baby-"
"That me!" Arwen gleefully added, pointing to herself and swinging her feet that dangled from the car seat.
“That’s right! You, you’re my precious baby. But that means in order for you to have a baby sister, I have to have two babies.” She nodded as if the concept was easy to obtain at her young age.
“Then have a baby!” She shrugged. So nonchalant as if it was the easiest thing in the world. Her quick response caused Eddie to choke from holding in a laugh, clearly amused by the conversation going on beside him.
"Well it's not that simple, baby. I woul-"
“Hush, don’t listen to mommy.“ Eddie spoke up, patting your thigh to bring your attention over to him. “Would you like a baby sister, Arwen?”
She nodded vigorously.
“I think we can arrange something.” Eddie squeezed your thigh, giving you a quick glance with a wink before focusing back on the road. “Besides, I don’t mind the process one bit-“
"Eddieee" you singed toward him in a warning tone.
"What? I think I'm on board with Arwen here."
"You don't think it's too soon?" You asked, not expecting this to seriously be a drive-home conversation. Eddie shrugged.
"I mean, the idea of having two little princesses running around the house doesn't sound too bad. What are we thinking; Eowyn? Rosie? Elena?" He drummed his fingers against your thigh, a big smile plastered on his face as he kept his eyes on the road.
"I think Tolkien is going to sue you if you keep using his names." He laughed at your comment. "But seriously, if you're serious, then I'm serious about it too." You responded, wrapping your hand around the one laid against your thigh. You gave his hand a small squeeze before falling back into a comfortable silence.
Oblivious to her parents' comments, Arwen smiled happily in her car seat. Excited to share the news to her new friend Clara, that she too had a baby sister on the way.

Better Off
(Part 2)

February
“Y/n!”
I was walking back to my car with Maddison after school when I heard my name being called. Hoping that there was another person with my name walking around nearby, I kept going to my car. Maddie had ballet class today and she didn’t like to be late.
“Y/n! Y/n Y/l/n!”
Looks like they were calling me. I turned around to find a blonde woman who looked to be in her early forties walking with purpose in my and Maddison’s direction. Leaning down to Maddie, I whispered in her ear. “Do we know this woman?”
“That’s Delaney’s mom. At the Christmas concert, you said her highlights looked as fake as her—”
“Okay, thank you my little parrot. I remember her now,” I said hurriedly, putting my hand over my daughter’s mouth. Good timing too because Delaney’s mother finally reached us.
“Goodness, you walk fast,” she breathed, laughing lightly at her own joke.
I gave her a weak smile. “Well, you know, people to see, places to go and all that.”
“Right, right. I won’t keep you long,” Delaney’s mom said. I really needed to be better with names. “So, as you know, I’m our classroom’s Room Mom.”
I did not know that. “Right! Of course. You’re Delaney’s mom, right?”
She seemed a little put off that I didn’t know her by name, but I didn’t spend a lot of time around the school outside of picking up and dropping Maddison off. She recovered quickly, though, and her smile returned to her face with ease. “Yes, I’m Molly. I actually came to talk to you about your participation and involvement in our school’s activities.”
Participation and involvement in our school’s activities? I went to school already, now it was my kid’s turn. Why would I have to participate? But I knew that answer wouldn’t fly with the likes of Molly, so I smiled and apologized.
“Sorry about that. I just have the craziest work hours.” True. “I keep looking for opportunities, but I’m always working on a case.” Half true. I was typically always on a case, but that didn’t mean I was looking for opportunities to help out around school.
“Yes well, you see, all of our parents are required to help out with at least one school sanctioned event each year, and somehow you managed to avoid doing so last year.” As she said the last part, she gave me a pointed glance. “I’ve been working on rounding up you and a couple of other parents from our homeroom who still haven’t signed up to volunteer.”
What kind of school was this? “Oh. Well, If you just send me an email or something, I’m sure we can work something out.”
I had no intention of participating in any school sanctioned events, but I found it easier to rebuff someone over email than in person. But it seemed Molly saw right through me.
“Oh, but we’re right here aren’t we? And I have the perfect opportunity for you. It can be a bonding experience for you and your daughter.”
And that’s how I got roped into working a bake sale at a Valentine’s Day carnival.
I didn’t even know why the first grade parents were in charge of the Valentine’s Day event. My kid was six. She wasn’t the targeted demographic for this holiday. I tried to voice my opinion to Molly, who had been on my ass all week to ensure that I actually showed up today, but she wasn’t having it. So here I was, in the school’s gymnasium on a Friday afternoon, which I had to take off work for, selling all sorts of baked goods to students and parents alike.
I was told there was supposed to be one other parent helping me, but they hadn’t shown up yet, which was making me mad. If I had to be here, then so did this other person. Slipping the little flask I’d brought with me out of my purse, I ducked behind the table and took a sip. I wasn’t typically a day drinker, but I’d already had to put up with parents complaining about the prices of the baked goods on the table before me, and I was not going to go through this by myself. Jose Cuervo was here to keep me company.
“I’m no expert on elementary school rules, but I’m pretty sure drinking on campus isn’t allowed.”
I froze, my hands stilling as they twisted the cap back on. Of all the people to help with the bake sale today, it had to be him. I was bad with names, but I unfortunately had no issue remembering his. I had said it numerous times on Halloween, after all. As much as I wanted to forget that night, my mind circled back to it more than I cared to admit.
After a full day of nursing my hangover, my night with Harry slowly came back to me. I finished the drink he offered to pay for, but when it was done, I surprised the both of us by telling him to stay. The drinks I’d consumed before I saw him had loosened me up a little, and I was less inclined to smack him, which apparently also meant I wanted his company at the bar. Sadie, Harry, and I talked for hours, laughing and drinking like we were college students and not adults with actual responsibilities.
And of course, because I became a total flirt when I had a couple drinks, my hand started to land on Harry’s arm, I gave him looks that were a little more than friendly, spurred on by the fact that he seemed pleased by my actions. Eventually, I stood up and declared that I wanted to dance. Sadie, who knew exactly where I was headed with that declaration, feigned tiredness and claimed she had to be up early the next morning. Harry didn’t even question it, standing up with me and waving to the bartender to close out his tab before moving to the dance floor in the next room over. While he did that, I quickly thanked Sadie and told her she was right. “I do need to let loose a little,” I’d said, hugging her as she collected her things.
“You absolutely do. Just be safe, alright? No buns in the oven a couple of weeks from now,” she’d replied, and after I assured her that my night with Harry would end after some dancing and possibly sucking him off in the bathroom, she was off.
Despite my promise to Sadie, and myself, really, I went home with Harry without question. He had been almost as intoxicating as the alcohol I’d consumed that night, so when he called an Uber for the both of us to bring us back to his place, I was all for it.
We’d hardly made it into the entryway of his house before we were all over each other. The second he turned to face me after locking the front door, I was on him, kissing him feverishly and like my life depended on it. The noises he made as I kissed his neck and jaw, as I gripped him through the sparkly fabric of his costume, only spurred me on, made me feel on top of the world.
“This doesn’t change anything,” I’d panted, helping him out of his costume. “I still hate you.”
“Yeah? You hate me? Is that why you’re about to get on your knees for me?” he replied. His smirk was so cocky and yet so alluring. It made me want to smack it right off of him and let him do whatever he damn pleased with me.
And the way he spoke to me had grated on my nerves in the best way, too. At home and at work, I was in charge and there weren’t very many people that I answered to. I took pride in my power, in being confident, in having a commanding presence when I needed it. And yet Harry’s words lit a fire inside of me just as much as pissing off stuffy old lawyers who underestimated me did. And by the way his smile grew, he knew it too. I knew then before we’d even really done anything that I was in for it, that the man in front of me, who I had loathed for months now, was going to ruin me, and I didn’t even care. As long as it was one night, I didn’t see the harm.
So for the last four months now, I’d been avoiding him like the plague. It was actually easier than I thought, seeing as I rarely saw him picking up or dropping off his son, which was fine by me. I never breathed a word of what happened on Halloween to anyone except Sadie, who got an earful from me when I made her tell me what the hell she was thinking for leaving me alone with Harry that night.
“I was thinking you needed to get laid and he’s hot,” she said, like that was all she needed to say.
“Sadie, you know I don’t like him, why on earth would I ever—”
“You actually liked him quite a bit last night.” Her smug grin made me blush. I knew I had a habit of flirting after having a few drinks, but I’ve always been able to control myself. What the hell was in those margaritas? “And, not that you’ll like, care or anything, but he’s actually quite nice.”
I opened my mouth to tell her about his shitty attitude in Principal Stevens’ office and every interaction I’d had with him afterwards, but she beat me to it. “I know, I know, he was an ass. That’s why I never said anything. But I didn’t see any harm in him taking you home. Sex with someone you hate can be really hot.”
And boy was it ever. By the time I woke up (again) in my own bed that morning after Halloween, everything had come back to me. Just thinking about that night made me blush—the things he did, the things I did, every dirty little comment he whispered in my ear. How the hell was I supposed to get through a whole afternoon with him when just looking at him caused flashes of our night together to flood my mind?
“Yeah, well, when you want a sip after dealing with these parents, don’t come crying to me,” I told Harry, doing my best to pretend that nothing had ever happened between us.
Despite how much I might have wanted to stay hiding underneath the bake sale table, I knew I couldn’t. I stood up and turned around to face him.
He looked good, like really good. He was dressed casually in another pair of jeans and a cardigan, but this one was a patchwork of colors and patterns. I looked down at what I was wearing, a pair of jeans and a hoodie I’d had since college, and my birks over socks with little pink hearts on them. I might have been a little underdressed for this stupid thing, but I didn’t want to be here, and I didn’t really care that parents and school staff were giving me disapproving looks, or if a few people asked if I was enjoying my time in college.
When my eyes flicked back to the man in front of me, I could tell he wanted to say something about Halloween, I could see it in his eyes. But I was going to pretend like it didn’t happen until I was blue in the face, so I spoke before he got the chance.
“So, those are fifty cents, those seventy-five, those a dollar, and those a buck fifty. Easy enough to remember. The cash box doesn’t like to open, but if you just kind of, like, pound the top of it with your fist, it gives a little.”
Harry was grinning, but I couldn’t understand why. I certainly had no desire to be here. The only thing keeping me going at this point was that Maddie and I were going to have a girls night tonight. She was around here somewhere with my brother Javi, playing games and winning prizes while I worked the bake sale table, which was not very popular, if sales were anything to go by.
It was silent for a few minutes while a kid who looked about ten came up to the table, stared at the table, and walked away from it without buying anything. Afterwards, Harry blew out a low whistle.
“This sucks,” he stated.
He was preaching to the choir. “Try actually being here on time.”
“Sorry about that,” Harry said, and he sounded genuine. “I got a call that couldn’t wait as I was leaving my house. Would’ve rather been here, believe me.”
I considered his words, and found them to be true. While I tried to be on time to everything, I knew that life got in the way. Lord knows I’d had Sadie take Maddison home on a few occasions because I was held up at work. “It’s fine, I guess,” I said, a little snark in my tone to let him know that it didn’t actually bother me that he was late.
More silence, which was fine with me. Because if we weren’t speaking, there was less of a chance he’d bring up anything that had happened between us four months ago.
For the next hour or so, Harry and I switched off helping out the few people who walked up to our table. He seemed to know most of them, and I half-listened as he talked about one thing or another with a parent. I also didn’t miss the way that the longer Harry had been here, the more people started to come up to our table, the more women started coming up to our table. It was a little creepy how they batted their eyelashes and laughed at the things he said that weren’t funny, but part of me begrudgingly admired the way some of them shamelessly flirted with him.
When the last one walked away with a little wave over her shoulder, I reached into my purse and pulled out my flask to give to him. “Here. You earned it.”
“Thanks,” he said, surprising me by how easily he took it from my hands to take a swig.
He passed it back, and I took a small sip myself before screwing the cap back on and stashing it back in my purse. “Now I know why Molly had you on bake sale duty. You’re great for sales.”
Harry chuckled lightly. “She’s quite persistent, isn’t she?”
I nodded in agreement and grabbed one of the brownies off the table. Tearing off a piece, I popped it in my mouth, only to grab a napkin and spit it right back out. “Holy shit, that was awful! Who made that?”
“Um, I think I did, actually,” Harry said, his voice sheepish. Giving him a funny look, he continued. “My ex, Devon’s mother. She said she’d take care of it.”
“Well, she sucks at baking,” I told him, tossing the wadded up napkin in the trash. “She should’ve done us all a favor and bought something from the store.”
Once again, Harry took me by surprise by throwing his head back and laughing. It was a cute laugh, I thought, but I quickly shook it away.
“Well, then, what did you make?” he asked when he sobered up.
“Those,” I said, pointing to frosted sugar cookies cut into the shape of hearts. “I wanted to do anatomically correct hearts, but Maddie said it would scare the children.”
“She might’ve been onto something,” Harry agreed.
“Yes, well, she’s the smart one in our mother-daughter duo. I just drive her from place to place.”
It was quiet between us again as more women walked up to our table, and I sat back and let Harry handle the housewives, seeing as they were there for him and not the baked goods. I was pretty sure some of them were even here before. Like I said, shameless. When they all flocked away again, I fished out the flask.
“Hold onto it. Something tells me they’ll be back,” I said while he took a couple more sips.
“Are you trying to get me drunk?” Harry asked. Then, getting close enough so that only I could hear him, he whispered in my ear. “Because you don’t need to do that if you’re trying to get me to take you home again.”
My eyes nearly bugged out of my head, panic and excitement warring inside me. He had no business having a voice that low or gravelly.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” I said, trying to feign cluelessness, but my voice was a little higher pitched than usual.
“I think you do,” Harry sing-songed. “And I think you enjoyed it as much as I did.”
I gulped, hating the way his voice alone was having an effect on me. Where were the housewives when I needed them? I chanced a look at his face, and we were practically nose to nose. He grinned, and that infuriatingly cute dimple indented his cheek.
“I’m going to the bathroom,” I blurted, standing up from the stool behind our table. I didn’t even have to go, but I needed to get away from Harry. He was entirely too charming, his smile a little too smug. I hated him. Hated him. I repeated this over and over and over again as I walked around looking for a restroom. Finding one, I slipped inside and leaned my hands against one of the sinks.
“Pull it together, Y/n,” I said, scolding my reflection. “He’s a cocky asshole with a nightmare son. That’s all.”
I turned on the faucet and splashed some cold water on my face, hoping that the thoughts of kissing Harry again that had popped up again would go away. Just as I was drying my face with a couple paper towels, the bathroom door quickly opened and shut, and I heard the lock click before I saw Harry through the reflection in the mirror.
“What are you doing in here?” I hissed, my eyes widening as he closed the space between us.
“I thought—Well, I thought…”
“Well you thought wrong!” I whisper-shouted. “We are at our kids’ elementary school, there are children and parents everywhere, and I…hate you,” I finished lamely.
Harry had looked sheepish until that point. That cocky grin of his that I was regrettably familiar with taking over his face. “You hate me? I feel like I’ve heard that before,” he said, his nose pressing against my cheek as he pressed a tiny kiss to my jaw.
He was referring to that night. Halloween. I kept saying that I hated him, but it only seemed to spur him on. I would never admit it to Sadie, but she was right. Sex with someone you hated was thrilling, to say the least.
But he was using his gravelly voice again, the one that both grated on my nerves and sent chills down my spine. Not trusting my voice, I just nodded.
Harry didn’t seem to be swayed by the fact that I nodded. In fact, it only seemed to spur him on, and I hated how thrilled I was by that fact. He stepped closer until there was only an inch between us. “Then I’m very lucky to be hated by you.”
He leaned in so that his lips brushed right up against my ear, and I had to fight off the shiver that was desperately trying to wrack through me. “You wanna know why?”
I gulped again, unable to help my head from bobbing up and down. I felt his hands reach up to my waist and under my hoodie, his thumbs caressing small circles into my skin. My breath hitched in my throat as he spoke again.
“I’ve never been fucked so good in my life. So thank you for hating me.”
His words made me lose all my resolve. Threading my hands through his hair, I brought his lips to mine. It was rushed and hungry, nothing but tongue and teeth as Harry nipped and tugged at my bottom lip.
I absolutely despised how much I enjoyed it, but his lips were too soft, his hands a little too familiar with my body. My eyes fluttered shut as he moved down to my jaw, then the spot just below my ear. Unable to help myself, I gripped his hair harder, and he moaned against my skin. He actually moaned.
His hands reached higher and came dangerously close to my bra when I started to come to my senses again. We were in an elementary school bathroom, for God’s sake. Fuck, my daughter was around here somewhere.
“Harry,” I tried to say, but it sounded breathless.
I felt him grin against my neck. “Yeah, sweetheart?”
“Harry, we—fuck—we have to stop.”
He stayed where he was, his tongue soothing over where his teeth were and his hands splayed against my ribcage for a couple more seconds, but he eventually pulled away. Both of us were panting, lips swollen and red. I cleared my throat, feeling awkward all of a sudden now that we’d stopped.
“I’m, um, I’m gonna go before Molly kills one of us. Probably me,” I said, not making eye contact with him once. Quickly brushing past him, I reached for the door.
Harry had the common sense to wait a few minutes before returning back to the table. While I was alone at the bake sale, I pulled my hair out of my ponytail and combed through it the best I could with my fingers, trying to cover up the mark I knew was now on my neck.
I was not this person. The kind of person who made out in gymnasium bathrooms at a Valentine’s Day carnival for school children. Maybe that’s what it is, I thought. I’m feeling subconsciously lonely because it’s Valentine’s Day. Whatever the case, it needed to end. I needed to go back to ignoring Harry and keeping him in the back of my mind and focus on being the best mom I could be for Madison.
“Mommy!”
I turned around to see Maddison running towards me, Javi not far behind her. She came around the back of the table to where I was sitting and gave me a big hug. I peppered her face with kisses, holding her tighter when she tried to squirm away from me. She finally wiggled enough to the point where I had to let her go, but she stayed close to my side.
“How’d you do, mija? Win any prizes?”
I humored my daughter for a few minutes while she showed me what she won. It was all stuff I’d probably throw away within the next two days, but in the moment I was happy that she was happy. When she was done, I pointed to the table that still had baked goods on it.
“Guess what, Maddie,” I said, pushing her braids behind her shoulders.
“What?”
“The cookies we baked were a hit. Almost all of them are gone,” I told her proudly, pointing to where there were only two left on the little platter we brought.
Maddison’s face broke out into an even bigger smile than the one she was sporting before, and I smiled back at her. I didn’t really want to be here today, but seeing that smile made almost anything worthwhile. My brother gave me a funny look but didn’t say anything to me, probably clocking the way I was still a little red in the face. Instead, he slipped Maddison a dollar so she could buy something from the table.
“Don’t get those brownies over there. Absolutely dreadful, I hear.” I turned my head to find Harry taking his place back at my side. His face wasn’t flushed anymore, but his lips still looked a little swollen, and I prayed I at least looked better off than he did.
I think he was expecting Maddie to laugh or something, but she just tilted her head as she peered up at him. “You’re Devon’s dad.”
It was like a small bomb had been dropped, and I suddenly felt even worse about sleeping with Harry on Halloween and kissing him in the bathroom just now. To his credit, Harry looked embarrassed as well as he scratched the back of his neck. But his next words took me by surprise.
“Yeah, I am. He’s kind of a little shit isn’t he?” My jaw dropped as Maddison giggled. My brother nudged my shoulder, bringing me out of my stupor.
“Harry! You—You can’t say that,” I stuttered. I mean, I agreed, but that didn’t mean he had to swear in front of my daughter. Not to mention that was his kid he was talking about. Harry merely shrugged, and I felt a little sorry for him. I didn’t know what his situation was like, or what kind of relationship he had with his son, but he clearly didn’t like the way Devon was being raised and couldn’t do anything about it. At least that’s what I assumed from the little I’d heard about his ex and the way he talked about her.
“I gave him a stern talking to a few months ago, and I told him he needed to apologize for all of the trouble he’s been giving you. Did he?”
I knew that for as smart as Maddison was, she, like all six year olds, had a short memory span. She’d moved on fairly quickly, coming home from school with a skip in her step and no more tears because the boy who used to pull the bows out of her hair didn’t anymore. I thought back to Halloween, when I dropped off Maddison at school, and Harry had tried to talk to me then. Maybe he was trying to explain what he was telling Maddie now.
Maddie looked at me, a silent question in her eyes. “Go on,” I told her. Taking my hand in hers, Maddison nodded.
“He did. And he said he liked my backpack too,” she said, her voice shy as she spoke to Harry.
“You never told me that, mija,” I said to her. There was rarely a detail Maddison left out about her day, so why she didn’t tell me about Devon apologizing was beyond me.
“You always call Devon by the wrong name. I didn’t want to confuse you,” Maddie said simply.
“I don’t always say his name wrong,” I muttered, not once looking in Harry’s direction, but I could hear him chuckling quietly to my left.
“Yes you do. Even I noticed,” Javi said, and I cut him a glare for piping up.
Before I could say anything else, Harry and my replacement volunteers came to relieve us. Having recognized them, Harry stayed to talk, but I just grabbed my things, took Maddie’s hand, and started walking with Javi to the car.
As we walked, I asked Maddison what she wanted to watch tonight. It was time to go through the lengthy process of taking her braids out, which was never easy because Maddison always cried and I hated to see her in pain. So I started making a night of it. Anytime I had to take them out, we would watch her favorite movie, eat her favorite foods, and I let her stay up a little past her bedtime.
While Maddison’s father was as white as they came, she took after me in nearly every aspect, especially when it came to looks. Her complexion, while not quite as dark as mine, was still dark, her hair was curly like mine and my mother’s, and she had the prettiest hazel eyes like my father. She was beautiful and she was mine, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
“Y/n, wait up,” I turned to see Harry rushing to catch up to us, and it occurred to me that this was starting to be a pattern. Harry had jogged over to Maddie, Javi, and me, his hair bouncing up and down with each step. “You were going to leave without saying goodbye?”
I looked at him funny. “Um, yes?” I asked like it was obvious, because I thought it was.
Harry frowned, and I could tell he was thinking about our little moment in the bathroom. And while I could admit that he was an excellent kisser, I knew something like that couldn’t happen again. My hands were full with work and with Maddison (in the best way possible). I didn’t have time for entertaining or flirting with men in my spare time, no matter how attractive or good at kissing they were.
To Harry’s credit, he didn’t give up as easily as I thought he would. “Oh, well, I just came over to say that I’d love to, um, you know, like, get…coffee or something sometime.”
I looked over at my brother, who wiggled his eyebrows at me, and then I looked at Maddie. She watched my exchange with Harry with curious eyes, not quite sure why Devon’s dad wanted to get coffee with me, and quite frankly I wasn’t sure either. I was under the impression that what happened on Halloween was a one time thing, save for the one minor slip up in the gym bathroom today. There was also the fact that his son picked on Maddison the first month of school. It seemed like she and Devon had moved on somewhat, which I would have to ask Sadie and my daughter about later, but I still remembered the way Principal Stevens looked down her nose at me, how furious Harry seemed when I suggested that perhaps his son wasn’t totally innocent. Both of those boys were trouble, and I, and Maddie for that matter, didn’t need trouble.
I decided to let him down easy, and if he still didn’t take the hint, then I’d be more blunt. “That’s nice of you, but with Maddison and work, I hardly have time—”
“She’s free in a couple weeks,” Javi cut in. I whipped my head around to glare at my brother, but he just shrugged his shoulders. “Our parents are taking Maddison out for the day, so Y/n’s free.”
Harry’s brows rose, intrigued by this new bit of information. When he saw that I wasn’t arguing this fact, he grinned. Why did his grin always look so smug? Yet another reason to dislike Harry, more fuel to the fire. “Really? Well, I should probably get your number then, so I can call you about this coffee date of ours.”
“It’s not a date,” I said immediately, but it only made him grin even more.
I walked away from Harry after giving him my phone number. It wasn’t a big deal, I told myself. You can always brush him off over text. Or ignore his calls. Javi thankfully kept quiet as we all piled into his car, but I knew his questions would come later when Maddison wasn’t around. I knew for certain that he had picked up on the fact that something went down between Harry and me. As Javi pulled out of the school parking lot, Maddie piped up from the backseat.
“Mommy, why did Devon’s dad ask you to get coffee? Are you going on a playdate?”
These were the kinds of things I wanted to avoid. In the six years that Maddie had been alive, I kept my dating life, if I could even call it that, separate from her. I knew that none of the few guys I went out for drinks with were permanent, so I didn’t see the point of ever introducing them to her, and Harry was no different. We hooked up, that was it. It’s just that I typically didn’t have to worry about seeing a one night stand again in the pick–up line at Maddison’s school.
“He was putting the moves on your mom,” Javi said when I didn’t answer Maddie’s question. I punched his arm at a stoplight, but he just continued on laughing.
“The moves?” Maddison asked, sounding confused.
“Don’t listen to your uncle, Maddison. He’s being silly. And yeah, I guess you could call it a playdate. Is that okay with you?”
I had no intention of taking Harry up on his offer, but I was curious to know her answer. Part of me still didn’t want to have anything to do with Harry or his son because of Maddie, but she was much better at letting go of things than I was. Through the rearview mirror, I could see her playing with the sleeves of her shirt as she considered my question.
“I think so. Devon’s not really mean to me anymore, and you always say we have to be kind to the people around us right?”
“I do say that, don’t I?” I mused. “You’ve got a point, Maddie mine. Always so wise and mature.”
Maddie grinned, pleased by my words. “And Delaney said he has a pool at his house. Maybe if you go on playdates with his dad I can come too.”
Annnd there it was. Unable to help myself, I laughed, and Maddie joined in too. “You might be onto something, kid. We’ll see if we can do something about getting you into that pool.”
I didn’t want to get her hopes up, but after today, I didn’t plan on seeing Harry except occasionally in the parking lot at school. I didn’t like the way he looked so sure of himself when I gave him my number, like he thought it was some big victory. He could have my number, I had no problem with that, but that didn’t mean I was going to answer any of his calls.

March
“You’ve been avoiding me.”
I nearly jumped out of my skin when I heard Harry’s voice so close to my ear. Looking over my shoulder, I saw him leaning over the little desk he was sitting in behind me. I didn’t see him when I came into the classroom twenty minutes ago, so he must’ve gotten here sometime during Sadie’s presentation. “Jesus, you scared the shit out of me.”
A parent to my left glared at me through her glasses, and I mouthed a quiet sorry to her before facing forward again. Now that I knew he was behind me, I could feel his stare burning holes in the back of my head. I fought the urge to turn around and focused as Sadie gave all the parents an update on what our kids were learning at school. I knew that I didn’t really have to come, Sadie could’ve just given me an update outside of this parent-teacher meeting. But Maddie was excited for me to see all her work and projects displayed in her classroom, so I rushed out the building I worked at and sped over here to make it on time.
“Am I going to have to resort to passing you notes? I think I have some paper somewhere,” Harry whispered, but his voice wasn’t as close as it was before.
Turning in my own desk, I glared at him. “I am trying to listen. Leave me alone.”
Harry only grinned, having finally gotten my attention. He was dressed similarly to when I first met him in the principal’s office, not a full suit, but dress pants and a button up. I wonder what he did for a living.
“Why are you ignoring my calls?” he asked, his voice staying hushed so that we wouldn’t distract the other parents.
I narrowed my eyes at him. “I am not talking about this right now.”
To my surprise, he looked a little pissed. “When then? You’re a very hard person to get a hold of, Y/n.”
I hated how much I liked the way he said my name. It brought back memories of Halloween when I was underneath him and he whispered it under the cover of night. Shaking my head, I turned back around before he could see what I was thinking about in my eyes.
Trying my best to focus on Sadie at the front of the classroom, I leaned forward on my desk and as far away from Harry as I could get. Harry thankfully didn’t bother me the rest of the meeting, and when it was over I quickly got up from my seat. He looked like he wanted to follow, but as I predicted, one mom, then two, came up to talk to him. Without a second glance in his direction, I walked towards Sadie.
“Excellent presentation, Ms. Larson,” I said, my voice overly formal. “You had me on the edge of my seat,” I told her proudly, coming to lean against her desk. Looking at the heels I was wearing, I could physically feel how long I’d been on my feet, and was definitely ready to get home and tuck Maddison in for the night and sit in bed while taking one last look at some of my work. Hopefully I could get away without Harry noticing so I could do that.
“Ha. I definitely wasn’t what had you on the edge of your seat. Don’t think I didn’t see you talking to Harry. What did he want?”
I blushed at being caught, but I was glad Sadie didn’t call us out on it during her presentation like we were actual students. “He wants to know why I haven’t answered his calls.”
“Funnily enough, so do I,” Sadie said, tilting her head to the side. “I don’t see the harm in humoring him. It’s one coffee date.”
I sighed, fighting the urge to run a hand through my hair. It was cooperating today and I had no desire to mess it up. I glanced over to where multiple women were vying for his attention. I didn’t blame them, he was a hot young dad who could afford to send his son to private school. And he has tattoos, my mind supplied unhelpfully. If it wasn’t for the way we’d met, maybe I could give him a chance, but I also didn’t need to be public enemy number one with all those mothers, either.
“Look at them, Sadie,” I said, my eyes flicking back to the way they all laughed a little too loudly at something Harry said. “You know how fast gossip travels among these people. If they heard something, I’d have a scarlet letter on my chest. I don’t want that kind of drama for my kid.”
I started helping Sadie pack up her things, not wanting to talk about me or Harry anymore. She could tell I was done talking, and left it at that. While she gathered her stuff, she told me how well Maddison was doing in reading and math, and I couldn’t help the proud smile that erupted on my face. Eventually, though, a couple came up to ask Sadie a question, and I let her be. Picking up my purse and hauling it over my shoulder, I started fishing for my keys so I could head home to Maddie. From the corner of my eye, I could see a pair of shiny black boots walk up and stop right in front of me.
“Done entertaining the bored housewives?” I asked, not even looking up from where I was rooting around my purse. Where were my keys?
“Looking for these?” he fired back, ignoring my jab. Picking my head up, I saw my car keys dangling from Harry's finger. “And before you make some wild accusation about me stealing them so you had to talk to me, it should be known that in your haste to get away from me, they fell out of your bag.”
I tried not to blush because that was exactly what I was going to do. I reached out to take them from Harry, but he pulled them back. I raised a brow at him. “Can I have my keys back?”
“Can you say please?” he asked, that same smug grin on his face. He was enjoying this, I thought. He liked that he had a little power over me. When I didn’t say please like he’d asked, just crossed my arms to show that my patience was wearing thin, he leaned over. “Come on, you’ve said it for me before. Begged for me even.”
My eyes widened. Harry had absolutely no shame. Blushing furiously, I pushed past him and stalked off. I didn’t care if he still had my keys, I’d get a ride home with Sadie, I’d call an Uber. What I wasn’t going to do was let him stand in front of me looking pleased with himself. I meant it when I said that I wasn’t the type of person to kiss some guy I hardly knew in elementary school bathrooms, and I certainly wasn’t the type to make flirtatious remarks or talk about a one night stand in my daughter’s first grade classroom. His comment was disrespectful and out of line, and I wasn’t going to put up with it.
I also didn’t need any of these parents knowing my business. I didn't miss the way the same mothers who had been talking to Harry earlier were watching our interaction like hawks. Harry was definitely more trouble than he was worth. Pulling my phone out of my purse, I started ordering an Uber. I heard the sound of footsteps echoing down the hallway, but I ignored them and kept walking.
“Y/n, wait—” he started, but I was suddenly tired of this cat and mouse thing we kept doing. Turning around, I laid into him.
“Am I a joke to you?” I asked.
Harry looked surprised that I turned to face him, but that was quickly replaced by confusion. “What? No, of course not.”
“I don’t know what makes you think you can make comments like that when there are other people around. People who would very much like to hear it and spread that shit around like it’s everyone’s business. This is where my daughter goes to school. Her education, and my reputation, for that matter, is important to me.
“Do you know how many parents here think so little of me because I’m a single mother at my age? The last thing I need is for you to add more fuel to their fire, so what happened between you and me?” I told him, gesturing between the two of us. “It has no business being talked about in public where it could somehow reach my daughter’s ears. In fact, let’s just say it never happened. So do us both a favor and hand me my keys, and leave me the fuck alone.”
He looked startled by my outburst, but he didn’t hesitate in doing as I asked. Taking them from his hand, I turned on my heel and walked out the school’s front doors.
My heart was pounding, my anger levels steadily rising. The audacity of this man, I thought repeatedly. It didn’t matter if people might have heard what Harry said or not, that kind of stuff was private, and he obviously didn’t have to worry about being so cavalier about his sex life. The way the two of us were treated by the other parents at this school, despite us both being young single parents, spoke volumes. I saw the way some parents looked at me when I dropped Maddison off at school, knew exactly what they thought of me. There was clearly a luxury of behaving a certain way that Harry had and I didn’t. If that’s who he was, then fine, but it wasn’t me. That couldn’t be me.
Harry might’ve thought he was being cute or flirtatious, but I couldn’t afford to be scrutinized even more than I already was by the parents at this school. Not to mention the fact that it was wildly inappropriate and rude.
I felt a little bad for snapping at him, but I got the feeling that he was the type of person that if you weren’t absolutely clear about these types of things, he wouldn’t get it. I’d been giving him a little slack because I thought he was cute and he seemed like a decent enough guy, but I didn’t have time for games or decent enough guys. I had Maddison, and she was my whole world. And that world did not involve Harry.
***
A few weeks had passed and they were thankfully peaceful.
I had seen Harry pick up his son on occasion, but he kept his distance. Every time we made eye contact and he quickly looked away, I felt a little bad, but it was for the best. I could only imagine how much messier things would get if Harry had his way and we’d started seeing each other.
It had become a little difficult, though, because after everything that happened, Maddison and Devon had become friends.
It started with Maddie coming home and telling me she and Devon shared the toy cars he'd brought to school. I was happy that they’d come so far since September and that they could play together without any more issues or calls to the principal’s office. But as the days went by and she talked about him more—how they played tag at recess together, or when he showed her his new Black Panther watch—I knew that it was only a matter of time before she asked for a playdate.
Maddie had obviously been on playdates and gone to birthday parties for kids in her class, but I also hadn’t slept or fought with any of their parents. After the little parent-teacher meeting her school hosted a few weeks ago, and Harry and I steered clear of each other, I really didn’t want to have to make that phone call.
I ended up not having to make any calls because Maddison’s birthday rolled around, and she told me she wanted a Marvel themed birthday party and that all her classmates were to be invited. She looked so excited when she came to me about it that I couldn’t say no, even though I knew it would lead to some sort of interaction with Harry. I did my best to keep things as distant as possible, sending Maddison to school with invitations to put in each kids’ cubby for them to take home to their parents.
This was kind of a big deal for both of us. It was Maddie’s first big birthday party with all her classmates, and it was the first time I would have people over at our house. I didn’t mind the fact that Maddison and I lived with my older brother. In fact, I loved it, and I knew she did too. I just knew for a fact that these parents didn’t share a small one story home with their relatives, and I couldn’t help but feel a little insecure about it.
Pushing those thoughts aside, I focused on making this the best birthday party a first grader had ever been to. I bought party favors with the Avengers and Spiderman and other Marvel superheroes on them after work and before I had to pick up Maddison, I ordered a Black Panther themed birthday cake during one of my lunch breaks, and I even had some of my coworkers in my office sign a card for Maddison.
Before she was in school, I often brought Maddie with me to work, handing her off to some of my friends while I was in meetings and putting her down for a nap by reading cases aloud in my office. Because this immigration law office was the first one to take me in after I graduated, she’d grown up a lot there, and the people I worked with had watched her do all that growing up. They were even a little sad when she stopped coming in with me and started going to school instead. I still brought Maddison in from time to time on the days where I had to work and she didn’t have school. The small office and the people in it were like a second family for us, and I knew Maddie would appreciate the card and little goodies my coworkers got for her.
On Saturday afternoon, I got Maddie dressed up in the Dora Milaje costume she wanted and I couldn’t resist buying while Javi helped me put up the rest of the decorations in our backyard, most of which we spent yesterday setting up. Maddie’s friends were due any minute, and I still had to get ready. I just wanted everything to be perfect for her. She deserved the world.
“Mommy, don’t you have to get ready too?” Maddison asked while I straightened out her costume. When she came to me with her birthday party idea, she insisted that it be a costume party, so that’s what we were going to do.
“Yeah, baby, but the birthday girl comes first,” I told her, fixing the two buns on the top of her head. “Annnd done. Now give Mom a kiss and ask Uncle Javi if he needs help.” Maddison gave me a kiss on the cheek and scampered off to find her uncle.
Between working, getting ready for this birthday party, and taking Maddison from place to place on time, I didn’t have time to put a costume together for myself. It was on the warmer side today, so I settled for a blue Captain America t–shirt tucked into a pair of denim shorts, my hair pulled up into a ponytail. As I left our bedroom, I heard the doorbell ring. Time for the chaos to begin.
***
Maddison’s birthday party was fantastic. Every one of her classmates that she invited came, and some of the parents even offered to stay and help keep all the six and seven year olds in line. I was taken aback, to say the least. For most of my time at Maddison’s school, I felt like an outsider, but after spending some time with a girl’s father and another boy’s mother while the kids played pretend in the backyard, I felt like I had made some friends of my own.
One thing that unsettled me was Devon. Not Devon himself, who, after being on his best behavior the whole party, I came to like quite a lot. The weird thing was how he got dropped off. A woman about my age, his mother, I assumed, came to the front door.
Her hair was the perfect shade of blond and styled to perfection. She was tan, but judging by the very subtle lighter tone of her face, it wasn’t natural. Her eyes were hidden behind a pair of obnoxiously large sunglasses that I could see my reflection in, and even though I knew we were probably about the same age, I looked like a teenager compared to her. In her jeans that I’m sure cost more than what I paid to put Maddie’s birthday party together and a white tank top tucked into them with an expensive looking jacket over it, a part of me wondered what she or Harry did for a living.
I couldn’t dwell on that, though. Not when she quickly said she’d be back in a couple of hours, and walked off without so much as a glance at Devon, her heels clip-clopping down the front porch of my brother’s house and leaving her son and me alone.
Devon had looked more than slightly uncomfortable, and in that interaction alone, I could see where him acting out at school came from. It didn’t make his behavior okay, but as a mother, my heart went out to him. Bending down, I took the little gift bag clutched in his hand and brought him inside and towards the backyard where some of the other kids were already playing.
“I love your costume. Is Iron Man your favorite superhero?” I asked him. Devon nodded, but he still looked sullen. I leaned down to whisper in his ear. “Don’t tell Maddie, but he’s my favorite too.”
Devon had the ghost of a grin on his face, and I hoped that once he started running around with his classmates, he would be smiling from ear to ear.
And he did. He laughed, he played with Maddison and the other kids there, and was incredibly polite to me, Javi, and the two parents that stayed to help out. Once I saw that Devon was having a good time, any feelings about his mom were forgotten for the time being, I focused on Maddison. From what I could tell, she had a blast—playing the games I planned beforehand, opening presents, and wiping cake frosting on my cheek after everyone sang her happy birthday.
When it came time for everyone to go home, it didn’t come as a surprise when Devon was the last kid to be picked up. I asked him if his mom said anything about when she was coming, but he just shrugged his shoulders and began to look like he did when he first arrived. Not wanting him to feel bad, I quickly moved on, bringing him and Maddie inside to watch a movie. After everyone else had left and Javi went out for drinks with a couple of his friends, it was just me and the two kids.
“Do you have anything on underneath your costume, bud? Maybe get comfortable until Mom comes to get you?”
Devon nodded, and I sent Maddie to our room to go get changed while I helped our last remaining guest out of his Iron Man suit.
“You and Maddie share a room?” he asked as I helped him with his zipper.
I was quiet for a moment while I held him steady so he could step out of his costume. “Yeah, we do,” I answered honestly. “We live in a bit of a smaller house, so we sleep in the same room. Like roommates.”
Devon blinked, long eyelashes framing bright blue eyes. “I kind of like that. My bedroom is on the other side of our house.”
I knew kids had a penchant for telling the honest truth like nobody’s business, but I didn’t expect him to say that. The few times I heard Harry refer to Devon’s mom, he called her his ex, and from that I had to guess that they didn’t live together, so I wondered where Devon fit in this equation. I didn’t want to ask out of respect for Harry’s and Devon’s privacy, but I was incredibly curious.
A few minutes later, Maddison came out of our room, bounding over to me in her gray sweatpants and the university hoodie I’d gotten for her last year. I put on a movie for the two of them in the living room while I figured out dinner for the three of us. While I considered ordering in or making dinner, my phone chimed.
Unknown: Hey, this is Harry. I’m so sorry. I know the party ended a while ago. I’ll be there within the hour.
After Harry and I exchanged numbers, I never saved his to my phone. It was easier to ignore his calls or texts when it came from someone that wasn’t in my contact list. Now though, I saved it and sent him a text back.
Me: No worries. We’re just hanging out.
I didn’t want to worry him, not when I had gotten a small glimpse at Devon’s situation at home. Obviously I didn’t understand everything, but I knew enough to be sympathetic. Going into the living room, I relayed the information Harry gave to me. Devon didn’t seem to mind, content to play with Maddison and watch their movie. I finally decided that I’d spent enough money on Maddie’s birthday party, so I got started on making rice, beans, and chicken.
“Maddison! Come help me set the table for us and our guest please,” I shouted from the kitchen when I was almost finished, and I heard her shout something back.
I brought plates of food over as Maddison put forks on the table. Devon was still sitting on the couch, but he was watching Maddie and I work with wide eyes. Grinning, I bumped my hip with Maddison’s and called out to him. “Come sit, kiddo. Dinner’s ready.”
Devon grinned and bounded over to where Maddison and I were getting ready to sit down around the dinner table. Sitting down with us, it looked like he’d never had a home cooked meal in his life. I was a little unsure at first about making dinner because I knew kids could be picky, but Devon picked up his fork and happily ate what was in front of him. Halfway through dinner, the doorbell rang.
“Sit tight, you guys,” I said, standing up to answer the door.
When I opened it, Harry was there, looking more frazzled than I’d ever seen him. Even though it was Saturday afternoon, he was dressed in a pair of dark green dress pants and white button down, much in the same way I’d seen him a few weeks ago. The minute I opened the door, he started rambling through an apology and something about being at a work event and it wasn’t his turn to have Devon this weekend and so on.
“It’s fine, Harry,” I told him, opening the door a little wider. “Would you like to come in? Devon’s finishing up dinner, hope that’s okay.”
He stopped his rambling and just stood on my front porch for a few seconds. He looked confused, I thought. I suppose after our last interaction, the way I was acting now might have been cause for confusion. But we were both parents, and young ones at that, I could understand running late for pickup, especially now that I knew a little more about their situation. It also made me feel a little bad for the shit I’d given Harry a few months ago, but that apology would come later.
I led him towards the kitchen where Maddison and Devon were still eating. “Hey, Devon, look who’s here.”
Devon lifted his head and beamed when he saw his father standing next to me. He ran over and hugged his dad, and I had to admit it was a very cute sight to behold. Walking over to Maddie, I leaned down to press a kiss to the top of her head and whispered for her to help me clean up the table. Maddison nodded and got up from the table, picking up the empty cups while I took care of the plates. Taking the cups from her and setting everything by the sink, I walked with her back to the kitchen.
“Well, we won’t keep you,” Harry said, his initial panic having worn off. But now I noticed he seemed tentative while speaking to me.
Devon frowned. “Can we stay a little longer? The movie’s almost finished.”
Harry sighed, rubbing a hand over his tired face. I wouldn’t have minded if they stayed, but it was clear Harry had had a long day today and probably wanted to leave. Not to mention the fact that Harry looked the tiniest bit afraid of me, which I kind of liked but mostly didn’t.
“You’ve had a long day, kiddo,” I told Devon gently. “And you know what? This movie will still be here the next time you come over, okay? Maybe you can bring over the lego set you were telling Maddie about too.”
He nodded and grinned a little, the dimple he got from his dad indenting his cheek.
Maddie and I walked Harry and Devon out. When we reached the door, I told Maddie and Devon to go play on the front lawn for a few minutes while I talked to Harry. They ran off, playing a game that only they seemed to know.
Harry turned to me, his face a mix of emotions. “Thank you,” he said when I handed Devon’s costume over. “And I mean for everything. I’m sorry it took so long to get here. Taylor was supposed to pick him up, but she bailed again, and I was on the other side of town—”
“It’s okay,” I cut in. “It happens, and Devon’s great.”
“Really?” Harry asked, like he couldn’t quite believe that those words were coming from me.
I nodded. “Yeah. I’m not going to pretend to know what’s going on at home, but I know now that he was probably just acting out a few months ago.”
Harry’s shoulders slumped and nodded a little, and I could physically see the way that their situation weighed heavily on him. Playing with his lower lip, he looked me in the eye. “Look, I’m sorry. About the Parent Night at school. You were right, I shouldn’t have said those things, I wasn’t thinking.”
“No, you weren't,” I agreed. “But thank you for apologizing.”
“Seems like I do a lot of that around you,” he said, laughing a little but it sounded weak.
“I mean, in fairness, I probably owe you an apology as well. My kid did punch your kid.”
Harry’s laugh was a little fuller this time, and I grinned with him. Looking at where Maddison and Devon were playing on the front lawn now, I was glad they’d made up; it looked like he needed a friend, and maybe so did his dad.
“I think we got off on the wrong foot,” I said, making him look at me.
“That’s a nice way of putting it,” Harry joked. “But yes, I would agree.”
I stuck out my hand for him to shake. “I say we start over. Clean slate and all that.”
Harry grinned, grasping my hand in his. “I'm Harry.
“Nice to meet you, Harry. I’m Y/n.”

Word count: 0.9k
warnings: teen parents, Steve being a really god dad (it melts my mf heart so I need a warning sometimes😭😭) uhhh idk
summary: just teen dad!Steve fluff
“Hi, baby girl. Oh, hi sweetness” you said as you scooped your daughter up, picking her up from daycare. She used to go to work with Steve since she was a quiet baby and was a bit too small to be around so many people and so many germs but she was almost a year old now and since about 6 or 7 months old she’s been in daycare since you could afford it.
“Mama!” She said and you smiled, thanking the caretaker that brought you to her and leaving. You kissed her cheek and said “did you have a good day bub?” She babbled something and you smiled, opening the car door.
You got her settled in her car seat and “talked” with her the whole ride to starcourt. You went inside and she was super excited to see her dada, running as fast as her little legs would take her. You chuckled and scooped her up, going up the escalator.
“Mamaaa” she whined and you ran a hand through her hair. You readjusted her so she was in a better position for you to hold her and said “we’re gonna see dada in a minute Amber. You gotta be patient”
As soon as she saw the front of the Scoops Ahoy shop, she kicked her feet excitedly and giggled “dada”. You walked over and he smiled from ear to ear as soon as he saw his girls. “Dadaaa!!!” She yelled, kicking her feet a bunch.
You winced, setting her down as Steve came out from behind the counter and she ran to him. He threw her up in the air a few times, making her giggle and squeal. “Ohh, I missed this face” he said, kissing her chubby cheeks a million times.
You walked over to Robin and sighed, shaking your head. “You know there was a time where I used to be his favorite and he would be that excited to see me. Now the little creature I created has him wrapped around her little finger” you said and she chuckled.
“Yea, she does. She eat every last bit of our caramel ice cream every day cause he can’t say no to her” Robin said and you chuckled. He put her on the ground, letting her run to the back of the counters and say hi to aunt Robbie.
He walked over to you and cupped your cheeks, kissing you softly. “Hi, beautiful. How was your day?” He asked, wrapping his arms around your waist and pulling you to his chest. You smiled and said “it was good. Both of us missed you, but Amber was dying to see you today”
He chuckled and kissed your head, rubbing your back gently. He pulled away and kissed you one more time before you both went behind the counters, and you sat up on that counter behind the ice creams and cash register as you kept Amber entertained while Steve and Robin dealt with some customers.
He turned around as soon as he was done with some caramel ice cream for little Amber and vanilla for you. You thanked him and then made Amber babble “thank you” in hopes that eventually when she really started talking she’d learn manners quickly from hearing them so many times.
“Airplane!” He said, making that engine noise as he slowly moved the spoon towards her and she giggled, opening her mouth when it got closer. She let out a little “mmmm” as she ate it, clapping her hands.
He smiled and she whined, wanting more. Once she finished Steve wiped her hands and mouth with a baby wipe and put her on his shoulders, talking with you about each other's day as she played with his hair, his sailor hat barely hanging on her little head.
“I can’t believe you had a baby with a child” Robin said, shaking her head as you watched him run around the empty mall, jumping up on stuff and pretending she was an airplane. You chuckled and said “at least he knows exactly what she wants seeing as he has the maturity of a 1 year old too”
He put her on the Indiana Flyer and she giggled, kicking her little feet excitedly as Steve placed his hands on her little waist, making sure she didn’t fall or anything. Once the ride finished, he scooped her up and threw her up in the air, and put her back on his shoulders.
Steve pulled you in, wrapping his arm around you as you walked to the car, keeping one hand above him to keep Amber safe. Robin always sat in the back when you drove her home so she could play with Amber, whilst you and Steve joked around and talked about your days.
“Is she sleeping?” Steve asked and Robin nodded, watching her as she slept with Robins hand on her little chest, her tiny hands holding onto her fingers. He smiled and said “she was so energetic today” “I know…Ms. Bella said she didn’t nap today, I thought she would crash on the way here” you said and he chuckled.
You dropped Robin off and headed home with Steve. You woke Amber up so she could have dinner and bathe and spend time with you guys. She kept falling asleep the whole time but eventually she was in bed, passed out for the night leaving you and Steve to do whatever you wanted.
“Dinner was delicious my love” you said, he offered to make you guys dinner whilst you showered and relaxed. You wrapped your arms around his waist and he smiled, finishing up the dishes and turning around. He hugged you and kissed you softly. “I love you. You’re such a good dad to Amber, you know that?” You said and he sighed softly. He looked at the baby monitor and said “I try”

𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬: church boy!mark, exhibitionism, degradation, praising, fingering and masturbation
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
“you really had to wear such a short dress, y/n?” your mom said with an angry look to her face as she rubbed her hand through the dress, trying to fix it and pull it down.
“mom will you stop? it's not even that short.” you fought back, pushing her hand away from you with an annoyed grunt, rolling your eyes.
the sky was blue and clear but the air felt dry and intensely hot, burning on your legs and arms. luckily that was the last thing bothering you right now as you scanned through all the people waiting outside of the church, engaging in cheerful conversations and adorning big smiles on their faces. all but you. you had been waiting for approximately 10 minutes but you couldn’t seem to find mark anywhere. you even noticed some of the friends he normally hung around with talking next to the stairs but he wasn't anywhere near. you were starting to get disappointed since the only thing that made these masses interesting was mark. and you would be lying if you said you hadn’t been extremely horny these past few days thinking about last time you were with him.
“y/n!” your mom called ahead of you. “you always got your head in the clouds, c’mon, the mass is starting.” you rolled your eyes and walked behind your family, dragging your feet until you were inside of the tall cold building where everyone was taking their seat. “you’re sitting with us today.” your mom spoke again, grabbing your arm but you were quick to set it free.
“no! i always sit with my friends.” you talked back, annoyance evident in your voice but your attitude was pushed back as soon as you saw your dad appear behind your mom.
“that’s exactly why. you always sit in the back and you spend the whole time talking and never pay any attention to what the pastor is saying.” his voice was low but stern and all you could do was cross your arms in disagreement and divert your gaze away from him. “so drop that attitude and don’t talk to your mother like that. now sit.” was the last thing he said before he sat down on the wooden bench but suddenly a familiar voice interrupted the heated family discussion.
“y/n can sit with me.” you almost froze at the voice right behind you, feeling his body dangerously close to yours. “i’ll make sure she pays attention and listens to everything my father says.”
you finally had the courage to look and face the boy standing behind you. his eyes that were once focused on your parents slowly looked at you and you noticed a small smile forming on his lips.
“oh lord, no.” your mom said, her expression completely changing and a nervous laugh falling from her lips. “that’s not necessary and we don’t want our daughter to cause you any trouble, mark” she patted his arm friendly but he just continued smiling at her.
“it won’t be any trouble at all, mrs. y/l/n. i insist.” you noticed you had been silent this whole time, quite frankly not even knowing what to do or say and you decided that was probably the best thing to do.
“well... if you insist then i guess there’s no problem. right y/d/n?” she turned to your dad for his opinion and he just nodded and smiled back at mark.
“sure. mark is a good kid and he’ll make sure she listens this time, won’t you son?” your dad said vividly.
“of course, sir. and i already know what sermon my father will give today so i can explain and help y/n if she doesn’t understand something.” you almost jumped when you felt mark’s hand on your lower back, and despite the simple touch, shivers went down your body all the way to your core.
“then go ahead, son. the mass is about to start.” was the last words your dad spoke before both your parents sat back down and mark pulled you with him by your waist.
he kept his hand firmly against your back and at this point none of you had spoken to each other yet and the silence was killing you. he brought you all the way to the back and to the last benches, away from everyone, and you finally set down as his dad took the stand in front of the church and the loud angelic music started echoing through the thick walls. you finally found the courage to look at him but his gaze was fixed on the ceremony, however you still noticed the slight smirk on his lips. you looked down at your hands that played nervously with the hem of your dress until your attention was brought back to mark.
“you’re not gonna say anything?” he spoke low, his eyes still not looking at you and although the temperature inside the church was cooler, you still felt your body burning inside.
“why did you wanna sit with me?” you whispered, focusing your gaze on the small little mole on his neck.
“you always make the most obvious questions, baby.” he chuckled and you felt your heart beating faster at the sound of the petname but you couldn’t help but look away embarrassed. it was obvious. you kept your eyes down and suddenly his hand appeared in front of you, a piece of white fabric sitting between his fingers and your eyes widened as you realized what that was. “you still want this?” you quickly looked at him and this time he was staring back at you, the smirk on his lips more prominent this time and you could tell he found this amusing. you tried to grab your panties from his hand but he was quicker to move them away, shoving them back inside the pocket of his jeans. “they’re mine now.” he licked his lips and gave you a cocky smile, staring back at you. “and i’ve been having a lot of fun with them.” you felt your cheeks burning and you were suddenly too shy to look at him. you heard him softly laughing to himself at your reaction and you couldn’t help but feel your core throbbing at the thought of mark using your panties to help him masturbate which only added more to your embarrassment.
you focused on the pastor but not on his words, you tried paying attention but all you could hear were mark’s words echoing inside your head. you almost jumped when you felt his hand being placed on the inside of your thigh, warm and soft.
“did you think about me too?” you felt goosebumps all over your body as mark whispered in your ear, so close that you could hear his breathing, a lot more steady than yours at this point. you felt his hand moving higher on your thigh. “did you touch yourself thinking about me?” his voice was raspy and his lips that were once close to your ear now moved lower to place a wet kiss on your neck and you couldn’t help but close your eyes at the feeling. “i know you did.” he placed another kiss on your cheek. “you’re a little slut and that’s what sluts do.” he whispered back in your ear and you clenched your thighs together in impulse, subsequently causing him to chuckle, his hand now squeezed between your legs.
“mark…” you whispered and it was obvious how weak your voice was compared to his, and you still couldn’t force yourself to look at him.
“shhh.” was all he said. “open your legs, baby.” he whispered and you looked around you first. everyone was still looking ahead, too focused on the mass to even notice anything going on between you two, the closest people to you sitting about 2 benches over.
you felt nervous with so many people around you but you couldn’t ignore the burning feeling between your legs any longer and something about this was exciting and new. you felt mark’s hand squeezing your thigh and that was your queue to slowly part your legs.
“open more.” he whispered again and you nervously looked at him but his smirk was gone and a more stern expression now took place in his face. “do it. now.” his voice was steady and strong although his words were only audible to you. you did as he said and you parted your legs even more, your dress coming up with it. “good girl.” it didn’t take long till his smirk was back on his lips, his hand moving slowly up your thigh and getting dangerously close to where you wanted him more. your eyes closed for a second as his fingers brushed over the fabric of your panties ever so slightly but it was enough to make you crave even more.
“please…” you begged quietly, your hand now holding his arm.
“please what?” he asked as his fingers brushed against the fabric one more time.
“please touch me.” you were starting to feel impatient, your fingers squeezing his bicep in frustration but he just laughed it off and you almost let a moan escape your lips as he started working circles on your clit through the fabric.
“i am touching you, princess.” he said back, his face still close to you, his breath warm against your ear.
“no.” you whined. “i want your fingers… inside me.” you whispered, your head falling on his shoulder as you kept your eyes shut, focusing on not moaning out from the pleasure but your breathing was starting to get heavy.
“right here? you want me to finger you in front of all these people, hm?” you didn’t need to look at him to know he had the cockiest smirk on his face right now. his finger pushed your panties aside and you almost whined as you felt him finally touching your skin, going back to drawing circles on your clit. “you’re so wet, baby. you wanna cum so bad, don’t you?”
you quickly nodded your head, whispering an almost inaudible “yes” as he started moving his fingers down your core and soon enough he was pushing two of his fingers inside you. you moaned against his shoulder and your thighs clenched around his hand which made him stop his movements.
“you have to be quiet. you don’t want people finding out how much of a slut you are, do you princess? or is that what you really want? people to see you cum around my fingers? hm?” even tho you shook your head no, mark could still feel you clenching around his fingers and that amused him. “look at me.” you slowly raised your head and your eyes stared back at him shyly, almost closing as he started moving his fingers inside you again, a gasp falling from your lips. “are you gonna be a good girl and keep quiet?” you nodded your head and your teeth sank into your bottom lip and this time you couldn’t look away from him, his brown eyes hypnotizing you somehow as his fingers picked up pace, and without even noticing your own hand went down to circle at your clit which caught even mark by surprise but he wasn’t disappointed. “fuck, you’re so hot.” he whispered and at this moment it was as if even mark lost control of things, his lips meeting yours in a passionate and messy kiss, causing you to let go of a quiet moan and it was as if that brought mark back to life again, his eyes scanning the room to see if anyone was looking.
“m-mark... i’m gonna c-cum.” he looked back at you again, his bottom lip stuck between his teeth and he moved his fingers faster, looking down and watching as you moved yours on your clit and he couldn’t ignore the pressure in his pants anymore, but that would have to be dealt with later.
soon enough you were throwing your head back on mark’s shoulder and he was quick to place his free hand over your mouth, preventing you from moaning out as you came around his fingers, your body squirming from the pleasure. when he saw that it was safe he removed both of his hands from you and you gasped for air, your head still resting on his shoulder and your eyes still closed. mark took a piece of paper from his pocket and cleaned his fingers. you were startled when you heard the loud bells of the church ringing and all the commotion from people getting up and picking up their stuff. you lifted your head from mark’s shoulder and quickly fixed your messy hair, panties and dress as you heard mark chuckling beside you. you noticed some people looking at both of you as they walked by but no one seemed to know what had happened. that didn’t prevent you from blushing though, as you realized what you had done in such a holy place. mark got up and so did you. your legs felt a bit weak but you had to pull through, especially as you saw your parents approach you.
“we’re not done yet.” was the last thing you heard from mark before he greeted your parents again.
“how did she do?” your dad laughed but mark’s expression seemed serious.
“actually i noticed y/n has some difficulties.” your eyes widened at what he was saying and you looked at him in surprise but he didn’t return the look, continuing the conversation with your parents that now looked really upset and really concerned which was never good for you. “don’t get me wrong, your daughter is a very nice girl but she struggles to understand some of the concepts and gets distracted easily.” you couldn’t believe what you were hearing. was he trying to get you in trouble or something? you were fuming inside and you were already preparing the speech you were gonna give him after all this, but the look your mom gave you made you more concerned about the one you were gonna get instead. “i was thinking that maybe i could have some bible study sessions with her. i already do it for some of the younger kids but i wouldn’t mind doing it with y/n, if that’s something you’re interested in.” it baffled you how polite he spoke in front of your parents when he had been calling you a slut just minutes before.
“mark that’s so nice of you, you’re such a good kid.” you rolled your eyes at the big smile your mom gave him. “but we don’t wanna bother you with our daughter.” you frowned as your mom gave you a disappointed look.
“not at all. it would be my pleasure to help her and it would make my father happy as well.” he gave them a warm smile that was quickly returned.
“if i had a son like you i would be very proud too.” your dad laughed, squeezing the back of mark’s neck in a playful way but the look of horror in his face almost made you burst out laughing.
“y/d/n, let the kid go.” your mom intervened, pulling your dad by his arm. “mark, how much would you want for the sessions?” she asked with a big smile on her face.
“oh nothing mrs. y/ln. i do it for free.” he replied but he was quickly interrupted by your dad.
“nonsense! we must pay you something.”
“it really isn’t necessary, i don’t charge any other parents for it. i’m simply doing it to spread knowledge and to help out.” you almost puked at so much politeness.
“why don’t you come over to lunch with us at our house today? you could start your lessons after.” your mom suggested and that was the first time mark looked at you, a smirk on his face as he saw the angry look on yours, turning back to your parents proud of what he had achieved.
“i would love to.”

Squad Leader Mom is pregnant!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
MASTERLIST
Since all the baby incidents that had happened with you, Levi or the cadets, Levi and you had been thinking about having one of your own, but you never actually talked about it. Then one night, as you were reading before going to bed, Levi sat next to you on the couch ready to have that talk with you.
“Y/N.” Levi called your name seeing that you were not paying any attention to him.
“Hm?”
“I want to have–.” Levi started but then stopped.
“What’s wrong?” you asked worried, putting down your book.
“Remember when the kids were turned into children? We said that we would talk about having a kid. I want to talk about it now.” he told you staring at you. “If you want.” Levi quickly added.
“Oh right.” you said mumbled.
To be honest, since you joined the survey corps – having a baby never was an option for you. For Levi, having a child at all was never an option, but since he met you, he felt like anything could be possible.
“If you don’t want to, it’s fine too.” Levi said.
“I don’t know.” you admitted. “I loved having the cadets around. It was a lot of fun and I loved them as kids. But a new-born is different.” you paused. “I remember my neighbour; they had one and it was constantly crying and screaming. It looked exhausting. Also, what about my job here? I cannot– I… I can’t go on expeditions knowing that our child could become an orphan.”
“I would never let that happen.” Levi assured you, taking your hands. “I know our situation is not ideal, but can you imagine how great it would be to have a tiny version of us running around. I like that thought. That maybe one day, we could finally retire with our own little family.”
“It does sound nice.” you smiled fondly at Levi. “If that makes you happy, then ok.”
“Really? Because I don’t want to pressure you.”
“I’m sure. We’ll figure it out.”
The more you thought about it, the more you were sure about your decision. You had the possibility to give Levi another chance at having his own family and that was what made you certain of your choice. The next few months were spent in bed with Levi. It was intense – Levi was intense which resulted in making the both of you exhausted for trainings and expeditions.
Eight months into trying to get pregnant, yet there was still no baby in sight. Your doctor reassured you and said that getting pregnant is not an easy task.
You get easily sick during winter, so when a week before the expedition you started to feel nauseous, you just shrug it off. Which you instantly regretted the second you felt like passing out in front of a titan outside.
Eren from far away saw you falling from the sky and did not hesitate a second before transforming and running toward you. He caught you in time from hitting the ground and Mikasa from behind killed the titan that was ready to eat you.
“Mom?” Eren tried to wake you up once Mikasa got him out. “Mom, wake up please.” Eren cried.
Every squad were running toward where Eren transformed, not knowing why he did it. Levi and his squad were the first one who arrived.
“Eren!” Levi yelled at the boy but stopped when he saw you in his arms. A million questions were running through Levi’s mind. He could not move – he wanted to see if you were fine, yet his feet would not move toward you. What if he saw a wound, what if you were already dead?
“Captain,” Eren cried, “I– I saw her falling and I came. She’s not waking up!”
“What’s happening here?” Erwin finally arrived. “Levi wha–.” he asked the captain but stopped when he saw you. “Is she d–?”
“NO!” Eren yelled. “She can’t be, I– I caught her.”
“What happened then?” Erwin asked a member of you squad.
“We don’t know. We spotted a few titans, and we were all going to take care of them. Then – squad leader Y/N was just behind us!”
“She is still breathing.” Erwin checked your pulse. “Levi’s going to take her back, and the rest of us will continue the expedition. You can go too.” Erwin told the cadets.
Every other squads were leaving the scene. Erwin slowly approached Levi.
“She’s ok, you can go and take her back.”
“Ok.” Levi breathed.
Levi slowly approached where the cadets where and took you in his arms. Once you were back, Levi rushed you to the infirmary. The cadets were all patiently waiting outside the room. Every one of them was worried, but Eren was even more.
“What if it’s my fault?” Eren said.
“You saved her!” Mikasa protested.
“When I caught her, maybe I squeezed her without noticing?”
“She is fine.” Jean shouted.
Levi was sitting with them, silently. After just a few minutes of waiting, a doctor came out of the room. Everyone stood up hoping for good news.
“Y/N is doing great. She just needs to rest now.”
“Thank you!” Sasha shouted hugging the doctor.
“Is she waking up soon?” Jean asked.
“She should be up in a few hours top. But from now on she should stay here as the pregnancy is already three months in or something.” the doctor said before leaving for his office.
“The pregnancy?” Levi repeated confused.
“Mom’s pregnant?” Jean asked Levi.
“Mom’s pregnant!” they all shouted excited.
“We’re going to have a little brother or sister!” Connie burst excited.
While the cadets were shouting, Levi was still trying to process the news.
“D– Captain!” Jean quickly corrected himself. “Can we go in and see her?”
“She’s still sleeping, I’ll go and find you once she woke up.” Levi said entering the room alone.
Levi was sitting next to you, waiting patiently for you to wake up. An hour or two later, the cadets could not wait any longer and came into your room.
“Please, can we stay?” Sasha begged the captain.
“Fine, but shup your months.”
A few minutes after the kids came in, you finally woke up. Levi was the first to notice it. He quickly stood up and came near you.
“Y/N, are you feeling ok?” Levi asked.
“Water.” you grunted.
“I’ll get you a glass of water!” Armin volunteered.
After drinking the whole glass, you instantly felt better. You asked Levi what happened and when he explained to you that you fainted due to the pregnancy, you started to cry.
“Don’t cry. It is good right? We’re happy about this.” Levi asked.
“It’s happy tears.” You confirmed laughing slightly.
Levi then left to bring some food. The second Levi left, Eren came and hugged you. Then very quickly everyone else joined the hug.
“You scared us to death earlier.” Eren told you.
“I’m sorry I made you worried.”
When Erwin came back, Levi and you were waiting for him in his office.
“Y/N’s pregnant.” Levi announced it to the commander. “Obviously, she won’t be going to the next expeditions, right?”
“What? Congratulation!” Erwin shouted happily. “That’s really great news.”
“Erwin – the expeditions.”
“Right, of course. Y/N, you have to rest from now on.”
“But I can’t do nothing.” you protested. “I’ll get bored.”
“You’re pregnant.” Levi argued. “You just have to take care of you by staying here. Erwin agrees with me.”
“I–. Y/N if you want to go home and rest, you can.” Erwin agreed.
“I don’t. I’ll stay here and work with you on paperwork, I’ll do everything as usual except going on expedition.” you stated firmly.
Levi knew how stubborn you were, so he did not continue to argue. What mattered to him was that you were not going on expedition. After announcing the news to Erwin, Levi and you went to see Hange to tell them the news. The scream Hange uttered was so loud that Moblit came in running.
“What happened?” Moblit asked worried.
“Y/N is pregnant!” Hange shouted.
“Oh! Congratulation!” Moblit hugged you.
The next person to know about it was Mike, then soon enough the entire survey corps knew about it. After a few days, you decided it was time to go and tell your family about it. You proposed to Levi to come with you since he never met them.
“I’m busy.” Levi told you.
“It’ll just be a day.”
Your parents used to live inside of wall rose, but as your father’s business became more and more successful, they moved inside of wall Sina. You had a brother in the military too. You joined at the same time – he was a year older than you – he ended up being first and chose the military police brigade.
The next morning, you and Levi took a carriage to your home. Your parents made you and your brother promise to visit at least once a month, and you both decided to visit the first Sunday of every month – which was today. You knocked on the door and it was your mother who opened the door.
“It has been so long. Ah, and you must be Levi, right?” your mother welcomed you in.
“Yes.” Levi answered.
“Come in.”
“Your brother is not there yet.” your mom told you. “Do you want to drink something?”
“Tea please, black tea. For the both of us.” you told her.
“I feel uncomfortable here.” Levi whispered once your mother was gone.
“Let’s just tell them the news and then we can go.” you reassured him.
Your mother brought back the tea and she sat on the couch in front of where you were. Your father was nowhere to be seen – he was buying groceries at the market – and your brother was probably still sleeping.
“I heard a lot about you Levi.” you mother finally said.
“Levi’s very popular.” you answered seeing that Levi did not know what to say. “He is humanity’s strongest after all.”
“Good, then I know my daughter is safe beside you.”
“Y/N is strong, and she doesn’t need me to protect her.” Levi insisted, “But that does not mean I won’t do anything in my power to protect her of course.”
“That’s good to hear.” your mother smiled gently.
Just when you wanted to continue to talk, the front door opened, and your brother and father came in. You brother hugged you, then went to hug your mother.
“Captain Levi!” your brother burst out. “You have been going out with captain Levi this whole time?” he asked you.
“Yeah, don’t be jealous.”
“It’s an honour to meet you.” (Y/B/N) told the captain, ignoring you.
Levi quickly started to relax around your family, and you were all chatting together, talking about the military and what your day looked like. After a few hours of discussion, you still did not find the right moment to tell them about your pregnancy.
“When are you going to tell them?” Levi whispered to you.
“I don’t know how to, it feels weird.”
“Do you want me to tell them?”
“No, I’ll do it. I can do this.” you cleared your throat loudly to bring their attention to you and stood up. “I came with Levi today because we had something to tell you.”
“Yes?” your mother smiled.
“I am pregnant.” you announced with a big smile.
“Oh, my dear, that is wonderful!” your mother cried happily.
Your family congratulated the two of you and asked a ton of questions about when it happened, and what you planned to do once the baby arrived. After telling them that you were planning on staying at the survey corps after the baby came. You would probably be less involved, but you could not leave your second family. At night, after taking the extra food your mother had prepared, you left.
“Why aren’t you guys sleeping?” you said seeing the cadets at the entrance.
“We were waiting for you.” Armin said.
“Is that food for us?” Sasha asked excited.
“No.” Levi answered. “Y/N is tired, so leave.”
“I’m fine, I’ll take the food to the kitchen and we can eat this together tomorrow.” you told them. “You didn’t have to wait for me, you won’t be able to wake up tomorrow.” you warned them leaving with Levi.
—————
The first few weeks of the pregnancy were going well – you worked in the office with Levi mostly, but you would also help Hange with their paperwork. Being pregnant as a survey corps soldier meant being able to have extra food during meals, being able to skip cleaning duties. You could sleep in late in the morning and no one would say anything to you.
When your baby bump started to show and you could not fit into your pants anywhere, you would go around in either dresses or in Erwin’s pants that you cut so it would not be too long.
When you were seven months pregnant, Levi started to become more and more protective of you. He would not let you carry anything, not even your food tray. He forbad the cadets to come even near you knowing how reckless they were. Only Mikasa and Armin were allowed to come and help you. Which obviously upset the other cadets.
“But dad that’s so unfair! I want to help mom too!” Jean pleaded.
“Fine, Jean you can help.” Levi finally accepted only because Jean called him dad which was one of Levi’s weak spot.
“Me too then!” the others shouted which only made Levi walk away.
When you heard about it, you reassured them that it was ok for them to stay around you. Around that time, you also stopped wearing your shoes since you could not put them on, on your own. You walked around in your slippers all the time.
Nine months into the pregnancy and Levi never let you out of his sight. He would rest in bed with you the whole time.
“What do you want to name our baby?” you asked him one night.
“I don’t know. I didn’t think about it much.”
“I was thinking about naming her after your mother if it was a girl.”
“What?” Levi asked.
“If you don’t want to it’s fine too!” you quickly shrug it off. “It’s just–.”
“I’d like that. It’s a great idea.” Levi cut you, “I just thought… I didn’t think you would like that name.”
“Of course, I do! What if it’s a boy?”
You both brainstormed all the ideas you had before falling asleep.
You were outside with Levi during his training sessions with the cadets with a book. They were all taking a break, so you decided to join them, but when you stood up you felt something weird between your legs.
“Captain! Mom just peed herself!” Eren yelled panicking.
“Her water broke you idiot!” Sasha yelled at Eren.
Levi was definitely panicking like Eren, but he would not show it. You took a carriage with Levi direction your doctor’s house. After a few hours of labour, the baby was still inside of you.
“I can’t do that anymore.” you breathed heavily. “Just take it out!” you yelled, taking Levi hand in yours.
“It’s here, just push one last time.”
You let out a last scream and pushed as hard as you could before you heard cries.
The doctor cleaned then wrapped the baby in a blanket before giving it to Levi.
“Hello.” Levi whispered to his child.
“Is it a girl?” you asked weakly.
“It is.” Levi said looking into your eyes lovingly.
“That’s good.” you smiled when you heard a knock on the door.
“Hello.” Erwin came in with Hange and the cadets behind him. “They insisted on coming with us.”
“We bought you some flowers.” Connie handed you the bouquet.
“My favourite, thank you so much.” you teared up.
“You idiot you made her cry.” Sasha hit Connie behind the head.
“Mikasa’s the one you picked the flowers.” Connie defended himself.
“I love the flowers you guys. I’m just very tired and extra emotional.”
“Do we have a baby brother or sister?” Armin asked.
“You have a sister now.” Levi answered. “This is Kuchel.”
“Can I hold her?” Erwin asked.
“Well,” you started, “you are the godfather, of course you can.”
“Me too.” Hange exclaimed.
“You, maybe later.” Levi stated. “In a year or two, so when you drop her, she would be fine.”
“It happened once when you taught us how to hold babies.” Hange mumbled.
They were all around the new-born while Levi was laying down next to you, your head resting on his shoulder.
“You have the best mother in the world Kuchel, you’re so lucky.” Armin whispered to the baby.
—————
One night, at the boys’ dorm, a few months after Kuchel was born–
“Do you think it’s weird for us to call squad leader Y/N ‘mom’?” Eren asked. “Now that she has her own, real kid, what does that make us?” Eren continued. “We’re just a bunch of cadets again to her.”
“Why are you always thinking so negatively?” Jean sighed.
“They’re not our parents.” Eren stated sadly.
“Can you stop being so pessimistic for a minute?” Armin shouted. “She is the closest mother figure I had since I was a child, so stop this. Plus, it’s not like ever corrects us when we do. So just stop, please.”
You obviously noticed Eren’s attitude changing towards you – you tried to talk to him, but he kept avoiding you. You asked Armin and Mikasa about it and Armin just told you not to worry about it which was not possible.
One night, as Eren was taking a walk on the training grounds, you approached him silently.
“Are you ready to talk now?” you asked him. “And don’t even think about leaving before telling me.”
“I’m fine.” Eren said avoiding your gaze.
“Eren.”
“Squad leader Y/N.”
“Since when do you call me that?” you retorted.
“It is your name.”
“If there is something wrong, you can tell me. I’m always here if you want to talk.”
“You have a kid now; you can’t worry about me– about us.”
“What?” you asked confused. “Why not?”
“Because!” Eren yelled.
“Because what?” you kept your voice calm and low.
“Because you’re not my mother! And I’m not your kid. We’re just a bunch of soldiers.” Eren cried out. “You have a real kid now, there’s no need to play family anymore.”
“Is that what you think? Is that what you all think?” you asked but Eren did not answer, “Eren… I may not be your birth mother and I would never dare to replace yours, but you are family to me. You all are. Seeing you all calling me ‘mom’ is fine, if you see me as a mother figure – it’s fine. Because I see you all as my grown-up children.” you teared up. “And that’s not going to change with Kuchel around.”
“You haven’t been spending as much time with us as you used too.” Eren guessed hesitating.
“I haven’t been sleeping much to be honest. Kuchel is crying a lot at night. That does not mean I forgot about you. Or you guys.” you turned around finding the rest of the cadets hiding behind the pillars.
“We weren’t spying!” Jean said. “We just… happen to be there.”
“I’m sorry.” Eren apologise. “I’m a terr–.”
“You’re not. You’re amazing Eren.” you hugged him which resulted in all the other boys joining the hug.
From the window of Levi office, he could see you guys hugging.
“See Kuchel,” Levi pointed at you while holding his daughter, “They are weirdos.” he sighed. “Your mother loves them though. I find them tolerable. I guess you can see them as your older brothers and sisters. You’ll grow up with a big family which is great. I’m sure you’ll love them as much as your mother do.”

RANDOM FACTS ABOUT YOUR PREGNANCY
Levi would talk to your baby bump when you were asleep.
You would be often seen with vegetables in your hand – always eating them as snacks.
You would cry for absolutely no reason too. The first time it happened, Levi was worried sick. You had dropped your apple on the ground and started to cry. From then on, Levi would just hold you tightly until you stopped crying.
The first time it happened in from of Erwin was when he offered you a new baby blanket. He thought you did not like it, but Levi quickly reassured him that it was fine. “I– I– I looove it!” you sobbed.
The first time it happened in front of the trio – Armin, Eren and Mikasa – it was because Armin kept talking about what he read about baby stuff.
“I will be the best brother ever!” Armin promised with a big smile. “No, why are you crying?”
“This is too much for my heart!” you sobbed. “You are too sweet Armin!” you hugged him.
“I’ll be a good big brother too!” Eren said hugging you.
Mikasa from behind pushed Eren and Armin aside before taking you in her arms.
“You both made her cry, I did not. Obviously, I’m the better sibling here.”
When it happened with Connie, Sasha, and Jean –
Sasha and Connie were walking in front of you and Jean.
“This Sunday is a day off; I’ll probably go and buy something at the market with Connie and Sasha.” Jean told you, “Do you need anything?”
You tried not to let tears fall but it was too adorable for you.
“Mom! Why are you crying? I’m sorry!” Jean panicked.
“What did you do you idiot!” Connie slapped Jean on his shoulder.
“Mom don’t cry, please. Dad’s going to kill me when he’s going to find out.” Jean realised.
At the same time, Levi walked in.
“What’s going on?” Levi asked.
“Nothing!” Jean said hiding your face on his chest.
“Y/N?” Levi said. “Are you ok?” to which you only responded with a thumb up. “Are you crying again?”
“I didn’t do it on purpose!” Jean hesitated, “I’m sorry…”
“It’s fine.” Levi said, “she’s been crying a lot these days due to the pregnancy.”
—————
RANDOM FACTS ABOUT KUCHEL
Kuchel first word is ‘clean’ – Levi is always talking about it when he is around her.
Kuchel favourite cadet would be Sasha. Sasha is only sharing her food with Kuchel and she loves food too.
Kuchel loves playing ‘to fly’ with uncle Erwin and uncle Mike – the giants of the survey corps.
You bought matching outfits for Levi, Kuchel and you which Levi secretly found adorable.

Fools Rush In: Chapter 6
Jungkook x Reader
Genre/Rate: 18+, Strangers-to-lovers, age gap!AU (reader is 30, Jungkook is 23), Angst, smut, fluff
Summary: You catch up with your friends and Jungkook shows you that he’s serious about the baby.
Warnings: None to note.
WC: 1.3K
Tumblr media
“So, how are things going with you and Jungkook?” Yumi asked as she settled herself down on the couch next to Jimin in your living room. Since you had decided to stay in Korea for the next few months, Yumi and your other best friend Jimin came to see you and catch up.
“Good, good,” you nodded as you looked over at her. “We’re uh, kind of seeing each other now.”
“Really?” Jimin gasped. “From what you had told me, you were insistent on raising the baby alone.”
“That was if she had to,” Yumi interjected.
“Exactly. And after I told him about the baby and he had a few days to think it over, he realized that he didn’t want me to have to do it alone,” you explained. “If he’s willing to step up, I don’t see why I shouldn’t give him a chance.”
“That’s all well and good but you don’t have to necessarily have to be with him just because he’s stepping up and literally doing what he should,” Jimin cautioned.
“I get that Jimin,” you rolled your eyes. “But I actually like him too. I mean, there is a reason why I slept with him almost four months ago.”
“It wasn’t just the good sex?” Yumi teased.
“No,” you giggled. “He’s just so...sure of himself and what he wants in life. Sure, he’s young and still trying to figure his shit out but he has a much better outlook on things than I did at 23, and I arguably had the world at my fingertips by that age. He’s funny and kind hearted and sweet, not to even mention how attractive he is.”
“You know, I don’t think I’ve ever heard you talk about someone that you’ve dated that way,” Yumi pointed out but before you could reply, there was a knock on your front door. Excusing yourself, you got up from the couch and jogged over to your front door to pull it open.
“Hi,” you smiled when you saw Jungkook standing there, two bags in each of his hands. “What are you doing here?”
“Brought you lunch,” he replied, holding up the bags. “You busy?”
“I’m just hanging out with some friends but come in, come in,” you waved your hand and he nodded before stepping inside, watching as you shut the door behind him.
“Come here,” he said and you stepped closer to him, setting your hands on his cheeks as you kissed him firmly. The two of you kissed for a few seconds before you pulled away, taking a second to wipe a little spit from the side of his mouth.
“Come meet my friends,” you told him and he followed behind you as you led the way back into the living room.
“Who is this?” Yumi smirked knowingly and you just huffed before you began the introductions.
“Jungkook, these are my best friends Sato Yumi and Park Jimin,” you said. “Yumi, Jimin, this is Jeon Jungkook.”
“Your baby daddy,” Jimin added.
“Yeah, my baby daddy,” you laughed, making Jungkook do the same.
“It’s nice to meet you both,” Jungkook smiled, bowing a little towards the both of them.
“Mm, cute and polite,” Yumi hummed in approval. “We love to see it.”
“I didn’t know that you guys were here, otherwise I would’ve brought more food,” Jungkook apologized sheepishly as he gestured to the bags in his hands.
“Oh, don’t worry about us, we were just leaving,” Jimin replied, motioning to Yumi who nodded before they both stood up.
“We’ll call you later Y/N,” Yumi whispered.
“Alright, see you guys later,” you said.
“Nice meeting you Jungkook!” Both Yumi and Jimin yelled out as they walked out of the door.
“You too!” Jungkook shouted back and once the door shut behind them, he turned to look at you. “Hungry?”
“Starving,” you grinned. The two of you decided to settle in the living room, and Jungkook emptied the bags that he had brought with him and placed them onto the small table that was placed in front of the couch.
“Wow, did you buy the entire restaurant out?” You joked as you sat down on the floor.
“I’m kind of a big eater,” Jungkook chuckled sheepishly. “Truthfully, I could easily eat all of this by myself so I bought extra to make sure that there would be enough for the three of us.”
“Three?” You echoed, breaking apart the chopsticks that had come with the meal.
“You, me, and the baby,” he smiled shyly. “I know that with pregnancy, sometimes your appetite can change.”
“That’s sweet that you thought of that Jungkook,” you smiled. “It’s true, your appetite can change during pregnancy and I just got mines back after all that morning sickness.”
“I was right on time then huh?”
“Definitely,” you giggled and that was the last thing that was said before you both dug into the food.
“How was your day?” Jungkook asked as he slurped up some noodles and you chuckled before answering him.
“It was ok,” you shrugged. “I’m still a little sore from the tournament last week so I’ve kind of been laying around and then Yumi and Jimin came to see me. What about you? How was yours?”
“Good, good,” he nodded enthusiastically. “I did the photography for an event this morning and then I decided to get lunch for us.”
“Sounds entertaining,” you chuckled as you took a bite of samgyeopsal.
“Eh,” he muttered. “Oh, I uh...also talked to my parents today, and I told them about the baby.”
“Really?” You wondered with a raised eyebrow.
“Are you upset?”
“Of course not,” you shook your head instantly. “How did they take it?”
“Considering the situation, pretty well I think,” he explained. “They’re pretty modern given their age though, so I didn’t think they were going to be super upset. They did say that they would like to meet you soon though.”
“Ok, we can do that,” you agreed easily.
“What about your parents?” He questioned. “Have you told them yet?”
“No,” you huffed. “They’re extremely traditional and I know that they won’t react well to me not being married.”
“Are they married?” He asked.
“They just celebrated their 32nd anniversary in January,” you replied. “My mom is super religious and my dad is a stickler for tradition so if I tell them that their unmarried daughter is having a baby with a man seven years younger, they’ll have a heart attack, so I’ll tell them eventually but just not yet.”
“That’s understandable,” Jungkook murmured and the two of you continued your meal with small talk passing in between.
Once the two of you were finished and had cleaned up, Jungkook opened up his bag and pulled out a small box.
“I got something today,” he said as he passed the box over to it and you didn’t hesitate to pull the top off of it and inside were the smallest pair of green Nike’s sneakers that you had ever seen in your life.
“Jungkook, these are so cute!” You gushed as you reached inside and pulled out one of the shoes, examining it.
“I noticed that you prefer wearing Nike’s when you play and after I got the food, I saw these in a shop window and just had to get them,” Jungkook told you. “They had a few different colors but since we don’t know what you’re having, I thought green was a good unisex color.”
“It is,” you nodded, tears welling up in your eyes as you looked up at him. “They’re amazing.”
“Then why are you crying?” He wondered as he reached out and wiped away the tears that had fallen down your cheeks.
“Hormones,” you blurted, making him laugh. “Seriously, I love them.”
“I’m glad. I wanted to show you that I’m serious about this,” he muttered.
“I see that, and I appreciate it so much,” you assured him. “Thank you.”
“You’re welcome,” he smirked, leaning forward and kissing you gently.

•ATSUMU opened the door with his daughter in one hand while the other had a huge blue balloon she wanted, hearing the click of the door you turn around and see your little bundle of joy running with open arms to you "mommy! I missed you" event if the two of them went out for an hour and a half, you really missed her too "aww darling! I missed you too! I'm your favorite, right?" she gave your cheek a sweet kiss with his tiny hands in your jaw "yes! mommy the best" at this scene, atsumu was long forgotten on the door, amused about what his daughter just said "and what about papa? he bought you this balloon!" he moved his hand to make presence of it, slightly jealous of you "papa is very good too! it's just mommy is always the best" you let go of her embrace, tucking her brown hairs behind her ear "why don't you go and clean yourself? I can make a choco milk!" she didn't need to be told twice that was already running to the bathroom " ‘tsumu you know she doesn't mean it, right?" pouty atsumu came walking to you "a know but a want to be her favorite now!" chuckling at his childhood behavior, you make sure to peck him before going to the kitchen, even after all this year's you never failed to make him blush "you can be her favorite tomorrow ‘tsum, come hug me now"
• SUNA had his daughter on his lap, paw patrol playing softly on the TV in front of them, you always tease him about how he is more into the show than his own daughter but he is quickly to change the subject, everytime "how was your day at school baby?" the little girl raised her head from his chest, messy hairs blocking her sight " ‘t was okay, I missed mom" his hand was already on the hairs in front of her eyes, using the hair-band he always had on his wrist just in case something like this popped out "and you missed dad too I like to think" she hummed before resting her head on his torso again, little hands roaming around his body like she was caressing him "I did, but mommy is my favorite so I missed her more... I'm gonna go to sleep daddy, wake me up when mom ‘s home" and with that she was out, leaving suna with wide eyes and lots of questions filling his brain, the clack of the open door scares him, even knowing it's you coming home from work, he was deep in thought "a penny for your thoughts, rin?" he sighs before patting the place next to him on the couch, you gladly obey and lay your head on his broad shoulders "she told me you're her favorite" you interlaced your fingers with his, giving him a little squish "you know she is just a child, right? she lives you so much, everytime you're away she only talks about you" a little hope came back to his eyes "really, she talks about me?" you hummed, assuring him he is the one of the biggest thing in his daughters mind "lots, rin"
•IWAIZUMI was playing with his daughter in the backyard, his hands on both sides her waist while he throws her up and down the air "higher daddy! higher!" her little giggle brought life to his ears, this kid was gonna be the death of him "I wanna fly! like the birds we saw in the park!" "that's very high, sweetie" she was screaming her lungs out, non-stop laughing, toothy smile on her face that had a little of chocolate that Hajime gave her after lunch as a secret between the both of them. to lost in their own world, they didn't notice your arrival, they were having the times of their lifes "I'm home! where's my sweet girl and lovely husband?" her eyes got wider than they already were and her smile impossibly bigger "mama! you're home, put me down dad I wanna go hug mom!" he placed her down on the grass and her little legs were running as fast as they could "mommy! we had such a funny day! we saw lots of things outside?" you could tell hajimd was a proud dad, his daughter being talkative and smart, she sometimes reminds him of tooru "yeah? and what else" "I was telling daddy I wanted to be a bird but I missed you so much! you know you're my favorite, mom" hajime's lips were pressed into a thin line while his brows got a little down, you could tell he was feeling a little insecure so a little assurance wouldn't make him wrong "go inside and change your clothes then we can do something together, how does that sound?" she went inside the house screaming he was gonna wear her favorite blue dress, you giggled at her cute actions "hajime, the entire neighborhood can feel you, she doesn't mean it, she is just a child, we did the same when we were her age" he went towards you and placed his big arms around your waist, placing his head on the crook of your neck "I know, but we were having such a good time" your hands came to his face so you could make him see you "and we are gonna keep having a good time! we have to make sure you're her favorite by the end of the day, come on big boy! we are in this together" and with that you started running inside the house, holding his hand in the way in, the feeling of love and pride fulfilling his heart, happiness and love could be described like this exact moment, he thinks
•BOKUTO happily took his son out, ready to spend a little ‘daddy-son day’ as he called them, sometime they would go to his practice or to the aquarium! to learn everything they can about the infinity of animals the ocean has. today they decided they would be going for an ice-cream then straight to the park to play a little "okay bud! what flavors do you want? one or two?" the kiddo look up to the list of flavours that were in front of him ‘so many choises’ he thought before speaking "chocolate and vanilla please!" his choose of flavors made bokuto think about the old days, when you would wait for him in highschool after every practice to go on a date, you always, and he means always, wanted to eat vanilla ice-cream, I didn't matter the occasion "you know, your mom loves vanilla ice-cream! what if we buy a little for her?" his little golden eyes were shinning at the mention of his mom "yes! she's my favorite so she deserves ice-cream for being a good mommy" mid way taking his wallet out of his pocket, bokuto stops, looking directly to the floor "I'm sorry, your favorite what?" "my favorite parent! duh" he tried, he really tried not to have an episode in front of everyone but his deflated hair was exposing him "oh, that's good! your momma is perfect!" "she indeed is, dad!" the laugh of his son made him feel a little better, but ache on his heart was still there; after both of them has their ice-creams in hand, they started walking towards the park hand in hand "yummy! daddy this is delicious! you're absolutely my favorite!" like that? kids changes of opinion that fast? either way, his heart was pumping with joy "of course I'm your favorite! let's go play and the we can buy more ice- cream!" needless to say, you had a fridge full of icecream that night and two sugar rushed boys
•OSAMU has one twin in either side of him, his little girl with two pigtails while is beautiful boy had a green apron on "I know mommy will love this!" the little boy exclaimed, his daughter quickly following behind "uh-huh! mommy always love when we cook for her" osamu was happy he had this life, he didn't expect to have twins the first try but here he was, bragging about his perfect set of kids to his brother every chance he had "yer mommy loves both of ya so much" the kids were trying to make the onigiri shape with the rice while giggling "I know mommy love us! she is my favorite indeed" osamu's heart skipped a beat after hearing is daughters words "ugh she is my favorite too! I love it when mama let us sleep with her" but why is he saying this when he lets them sleep with him too? "that's right! we need to make this onigiri perfect so she is proud" nervously chuckling to erase a little the tension he was feeling "okay, daddy keeps going from here, go set the table and change yer smelly clothes!" the kids were racing to their respective bedrooms, yelling how they were gonna be prettier than the other one. the younger twin was so deep in thought leaning on the kitchen counter that he didn't acknowledge your presence "samu, baby, I'm here, everything okay?" his features relaxing when he saw you, gently placing one hand in your chin to kiss you "everything good sweetheart, the kids just told me yer their favorite parent so am just thinking a lil" you were laughing at his concern, those same kids told you this morning that his papa was their favorite "you want to know something fun ‘samu?" he raised a brow before his hands found home on your waist, gently pressing your chest to his "what, love" your hand came to play with the hairs he has on the forehead "this kids told me this morning you were his favorite, don't take to seriously what they said ‘samu, they love you unconditionally" taking your advice, he pecked you before hearing little steps coming to the room "our alone time has ended angel, a love ya" finishing his words with a sweet kiss

Tumblr media
It all started on a beautiful spring day. Something had convinced you to go on an unprecedented early morning walk for some reason.
The morning air was cold but crisp. You were bundled up in your favorite sweater, and the scarf that your grandmother knitted for you was wrapped snugly around your neck. Normally you would be immersed in your headphones, but since today was already unusual you decided to forgo the music.
You walked along the banks of the stream that flowed next to your neighborhood. This particular stream held nothing but fond memories. You grew up here with all the other kids. During the summer breaks, you’d play out here from morning to nightfall. This was the place where you saw your first fireflies, and where you won your first fist fight.
You stopped to sit on the grassy hill that ran alongside the banks, relishing in nostalgia as you took in a breath of fresh air. Everything is so different now. Everyone moved away to pursue their careers or to go to a big university. You were the only one left. Your parents urged you to go to college, but you refused. Who else would help run the bakery?
As much as you hated to see it, your parents were growing old. Managing the family bakery was getting harder on them. You were such a huge help to them since you basically managed all of the front-of-house work. They worked diligently in the kitchen every day to create the best baked goods in town.
You had always dreamt of leaving this small town. You’ve fantasized about attending a big university in the middle of a bustling city since you were a little kid. Unfortunately, that can’t happen now. You can’t leave your parents or the bakery behind. You held no resentment though, you loved it. Being an only child was a bit lonely at times, but your parents made you feel loved no matter what.
You laid on the grassy hill, watching the clouds roll by. Maybe life was better this way. It was simple, and you always knew what to expect. Day in and day out, the routine was always the same.
Everything changed on that day. That was the fateful day that you ran into him. Or rather, he ran into you.
“Good morning, ____! Where were you this morning? Why weren’t you answering your phone?” your concerned mother asked when you returned home.
“Morning mom. I went on a walk and forgot my phone I guess. Sorry about that. I ended up laying on the hill by the stream,” you replied as you sat at the breakfast table.
Living with bakers was probably one of the biggest blessings in your life. Every meal smelled delectable and you had access to all the fresh goodies you could desire.
“Wow, you were awake before we were? What a surprise. Here, tell me what you think of this loaf,” your dad set it in front of you.
You tossed a piece of bread into your mouth. The taste was savory to say the least. It was your father’s signature banana bread loaf, only this time with a small twist.
“Why’d you take out the walnuts? It’s still delicious though,” you said, devouring another piece.
“Well so many customers complain about having nut allergies now. I thought we could sell more if we take them out! You think we can sell this?” he asked eagerly.
“I think this will be our newest best seller!” you happily replied, “I’m gonna go open up the shop. See you guys soon,” you kissed them each on the cheek before taking your leave.
The bakery was down the street from your house, so the commute was only about 5 minutes even if you walked slowly. You brought your phone with you this time, so you were jamming out to your music, oblivious to the outside world. You were so out of it, that you didn’t have time to react to the person quickly rounding the corner.
One moment you were walking to work, the next you were knocked onto the cold hard ground. Your assailant fell on top of you, and you soon locked eyes with him. It was as if time stood still for a moment. He was the most beautiful boy you’ve ever seen. His eyes were wide with concern, and for a moment, you swore you saw stars twinkling within them.
It took a second to register that this stranger was on top of you, in a compromising position no less. You’ve never been this close to a boy since...well it has been a while. Your legs were intertwined and his nose was only inches from yours.
“Oh my god, I’m so sorry! I didn’t see you until the last second,” the boy apologized as he scrambled to get off of you.
As he helped you up, you reassured him that you were fine. You laughed off the incident and took the boy by surprise. You had the most angelic laugh he’d ever heard. He stood awkwardly gazing at you, before you asked him if he was okay.
“I-I’m fine! I’m glad you’re okay. I apologize again for being so careless,” he bowed.
“I’m also at fault! I wasn’t paying attention either. So shame on both of us,” you smiled to show him you were joking, “Enjoy the rest of your day, don’t run into anyone else!”
And with that, you parted ways. You forgot about the stranger as the morning rush piled into the bakery.
Despite being located in a small town, your parent’s were nationally renowned bakers. The bakery was always busy. That was part of why you loved it so much, you were never bored. The regular customers were your favorite. Most of the townsfolk had been coming to the bakery since you were little.
“Is this banana bread new?” Mrs. Park, the local florist, asked.
“Technically, yes. It’s the exact same recipe but without the walnuts,” you replied.
“Perfect! I’m not too fond of walnuts but I adore your parents’ banana bread,” Mrs. Park beamed, handing you a loaf along with other goods she picked up.
“How’s Jimin?” you asked as you rang her up.
“Oh he’s doing well! He loves it out there in the big city. At first, I was terrified of letting him go. He’s just always been so passionate about dancing, I finally had to cave in. He recently auditioned to be part of some fancy dance crew, and he got in! Can you believe it?” Mrs. Park began to dote on her son.
“That’s amazing! I’m happy for him,” you smiled.
“You know, ____, Jimin is still single. You two would be perfect together--”
“Long distance relationships are hard, Mrs. Park,” your mother interrupted her, swooping in to save the day. Thank god. You wouldn’t have known how to react.
“She could always move out to the city to be with him!” Mrs. Park retorted, not picking up on the awkward situation she created.
“I could never leave the bakery,” you responded quickly.
“Ah, yes that’s right. You have such a good daughter, Mrs. _____. Jimin never took any interest in taking over the family business. I’m jealous of you!” Mrs. Park said to your mom.
After what seemed like an eternity, Mrs. Park finally left. You were fond of her, but she never knew when to stop talking. Jimin was a good friend of yours growing up. You never wanted to admit that you had a huge crush on him. You figured it wouldn’t have mattered anyway, since he was so fixated on moving out.
The morning rush had died down. You took this opportunity to restock and tidy things up before the afternoon rush. The store bell rang, indicating the arrival of another customer.
“Welcome in! I’ll be with you shortly,” you called out from behind the counter.
“No worries, thanks!” the customer yelled back.
Once finished, you popped up with a bright smile on your face. Your parents taught you to always greet the customers with a smile as soon as they walk in.
However, the customer wasn’t facing your direction. He was looking at the baked goods that aligned the opposite wall. You patiently waited for him to make his selection. He kept walking back and forth, eyeing all of the baked items. You left your station behind the counter and approached him.
“Can I help you with anything, sir?” you piped up behind him.
The man jumped back, startled.
“I’m sorry! I didn’t mean to scare you,” you apologized.
“It’s okay! I didn’t hear you at all. You must be some sort of ninja-- Oh it’s you!” the boy turned around to face you.
It was the gorgeous boy who ran into you earlier.
“Hello again! I guess it was my turn to frighten you,” you joked.
“That’s fair,” he nodded, “What’s the best thing here?”
“Mmm that’s hard for me to say, considering that I love them all. What kind of tastes and textures do you like?” your customer service persona kicked in.
“I like sweet things I guess? I like bananas too…” he trailed off.
“We don’t have any bananas in fruit form, but we do have killer banana bread,” you beamed.
“That sounds good, but I don’t really like nuts so--”
“There are no nuts in our new recipe! You must be lucky, this is the first day that we’ve started selling them. Want me to ring you up a loaf?” you interrupted him.
“Oh no nuts? Okay, I’ll try it,” he agreed quietly.
“Would you still like to get something sweet as well?”
“Yeah, if that’s okay,” he nodded timidly.
“Of course it’s okay! My personal favorite is our milk pudding bun. The pudding in the middle is pretty creamy plus the bread is unbelievably soft! If that’s not for you, then we have a classic chocolate bun filled with, surprise surprise, chocolate. We also have…” you led the boy around the entire bakery.
You were too focused on recommending various breads to notice him stealing glances at you that lingered longer than normal. He patiently let you talk his ear off about the goodies.
“I’ll go with the milk pudding bun,” he smiled shyly.
“That was the first one! You should’ve stopped me from rambling,” you huffed.
“I wanted to know my options. Plus you seemed pretty happy,” he added softly.
“Alright, let’s go check you out then,” you headed to the counter, “I haven’t seen you before. What brings you to our little town?” you attempted to make conversation.
“Mmm, to get away, I guess,” the boy said after a pause.
“Are you in some sort of trouble?” you leaned over the counter to whisper.
“Kind of,” he whispered back.
“Stay right here, I can call the police,” you frantically murmured as you whipped out your phone.
“No no! Not like that,” he couldn’t contain his laughter, “I’m a fine arts student. My main focus is photography, but lately I haven’t been able to capture anything worth printing,” he explained.
“Ohhh,” you said, feeling dumb, “Then why come to a town in the middle of nowhere? You won’t find much here.”
“To an untrained eye, maybe so. But to a professional, beauty can be found anywhere,” he said proudly.
“Then why can’t you find anything back home? And aren’t you still a student?” you questioned.
“You know, I was really hoping that you’d let me have that,” the boy deflated.
“Aw, I’m sorry! If you ever want to take photos of the beauty that is bread, you’re always welcome here,” you smiled.
“I might take you up on that offer,” he said as he grabbed the purchased goods, “What’s your name by the way?”
“____. Yours?”
“Jeon Jungkook.”
“I’ll see you around, Mr. Jeon Jungkook. Oh! And if you’d like a tour of the town, I’d be more than happy to show you around,” you suggested.
“That would be nice,” Jungkook pondered, “Where can I find you?”
“I’m here every day. I get off at 3pm,” you answered.
“Cool. I’ll drop by tomorrow, if that’s okay?”
“Sure! See you then!” you waved goodbye.
“Who was that?” your mother asked when the boy left.
“Some photography student that said he wanted to get away for some inspiration. I offered to give him a tour tomorrow after work,” you explained.
“Do you want me to come with you?” your dad offered.
“I’ll be fine on my own, thanks,” you quickly turned him down.
Tumblr media
You spent the next morning frantically flip flopping between outfits. Should you go with a pretty top paired with a skirt? Or perhaps keep it casual with a t-shirt and jeans? Or should you go with a simple dress? You know you’re supposed to be a tour guide, but you still wanted to look somewhat presentable. You settled for the dress. It gave off a “cute but not trying too hard” type of vibe.
Time seemed to slowly drag on as you waited for Jungkook to return. You had already mapped out your route, making sure it was efficient (not like there’s much to see anyway). You wanted to surprise him with a picnic at the end of the tour. Hopefully it could help show off the natural beauty of the forests and meadows that surrounded the town. As the clock approached 3pm, you began to wonder if springing a surprise picnic on a stranger was odd. Oh god, what if it was? You hadn’t had much interaction with people your age once all your friends went off to live their own lives. Panic was starting to set in when the front bell chimed.
“Hey! I’m a little early, but I can wait around until you’re finished,” Jungkook greeted you. You noticed a fancy looking camera dangling around his chest.
“It’s all good! Business has been slow today, I’ve been bored,” you admitted.
“Oh I see--” Jungkook was cut off.
“Hi! I’m ____’s mom. Did you like the bread you bought yesterday?” your mom materialized out of nowhere with a pan of fresh bread in her hands.
“It was delicious! Better than anything I could get in the city,” Jungkook complimented.
“Why did you batch a new batch? No one has come in after 1pm,” you aggressively whispered to your mom.
“I got bored,” she pouted, “Here, have one! On the house, think of it as a welcoming present to our town,” she motioned for Jungkook to take a fresh loaf off the tray.
Jungkook’s face lit up at the offer as he thanked her for the snack. His smile lingered as he took a bite, savoring the taste.
“You must have some sort of good luck charm; you’re getting even more free food later,” you chuckled as you plopped a wicker basket onto the checkout counter.
“Sweet,” he beamed.
You let out a small sigh of relief. It didn’t seem like Jungkook was creeped out by the thought of eating with a stranger. With the basket in hand, you led Jungkook across the town. There truly wasn’t much to see. Your family’s bakery was in line with the rest of the town’s shops. You passed by the florist, the cafe, the grocery store, and the post office within the first 3 minutes just by walking down the street. You added in little personal stories with each business that you pointed out.
Jungkook paused by the flower shop, in awe of all the beautiful arrangements. His eyes scanned the outside displays, as if he was looking for something.
“Need something specific, dear?” Mrs. Park asked her potential customer.
“Do you have Tiger flowers?” he inquired.
“Tiger… No, but I can probably order some for you,” she offered.
“Ah, that’s alright. I’m sorry to bother you,” Jungkook apologized before rejoining you.
“Did you wanna take a picture of that specific flower?” you asked him as you strolled along the sidewalk.
“Yeah, it’s my birth flower,” he shyly nodded.
“Oh nice! I don’t know what my birth flower is, but yours sounds pretty. Ah, here is the town square. Over there is the courthouse/government building/boring stuff happens in there probably,” you said as you pointed out the building.
“This is cool,” Jungkook examined a decrepit well that stood in front of the courthouse.
“I guess. I always thought it would be better if they replaced it with a big pretty fountain or something,” you mentioned as you looked down into the dark abyss of the well.
Jungkook said nothing as he began taking pictures of the well from various angles. You watched him frown at each picture he took before he tried to take another.
“Maybe you could take a picture looking into the well? I mean, you’d probably have to stand on it to get a full shot and your feet will be in it but…” you suggested before realizing that you knew nothing about photography.
Jungkook immediately hopped onto the well, disregarding the loose pebbles that crumbled away under his weight. Pointing the camera directly down into the well, he snapped a couple of pictures. He didn’t bother hopping off of the well before scrolling through the pictures he just took. You caught yourself staring at him, admiring his features. His eyebrows were furrowed in concentration, his lips were pursed, and the wind was blowing his bangs over his forehead ever so slightly. He really was a handsome boy, though he seemed to be completely unaware of it.
“How’d it turn out?” you asked as he climbed down.
“Not bad actually. Better than the angles I took at first,” Jungkook smiled with approval, “I’ll show you after I touch them up.”
“I’m excited to see! Also, this basically concludes the tour because everything else is residential stuff. Unless you wanna take pictures of random people’s homes,” you joked.
“I’m good. Is this where we’re eating? I kinda skipped lunch,” Jungkook looked at the wicker basket in your hand.
“Nope! I’m gonna take you somewhere special. Are you okay with a bit of light hiking?”
“Sounds fun,” Jungkook grinned.
“Perfect! Now it’s your turn to lug this thing around,” you said as you handed him the deceptively heavy basket.
You took him to the outskirts of town, where nature was left untouched.
“Is this where all the cool kids have their picnics?” Jungkook asked as you led him down an old trail.
“All the cool kids left this town a while ago, so I can’t speak on their behalf. However, this is where I like to have my picnics so take that in whatever way you please,” you responded.
It was a sunny day on the verge of being too hot, but the densely wooded forest provided enough shade to make it comfortable. Your parents used to take you on walks in these woods when you (and they) were younger. Of course, now the hilly paths and loose soil would only wreak havoc on your parents’ old knees. You’ve grown accustomed to exploring on your own. Bringing Jungkook along was a pleasant change.
“You okay with eating here?” you suddenly stopped, pointing over to a field just off the trail.
“I’ll eat anywhere, I’m starving,” Jungkook quickly nodded.
“I’m fully aware of that; I could barely hear the birds chirping over the sounds of your stomach growling,” you teased.
An old tree that was large enough to cover up the entire picnic blanket with shade proved to be the ideal spot. Jungkook set down the wicker basket that you assigned to him earlier, eagerly waiting for you to finally open it.
“On the menu today we have fruits as an appetizer, ham and cheese sandwiches in homemade croissants as the main course, and last but not least, chocolate buns for dessert,” you proudly showcased each item.
“I never knew bread could taste so heavenly until I went to your bakery. I’m happy I walked in,” Jungkook praised as he wolfed down his sandwich.
“It’s not my bakery, it’s my parents’ bakery,” you corrected him as you ate the fruit.
“Don’t you work in it nearly every day? I don’t see how it’s not your bakery too,” Jungkook insisted.
“I’m not the one running the business,” you argued.
“You seem to put in the same amount as work as them. Instead of baking, you’re handling all of the customers. That’s gotta count for something, right?” Jungkook persisted.
“Fine, I guess you could say it’s a family bakery. Happy?” you huffed, clearly annoyed.
“Hey, I wasn’t trying to make you angry. I’m sorry if I overstepped,” Jungkook apologized, putting his sandwich down, “I wanted to let you know how much I love your family’s bread, that’s all.”
“No, it’s fine. I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have snapped at you. It’s just…” your trailed off as you gazed at the blue sky.
“I don’t want to pry, but I’m happy to sit here and listen,” Jungkook offered.
“I don’t want to scare you away by dumping my personal issues on you,” you tried to lighten the mood.
“I don’t think you could do that, ____,” Jungkook assured you.
Your eyes widened ever so slightly since he caught you off guard with his sincerity, but soon you gave him a soft smile.
“Fine, since we’re just sitting here anyway,” you caved as you picked up your sandwich, “I wish I wasn’t here anymore. Don’t get me wrong, I love my parents and I love the bakery. I just wish I got to go to a big city somewhere and attend a real university. I don’t know what I’d study, I just know that I thought my life would be different by now,” you turn away from him to hide your watery eyes.
“It’s not all that great,” Jungkook responded after a short pause, “I came from a small town too. The only difference was that it was along a beach, not by a forest. Wait, the location doesn’t matter,” he quietly scolded himself, “What I’m trying to say is that I did get away from my hometown. I was so excited to finally be a city kid. I didn’t realize how overwhelming it would be. Now look at me. I’m a senior in college with no direction in life. That’s what I get for choosing a career with no job security,” he chuckled as he looked down at the camera around his neck.
“But are you doing what you love?” you quietly asked.
“I think so. Are you?” he asked back.
“I think so,” you sighed, finally turning to look at him.
“I could always take you back to the city with me,” Jungkook flashed you a big bunny smile.
“Don’t joke with me like that. I hate getting my hopes up,” you playfully punch him in the arm.
“I’m not joking!” he yelped in surprise.
The conversation turned into a more cheerful one. You both spoke about your dreams, both childhood and present day. It was fun talking with Jungkook as you both watched the clouds roll by without a care in the world.
“Maybe you could get some pretty shots of some wildlife while we’re out here,” you recommended when the conversation came to a pause.
“Do you want to model for me?” Jungkook asked.
“Huh?” his sudden proposal surprised you.
“It’s completely okay if you don’t want to! Actually, just forget I said anything,” Jungkook looked down at the camera in his hands in a futile attempt to hide his flushed cheeks.
“Just tell me how to pose,” you smiled, already getting up.
“Uh, just act natural,” he said awkwardly as you leaned against the thick tree trunk.
At first, you made some silly poses that made Jungkook laugh. To be honest, you only did that because you really didn’t know how to pose next to the tree while making it look natural. Forcing a smile, you attempted to lean on the tree like as if it were another person.
“You don’t have to fake a smile,” Jungkook called from behind the camera.
“I don’t know what to do!” you called back.
“Act natural!”
“How do I do that?”
“Naturally!”
His response rewarded him a sarcastic eye roll, followed by a burst of laughter. Jungkook furiously clicked his camera as you laughed even harder. He praised you for ‘being in your natural state’ as he took shots from ridiculous angles. He gave you a thumbs up after he was satisfied with the impromptu photoshoot.
“Is laughing until I can’t breathe just me being in my natural state?” you asked playfully as you sat back down on the picnic blanket.
“It was authentic, so I would say so. I wish I could capture sound too, your laugh is so cute,” Jungkook said nonchalantly as he scrolled through the photos.
His eyes widened as soon as he realized what he said. He opened his mouth to try and take it back, or at least cover it up. He looked over at you shyly, only to see that you were digging out dessert from the basket. He let out a sigh of relief. Thankfully, you didn’t hear him.
“How were the pictures?” you asked, scooting to sit beside him after handing him the dessert.
“See for yourself,” he proudly showed you.
You were amazed by his talent. Even without editing, the photos looked like they were ready to be submitted into a contest. Everything looked so perfect. Your smile was genuine, the lighting was optimal, and your hair looked surprisingly good. You applauded him for his talent, to which he bashfully denied by saying he was still such an amatuer. You both finally dug into the desserts.
“These chocolate buns were amazing,” Jungkook licked his lips after he finished it.
“They’re my personal favorite! They’re also the best things that I can make on my own,” you winked at him as you finished yours.
“You made these?” Jungkook’s doe eyes filled with awe.
“Yep! Don’t act so surprised,” you pouted.
“Sorry, it’s just that you told me your parents bake everything. These were really good! Probably the best things I’ve had since--oh wait. You have a little something,” Jungkook leaned forward to wipe the corner of your mouth with his thumb.
You both froze for a second, in shock of this intimate gesture. Jungkook’s mouth opened to apologize, but you stopped him before he had the chance. Without thinking about it, you put your mouth around his thumb. You sucked on it for a second before you snapped back to reality. You started apologizing profusely the instant his thumb left your mouth.
“It’s okay! I shouldn’t have touched you in the first place,” Jungkook shied away from you, refusing to look you in the eyes.
“I don’t know what came over me,” you apologized as you grabbed his hand.
Jungkook looked at you with an embarrassed expression the moment you held his hand in yours. At first you didn’t realize why he was so embarrassed, you were the one sucking his thumb. But then, you noticed Jungkook sheepishly resting his other hand in his lap.
“Jungkook,” you said sweetly.
“Yes?” he answered, his eyes averting yours once more.
“Do you want me to do it again?”
“Huh?” he looked back at you with disbelief.
You made a bold move as you moved to straddle his lap, each leg settling beside his waist. You brought his hand up to your mouth and batted your eyes innocently.
“Like this,” you say before licking his pointer finger.
Jungkook gulped while slowly nodding his head, giving you permission to continue. His eyes stayed glued on you as you wrapped your lips around his finger. You dragged your flattened out tongue from the base to the tip. You then reversed this motion, but instead only using the tip of your tongue. You began to work on his middle finger as well. It was hard to fit his long fingers in your mouth, but you’re no quitter. Your tongue weaved between his fingers, adequately coating them with your saliva.
Jungkook’s breaths quickened the longer you went on. You felt a bulge grow between your thighs as you straddled him. Perhaps wearing a dress was a great idea after all. Your hips began to move on their own as you slowly grinded on Jungkook.
“____…” Jungkook moaned quietly when you daringly took three fingers into your mouth.
Rubbing your clothed pussy against his hard crotch spurred you on even more. Drool was dribbling down Jungkook’s arm and your chin, but neither of you cared. It just made you look more erotic to him. His other hand was on your hip to help you maintain a rhythm. You opened your eyes to make contact with his as you suckled his fingers. That’s all it took to make him come undone.
He quickly pushed you off of him as he cried out. You were both too shocked to say anything for a few seconds. Jungkook seemed too embarrassed to look you in the eyes again, his cheeks bright red.
“Jungkook, I--” you started to apologize.
“You probably think I’m pretty lame huh? Cumming in my pants like some sort of middle schooler,” he looked down in defeat.
“What? No, of course not!” you disagreed.
“Don’t lie,” Jungkook refused to believe you.
“Jungkook, that was honestly the hottest thing I’ve ever done. What we just did was hotter than when I was actually having sex,” you tried to cheer him up.
“You’re not lying?” Jungkook finally looked up at you with sad puppy dog eyes.
“I swear I’m not. I could help you clean it up, if you’d like,” you offered.
“I think that would make me feel worse. Just hand me some napkins and I’ll go take care of it myself,” he declined.
You packed everything up while you waited for Jungkook to return. He discreetly threw away the ball of used napkins into the designated trash bag, praying to god that you weren’t looking.
The walk back was quiet and awkward. Neither of you knew what to say. You were horrified with how you acted; you’ve never been so bold before. Jungkook was ashamed of cumming before he had the chance to do anything to you. He felt so pathetic.
“I’m sorry for making you so uncomfortable, Jungkook,” you finally apologized.
“Are you kidding? You think I would cum that fast if I was uncomfortable?” Jungkook looked at you with incredulity, “I’m the one who should be sorry. I’m disgusting and came in my pants while you did all the hard work.”
“You’re not disgusting at all, Jungkook. I enjoyed it too. I can’t remember the last time I was that horny,” you laughed.
All the tension in the air had disappeared. Jungkook bounced back to being his cheery self. The conversation went back to normal as you brought him back to the bakery. You hugged him goodbye and were about to leave when he caught your hand.
“Thank you so much for the tour. I know we’ve only known each other for a day but... would you like to go on a date with me?” Jungkook asked with a hopeful look in his eyes.
“No,” you said firmly, watching his shoulders fall, “I’d love to go on a date with you,” you smirked.
“You jerk!” Jungkook gasped.
You couldn’t help it, he was too easy to tease. After working out the details, it was decided that he would come pick you up on Friday night.
Tumblr media
Jungkook took you to basically the only restaurant in town (that wasn’t the cafe). It was a family run Italian eatery, and it took Jungkook by surprise.
“Is everyone in this place a master chef or something? This is delicious!” he praised as he ate his pasta.
“I guess it’s the authenticity of family recipes? You probably eat at more chain restaurants while you’re in the city,” you shrugged as you twirled noodles around your fork.
The date went on pleasantly. Jungkook wanted to know as much about you as you did him. The conversations you had were lively and fun; there was never a dull moment with him. Something about him just automatically clicked with you.
“What’s your favorite thing to photograph?” you asked.
“I like taking pictures of landscapes and buildings. That’s why I was super excited about going to a university in the city. It’s a lot easier than taking pictures of people! Unfortunately, that’s where the money is right now,” he explained.
“You don’t like taking pictures of people?”
“Not really, no,” he answered bluntly.
“Then why did you ask me to model for you?” you were genuinely curious.
Jungkook froze in his seat. He took a long sip of his drink before answering you.
“For practice, I suppose,” he said softly.
“I’m happy I was able to help then,” you smiled, thinking nothing of it.
Jungkook seemed grateful that you didn’t press for more details, and was soon coaxed out of his shy shell once the topic of anime came around. You were happy that he took you out on a proper date, you hadn’t been on one in so long.
He walked you back under the pale moonlight. You were admiring the twinkling stars when you realized that Jungkook hadn’t said anything in a while. His hand awkwardly brushed against yours when you first left the restaurant, but you didn’t think much of it. Jungkook seemed to be thinking hard about something as he walked alongside you. You were going to say something when the back of his hand brushed against yours again. He instantly pulled away and uttered a small “sorry”.
“What’s wrong, Jungkook?” you were worried now, you thought the date went well.
“Nothing…,” his voice trailed off as he looked away.
You interlocked his pinky with yours without a word. Jungkook looked over at you with surprise, but said nothing. He admonished himself for not committing to hold your hand, but he was happy with this too. In fact, he thought it was cuter than actual hand holding.
You arrived in front of your house. Bidding Jungkook goodnight, you went in for a hug. Jungkook also went in for a hug, but he leaned the same way you did. In a quick bumble, your lips grazed the corner of Jungkook’s, causing you to jump back. You stood in Jungkook’s arms, looking away in embarrassment. He brought up one of his hands to cup your cheek, forcing you to look back at him. His eyes sparkled under the moonlight as he gazed into yours.
Slowly, you found yourself leaning forward. Jungkook met you in the middle, his lips finding yours. It was a tender kiss, sweet and soft. You broke it off after a couple seconds to giggle, but Jungkook pulled you back into it. He kissed you gently, yet with so much passion. You reciprocated his affection as your fingers intertwined with his hair, deepening the kiss.
He finally pulled away, smiling back at you. To be honest, you wish it lasted longer. However, you knew you would have had a hard time controlling yourself if it did.
“Thank you for dinner,” you thanked him with a soft voice.
“Of course, thank you for accompanying me,” he bowed like a gentleman and kissed your hand. You couldn’t help but laugh at his gesture.
“Too much?” he tilted his head.
“Don’t change a thing,” you continued to laugh.
All sorts of thoughts about Jungkook swam in your mind as you fell asleep that night.
Tumblr media
Jungkook soon began to hangout with you every day. When he wasn’t out trying to take pictures, he would be in the bakery keeping you company. Your parents teased him, saying that he better buy something or else they’d kick him out, but they never did. In fact, your mom would always sneak him some freshly baked goods.
After work, you and Jungkook would spend even more time together. It didn’t matter if you guys were exploring nature, cooling off in the stream, or just watching movies; you enjoyed it all. It was nice having someone to talk to for a change. Jungkook never asked to make plans with you, he just assumed you guys would hangout the next day when he said “see ya tomorrow!”
You knew you had a crush on Jungkook, but you didn’t know how he felt. Yes, he took you on a date. Yes, you’ve kissed. Yes, you made in cum in his pants (not necessarily in that order). You were waiting on him to ask you to be his girlfriend. You didn’t want to pressure him, especially when you knew that he’d be going back to school in the fall.
One day, much to your chagrin, Jungkook was helping you with inventory. You argued that he shouldn’t work since he wasn’t getting paid, but he smiled and replied that spending time with you was all the payment he needed. You were too flustered to argue after that.
“Great, everything has been accounted for! Can you help me put this box back up there?” you asked him, nodding your head at a particularly high shelf that was out of your reach. You grabbed a step stool for him to make it easier.
Jungkook lifted up the heavy box of supplies with ease, and placed it back on the shelf. He looked down at you and smiled.
“What?” you cocked your head.
He said nothing as he leaned down and kissed your forehead, “You just look cute from up here.”
You looked away as you blushed, not knowing what to say. Jungkook laughed as he got down from the step stool. He teased you about it for the rest of the day.
Days flew by as it was getting closer and closer to Jungkook’s departure. You let Jungkook decide on what to do during his last day there. He picked you up at the bakery after your shift. He wanted to take one last stroll with you around town before he had to leave. You were about to hug him goodbye when he invited you over, saying that he had a box of popcorn he needed help finishing.
After watching a couple movies, Jungkook had his arms around you as you rested your head on his shoulder. Cuddling had become a norm between you two. Jungkook suddenly nudged your side, causing you to shriek.
“Sorry, just making sure you were still awake,” he giggled.
“I was, but now I definitely am,” you said as you returned the favor and tickled his sides.
It soon became a war of tickling as laughter erupted from both of you. Jungkook was just as ticklish as you were, making it a deadly battle. Before you knew it, you were straddling Jungkook, gripping both of his wrists in your hands. You both stared at each other as the laughter subsided, now replaced with heavy breathing.
“You could easily knock me over, you know,” you said as you lowered your nose to his.
“What if I don’t want to?” he whispered back.
He moved his head upwards to kiss you, catching you by surprise. You kissed him back, pushing him back down. You lowered your hips to rest on his hardened crotch. You let go of his wrists to help him take off his shirt before removing your own.
Once your lips connected again, Jungkook’s hands moved freely over your body, gently caressing your breasts. He treated you so tenderly, it made you even hornier. Your hands reached down to unzip his pants.
“Is this okay?” you paused to ask.
“Only if you take off your pants too,” he answered with a smirk.
Soon enough you were both down to just your underwear. You palmed Jungkook’s erection, curious to see it. It already felt huge in comparison to your hands.
“I want to fuck you, _____,” Jungkook groaned as you kissed his neck.
“I’m glad we want the same thing. Where do you want me?” you cooed.
“Like this is fine,” he quickly answered.
He helped you take off his underwear, revealing his massive dick. Your pussy clenched at the sight of it. You wriggled out of your panties and positioned yourself on top of him.
“Ready?” you asked.
Jungkook just nodded, his eyes wide with anticipation. He gulped as he watched you slowly lower yourself onto him, taking in each inch slowly. You moaned as he went deeper and deeper in you. You hadn’t had sex in a long time (and admittedly it wasn’t very good). Now, you were sopping wet and Jungkook was filling you up perfectly. Once you reached the base of his dick, you took your time going back up.
From the look on Jungkook’s face, he was in pure bliss. You continued to tease him as you fucked him slowly. You transitioned from taking his entire length to just swiveling around his tip, making him moan from the overstimulation. Jungkook dug his nails into your lower back, begging you to take all of him in again.
You leaned back over and peppered kisses along his chest and up his neck. Jungkook whimpered at the sensation, his breathing grew uneven. You giggled at him as you suckled on his neck, leaving wet kisses in your wake. Once you had enough of teasing him, you slammed back down onto him, and both your moans filled the room. Your hips began to move faster as you bounced on top of him. Jungkook’s grip on you tightened.
“I--I’m gonna cum,” he panicked.
You immediately hopped off, hoping to edge him. He whimpered at the loss of your warm pussy, but your plan seemed to work. His eyes begged you to get back on top.
“Now it’s your turn to fuck me,” you demanded as you laid down on your back.
Jungkook complied and positioned himself between your legs. He bent over to kiss you while he pushed his cock back inside of you. He took his time at first, but then tried to pick up the pace. His movements were awkward and stiff, and his pelvis hit your hips in a way that you knew they were going to bruise later.
“Jungkook, just relax,” you commanded.
Jungkook steadied his breathing and took your advice. He was finally able to find a rhythm and stuck to it. Luckily, it was the perfect rhythm for you as he continuously grazed your g-spot. Jungkook moaned with every stroke as your warm insides squeezed around him. You wrapped your legs around him, bringing him even closer. You looked up at him to see that the usual sweet star filled doe eyes of his had switched to a version of pure ecstasy as he gazed down at you with blown out pupils. The change was a little jarring, but also incredibly sexy when you realized the potential duality Jungkook could have. You pulled him into a deep kiss, tongues exploring foreign regions as he pounded into you.
“I’m gonna--,” his breath hitched.
“Cum on me baby,” you panted as you furiously rubbed your clit, desperate to cum with him.
With perfect timing, Jungkook got to feel you cum around him for a few seconds before he had to pull out and finish all over your chest. He gave you a quick peck on the cheek before scurrying off to find something to clean you with.
He rested his head on your chest as you held him close. You were falling asleep when he said something.
“Sorry, what did you say?” you asked him since you barely heard him.
“I am, well I guess was, a virgin,” Jungkook admitted.
“Oh,” you tried to mask your surprise.
“I didn’t wanna say anything. I mean, how lame is it that I’m a college senior and have never gotten laid. You’re probably surprised huh? I’m not lying, I swear.”
“I am surprised, but only because you seem like ladies would be all over you. You’re so handsome, funny, charming--”
“Yes yes keep going,” Jungkook joked.
“--and a genuinely good guy. Plus I feel like being a photographer would help you meet a lot of pretty girls,” you reasoned.
“While all of that is true, the real reason is pretty embarrassing. I’m...I’ve always been kinda scared of girls,” Jungkook sighed as you tried to suppress your laughter, “I’m not kidding! I always get so nervous around girls, I could never actually talk to them.”
“So am I not a girl in your eyes?” you teased.
“You’re a woman,” he answered cockily.
“Shut up! I hope your first time was enjoyable. Thanks for entrusting me with your v card,” you laughed.
You both continued joking and laughing the night away until you fell asleep in each other’s arms. While that night was enjoyable, it made Jungkook’s absence hurt more.
Tumblr media
Life had sunk back into the same mundane routines once Jungkook left. Of course, he still kept in touch. He would text and video call you as often as he could. He’d send you pictures of his newest shooting locations, and you’d always be the first person he’d show his finished products.
You loved witnessing Jungkook’s passion grow, he had a new spark in him that wasn’t there before. With your encouragement as an extra shove, he applied to his dream job. He explained to you that it was with an agency that would send him to a random country where he’d work with a participating magazine company. You secretly envied him for even having the possibility of exploring the world.
Days and weeks started to blend together. Your parents insisted on having you help out more in the kitchen, presumably to get your mind off of Jungkook.
It was a weird fling you had with him. However, it also didn’t seem like a fling. Most flings didn’t still keep in touch in a long distance “friendship”, or whatever it was you had. You were never officially dating, but it sure as hell felt that way. You cursed yourself for waiting for him to ask, you should’ve just done it yourself. Of course, part of you felt like you’d just hold him back if you guys actually ended up dating.
These thoughts constantly swarmed your mind. Ironically, the only time you weren’t thinking about your dilemma was when you were chatting with Jungkook. The end of the semester was quickly approaching, and you could tell that he was getting antsy. He hadn’t gotten offers from anywhere that he applied. You could do nothing but give him hope but assuring him that someone somewhere will hire him.
You watched snow fall outside when you got a call.
“I GOT IN!!!” Jungkook exclaimed.
“What?! Where?!” you jumped up in excitement.
“My top choice! The one where they send me to another country! Guess where I’m going,” he sing songed.
“Umm… Italy?”
“Close! I’m going to España,” he said with a spanish accent.
“That’s amazing, Jungkook. I’m so proud of you! I knew you could do it. When do you leave?” you asked.
“In a week. God, I’m so excited! Oh, my parents are calling. I’ll talk to you later?”
“Of course. Congrats again,” you cheered before he hung up.
Before you knew it, you were crying. You were honestly happy for Jungkook, but reality hit you. You were never going to be able to tell him that you loved him. You were never going to be with him, not while you’re stuck in this town. It sucked, but you had no choice but to accept that.
Two days had passed since that phone call. Jungkook was probably busy packing and working out minor details, so you stayed out of his way. You figured things would probably be like this from now on. Why would he bother talking to a small town girl while he’s out exploring the world?
You were restocking the milk puddings rolls when the front bell chimed.
“I’ll be with you in a second,” you called out.
“No worries, I’ll wait all day if I have to,” a familiar voice responded.
You dropped the rolls as you turned around with lightning fast speed. Jungkook stood at the doorway, beaming a big bunny smile at you. You ran to him, embracing him in a tight hug. He wrapped his arms around you and kissed your forehead.
“Surprise,” he smiled.
“What are you doing here?” you asked as you wiped tears from your eyes.
“I needed to see you. I was planning on coming back and surprising you even before I left. You didn’t think I’d leave without saying goodbye, did you?” he ruffled your hair, “Oh, and those tiger flowers are beautiful,” he nodded over to the flower bouquet on the checkout counter.
“I got them because they reminded me of you,” you blushed, your ears turning red.
“Did I hear Jungkook?” you mom poked her head out of the kitchen, “Oh my goodness! Honey look! Jungkook is back!” she called your dad.
Your parents came out to greet him. He explained everything to them, and they congratulated him.
“How long will you be here? Aren’t you leaving soon?” your dad inquired.
“I leave tomorrow night. I wish I could stay longer,” Jungkook answered solemnly.
“____ suddenly doesn’t have to work until after you’ve left,” your mom smiled fondly at you.
Your eyes lit up as you kissed your parents on the cheek to thank them. After grabbing your jacket, you took Jungkook’s hand and dragged him out. You both aimlessly walked around the town as you chatted. He went more in depth with the details of his job. He was most excited about capturing photos of the city. After looking up some pictures of the architecture, he immediately fell in love with Madrid.
Jungkook invited you over to watch some of the short films he worked on over the past semester. While they were just videos of his friends with no plot, you could feel their friendship seeping through the screen. The way Jungkook played with music and colors really enhanced the already well shot video. You felt at peace sitting beside Jungkook on his bed as he showed you all his past projects. Part of you wished that this moment would never end.
“You’ve made me a better person, you know,” Jungkook said out of nowhere, “I’m more talkative around my friends, and I’ve gotten more comfortable with being myself.”
“I didn’t do anything, that’s all you,” you smiled as you poked his chest.
“You definitely helped,” he ran his fingers through your hair, “I love you, ____.”
Your heart skipped a beat.
“I love you too. I thought I’d never get to say that,” you said with a sigh of relief.
He looked into your eyes before leaning forward slowly. You’ve been waiting for this moment for so long, you practically pounced on him. You kissed him passionately, as if to show him how much you missed him. Clothes were thrown in every direction leading to bare skin being exposed.
Jungkook’s soft hands roamed across your body as if he were trying to memorize your every curve. His touch was a bit rougher than the last time, his lips crashed against yours as he pinched your nipples. You couldn’t tell if it was desperation, carnal lust, or just a new side of Jungkook, but you didn’t mind in the slightest. His erection pressed against your thigh as your hands tangled themselves in his dark hair. You reached down to grab his cock, gripping from the base and slowly dragging your hand to the tip and then back down. He shuddered at the sensation, moaning into your mouth.
“Should I get on top?” you batted your eyes.
“Nope, I have a better idea,” Jungkook growled as he flipped you over onto your knees, “Can I fuck you like this?”
“Fuck me however you want,” you answered gleefully.
Jungkook rammed into you without hesitation. He firmly gripped your hips to keep you in place as he thrusted into you. His dick sent waves of ecstasy as he crashed into you. He surprised you when he reached his hand around you to play with your clit, causing you to squirm under him.
“Be a good girl and stay still,” he ordered.
His newfound dominance turned you on. He was no longer the baby boy that followed your every move, although you were sure that side of him was still there somewhere. You got lost in pleasure and didn’t realize how far gone you were till you felt liquid dripping down your inner thighs.
“You’re so fucking wet baby. All this for me?” Jungkook panted as he continued snapping his hips into you.
“Mhm, of course. Only for you,” you managed to moan out between thrusts.
“That’s my good girl. Get up,” he demanded as he hopped off the bed.
You obeyed, curious as to what he was going to do. As soon as you got off the bed, he spun you around and pushed your chest back over the covers. He slipped back into you with ease, groaning as your slick juices coated his cock. This new position enabled Jungkook to directly hit your g-spot with each thrust. Again, his hand wrapped around your waist to find your clit. His other hand found purchase on your neck, slightly choking you. The overstimulation had you crying out in bliss that you had never experienced before.
You were practically gushing now as your wetness ran down your legs and sprayed onto Jungkook’s thighs with each strong impact.  Jungkook lifted up one of your legs onto the bed, spreading your pussy.
“Now touch yourself for me,” Jungkook directed.
He didn’t have to tell you twice. Your legs started to shake as you played with your clit at the perfect pace while Jungkook drilled into you. You were sure that you had already came numerous times by this point, but you could feel the grand finale soon approaching.
“Jungkook I--” you didn’t get a chance to finish your sentence as you climaxed onto his dick. He was infatuated with the way you looked from behind, and he couldn’t get enough of it. He pushed you back onto the bed with your legs still hanging from the edge. He reinserted himself while you laid there, completely delusional from the pounding you had been receiving.
“You’re such a sexy woman,” he moaned as he anchored the weight of his arms onto your shoulders.
He continued his torment downwards. Your bountiful cheeks bounced back and forth while he repeatedly rammed into your g-spot causing you to release more of the juices his massive cock craved.
He slowed his pace but still kept going to help you ride out your high for as long as possible. The sensation of you cumming on him was enough to bring him right to the brink of no return.
“Can I cum on you?” he pleaded in a tone all too familiar to you.
“Please do,” you nodded.
“God, you’re so sexy,” he said as he gave you a couple more hard thrusts before pulling out and coating your ass with white strings.
Jungkook held you in his arms after wiping you down with a towel, both of your chests heaving in sync. You both managed to work up a sweat, but Jungkook still smelled amazing. He played with your hair as your eyelids started to get heavy.
“_____,” he whispered softly.
“Yes, Jungkook?” you replied with your eyes still closed.
“Come with me.”
“What?” your eyes shot open.
“Come with me to Spain. I know it sounds crazy, but I don’t care. You’ll finally get the adventure you’ve always wanted, and we’ll do it together,” he kissed your forehead.
His unexpected proposition had you overwhelmed. You were speechless. You would go with him in a heartbeat. It wouldn’t matter where you’d go, as long as you were with him.
“Jungkook...you know I can’t do that,” you fought back tears, nuzzling yourself further into his chest.
“I wanted to ask your parents as soon as I arrived but you rushed me out too quickly and--”
“I can’t leave them, you know that,” silent tears rolled down your cheeks.
“I think they’d understand. Plus, you’ve said that they’ve tried to convince you to go to college,” Jungkook was getting desperate, he thought you’d agree on the spot.
“They need my help now more than ever. My parents are getting old. As much as I want to leave this place, I can’t. I’m going to be stuck here forever. I’m so sorry, Jungkook,” you wept.
“It’s okay, ___. We can ask them tomorrow, how does that sound?” he rubbed your back.
“No, I can’t do that to them. You know they’ll say yes. I have to stay,” you sniffled.
“You’re a great daughter. I can’t force you to come with me. I’ll miss you. I don’t know how long I’ll be gone,” Jungkook’s voice started to falter.
“Don’t worry about me. Go live out your life. Eat great food. Take beautiful pictures. Meet pretty girls,” you tried to lighten the mood.
“You think I want to meet pretty girls? Why would I do that when I have you,” he hugged you tightly.
“We aren’t even dating, Jungkook. I don’t want to hinder you more than I already have,” you blurted.
“I...I know we aren’t dating. Not officially. But that’s just a stupid label. I want to be with you,” Jungkook’s voice softened to hide his pain.
“Maybe this was a bad idea,” you said as you got up.
Jungkook immediately pulled you back into him. Your nose brushed against his wet cheek, causing you to freeze up when you realized that he had also been crying.
“Please stay with me. At least just for tonight,” he pleaded.
“Alright. I can do that,” you softly kiss him.
You woke up the next morning with your head on Jungkook’s chest. Jungkook looked adorable while he was asleep, with his mouth agape and his hair falling messily over his forehead. You tried to inch away, but he just pulled you closer, making it impossible to escape.
He woke up with a yawn a couple minutes later. He smiled down at you before ruffling your hair.
“Jungkook, I’m sorry about last night. I--”
“Let’s not talk about it. This is my last day with you for god knows how long. Let’s just enjoy ourselves, okay?” he interrupted you.
Tumblr media
It had been three years since that spring when you met Jungkook. You sometimes reminisce about the times you had with Jeon Jungkook. It honestly felt like a dream. Communication with him slowly faded away, and now the only conversations you had with him were one message long during birthdays and holidays. You kept up with him more through Instagram. He regularly uploaded his beautiful pictures, and you could tell that his talent only grew. He had a knack for making dull buildings and streets come to life.
Your parents planned to retire soon, leaving you to tend to the bakery by yourself. They mainly managed the front-of-house work during the busy hours now. Their goal was to finally sell the bakery, but you protested against it. As much as you wanted to be rid of the chains that tied you down, you were scared. You didn’t know what you would do if the bakery was suddenly gone. It was all you’ve ever known.
Ever since your parents announced their retirement plans, you started to dabble in pastry making. They were impressed with your skills, and your creations got added to the menu. Word spread that the already famous bakery was now carrying delicious pastries, and business soared.
You were busy decorating your latest desserts when your mother came into the kitchen.
“Your father and I have to go run a quick errand, we’ll be back soon!” she said before giving you time to protest. You grumbled to yourself as you placed strawberries on your cakes, praying that no one would come in.
“Hello? Anyone here? The sign says open,” someone called from the front.
‘God dammit’, you thought before putting on a fake customer service smile.
“Welcome to--” you stopped in your tracks.
Jungkook was standing in the middle of your bakery, looking even more handsome than you had remembered him. His face lit up as soon as he saw you. You couldn’t help yourself as you ran towards him, colliding into him with a forceful hug.
“I hear you sell desserts now,” he grinned.
“Jungkook! What are you doing here? Your hair, it’s so long! And...do you have tattoos now?!” you were in shock.
“Do I look more artsy now?” he laughed, “I came to see you. I wanted to try your desserts too, of course. No one would believe me when I said nothing can compare to your family’s bakery. Oh, I have a present for you.”
You became giddy with excitement as Jungkook brought out a brown paper bag and handed it to you. You pulled out prints of a beautiful girl standing in a forest. Wait...it looked familiar…
“Is this me?” you asked as your mouth hung open.
“Yeah, these are the pictures from when you took me on that picnic. Would you believe me if I said I barely had to touch anything up? They were already nearly perfect,” Jungkook said proudly.
“It’s because you’re a talented photographer,” you smiled.
“That, and because I had the perfect model. How could I not ask the most beautiful girl I’ve ever seen to model for me?” he said as he tucked your hair behind your ear.
“So I wasn’t just practice?” you recalled asking him about it all those years ago.
“I was so nervous back then, I couldn’t bring myself to tell you the truth,” he laughed, “I’m much more open now.”
You promptly switched the ‘OPEN’ sign to ‘CLOSED’ and sat Jungkook down. You brought out one of your fresh strawberry cakes, eager to hear his opinion. His face contorted with pleasure as he took the first bite. He complimented the flavors and textures, saying that everything tasted like perfect harmony. You laughed together as he shared stories of his time abroad. He intently listened while you opened up about the struggles of the bakery.
“Anyway, that’s enough complaining for now. I’m happy you’re back! How long are you staying for this time?” you tilted your head.
“Depends,” Jungkook answered as he gazed out the window. He looked back at you with a serious expression. He quickly grabbed your hand and pulled you close, bringing your face just inches away from his.
“Do you still want to explore the world?” he asked.
“Of course, that’ll never change. But...you know I can’t,” you answered somberly.
“After everything you just told me, you still think you have to stay here?” Jungkook raised an eyebrow, “My next gig is going to be in France. Come with me this time, _____.”
You stared at him with a stunned expression. You thought he had forgotten about you. Now here he is, asking you to run away with him again.
“Why did you lose touch? I thought you had moved on. I made peace with that. God, it hurt like hell, but I came to terms with it. And now we’re doing this again,” your voice cracked as tears welled in your eyes.
“Honestly, it hurt me too much. I couldn’t bear talking to you every day or video chatting you, without knowing when I’d see you next. I never stopped thinking about you. I tried. I tried to forget...but no one could ever come close to you,” Jungkook cupped your cheek in his palm, “There’s a really good patissiere academy close to where I’ll be working. You could go there and sharpen your skills! Then maybe one day open up a bakery of your own...if you wanted.”
“But what about my parents--”
“Stop using us as an excuse to hold yourself back,” your mom scolded you as she entered the bakery.
“Did you like your surprise?” your dad winked.
“You knew?” you were bewildered.
“Jungkook contacted us a while back, asking if we thought his plan could ever be a possibility. I figured you were still head over heels for him since you never dated anyone else,” your mom shrugged.
“If you want to go, go. Don’t worry about us. We can sell the bakery, and finally retire,” your dad said.
“You have your parents’ blessing, ____. This decision is entirely up to you. What’s it gonna be? Will you come with me to France?” Jungkook asked again.
“I..,” you looked at your parents before your eyes wandered back to Jungkook, “Yes. I’d love to,” tears of joy rolled down your cheeks.
Jungkook got up and embraced you in a tight hug before he whispered, “I’ve missed you so much,” in your ear.
“Well, we better start packing,” Jungkook turned to your parents.
“Packing? Already?” your eyes widened.
“We leave by the end of the week!” Jungkook gleefully took your hand and dashed out of the store.
Jungkook dragged you through the town up to your house. You couldn’t help but smile as you watched his long hair bounce around while you ran. You could’ve sworn that sometimes they looked like bunny ears.
He was definitely Jungkook, but he seemed like the upgraded version of the shy boy you once knew. He had a new confident aura around him, and he seemed more manly than boyish now. Everything was happening so quickly, but you were nothing but excited for the adventures to come.
As long as Jungkook was by your side, you were ready to take on the world.

Bring Me to Life
Part Ten - Your Love is All I Need
Tumblr media
"All ready for today?" Y/N looks down and grasps Asteria's hand. She nods slowly and glances up at Y/N.
"It's going to be fun!" Y/N squeezes her hand softly and helps her onto the bus.
Asteria doesn't let go of Y/N’s hand as she walks down the aisle, staring at the other children who have chosen a seat already. She finds an empty one and climbs onto it and Y/N sits down beside her. She latches herself onto Y/N.
Today is a field trip to the pumpkin patch. Y/N didn't want to leave Asteria alone at the school, so she brought her with. She wishes Bucky could have taken off work to be here too.
"Have you ever picked a pumpkin before?" Y/N whispers into Asteria's ear. She shakes her head against Y/N’s chest and tightens her arms around her neck slightly.
"Is it scary?"
"No darling. We are going to pick a pumpkin, then go on a hayride and possibly a corn maze and oh yeah have the best caramel apples!" Y/N exclaims, trying to cheer her up a little bit.
"Are there green apples? I like those ones." She picks her head up and looks at Y/N with a pout.
"Any kind your little heart desires." Y/N kisses her cheek which brings a smile to her face. That's all she ever wants to see.
The head teachers take attendance of the students and then they are off. It's about a half hour drive.
Asteria switches to sitting on her knees, staring out the window with her face almost against the glass.
Y/N’s not a huge fan of going on field trips. The bus is so noisy with the chatter of the excited children. There never seems to be enough parent volunteer chaperons, so teachers or substitute teachers have to step in. The whole process is crazy because you have to calculate the cost and all the students and supervisors going, along with travel. Y/N gets anxious when it's time to leave because she’s afraid a student could be left behind. Y/N decided to volunteer for this one because she knew Asteria would love to go and she loves when they get to spend some girl time with each other.
Y/N always has these moments randomly during the day where she starts to think about how her life was a year ago. It was just her. She didn't have much of a social life. She never thought she’d end up with a daughter and the most wonderful boyfriend who is also the world’s best father.
She never thought she would see herself wanting kids.
She hasn’t forgotten about the question Bucky asked about seeing another little one running around. She’s thought about it every day since.
She’s good with kids who are Asteria's age. When it comes to babies, She doesn't know anything. She remembers when Finn and Hadley were babies, but she only saw them when she went over to visit. She was never by herself when they needed to be taken care of.
Pregnancy itself scares her. Bucky and her haven't even been completely intimate with each other and thinking of kids now seems way too fast.
She’s always had a plan. She wants to have her career for at least five years. Make enough to get a house and a new car. She wants to have a stable environment before starting a family.
But life just doesn't work like that.
Things can come and completely mess up all the plans. She never saw it as a bad thing. She’s come to realize how much She needed a change in her life.
Did She think it was something simple like cutting her hair or working out on a regular basis, yes. But it's never simple.
The things that really change who you are as a person are the most challenging, terrifying, disruptive, confusing, push your limits moments that you can experience. You can't stop them. They were meant to be a part of your life for a reason. Even if you deny them over and over, they will keep coming back.
Y/N’s life changed for the better. If a lot of people knew how Bucky and her met, they'd probably think she was crazy. But when she found Bucky and Asteria that night, sitting in his truck in the rain, she felt this pull to them.
She couldn't see into the car from where she was. She was about to get into her car when she turned her head to see Bucky’s truck. She didn't think anything of it at the time, but she couldn't stop staring at it. It felt like she was meant to find it.
Everything that happened that day, happened for a reason. And everyday leading up to it.
She’s become a firm believer that everything happens for a reason.
Tumblr media
"Okay, kids. Who wants to go pick out a pumpkin?" Y/N rounds up the group of eight students that she and one other parent has supervision over.
"Me! Me! Me!" They all shout loudly.
"Get in a line and follow me." Y/N turns around and looks over her shoulder to find the kids rushing to form a single line. Y/N feels a tug on her jeans and looks down to see Asteria. She smiles kindly at her and she holds her arms up for Y/N to pick her up. She leans down and grabs her, resting Asteria against her hip, with a quick look back again.
"Off we go!" Y/N shouts. The kids scream with excitement.
They walk past the haystacks and corn maze. It's slightly chilly outside, but actually decent for how close to the end of October it is.
This is Y/N’s absolute favorite time of the year. The way the leaves change colors. She loves wearing sweaters and jackets, curling up with lots of blankets and pillows. Halloween has always been her favorite holiday too. That's the time of the year where she goes all out.
She’s excited to have Asteria and Bucky to celebrate with this year. She doesn’t think Asteria has gotten to fully dress up or carve a pumpkin.
Y/N wants to make it the best for her.
"Okay, no one go too far but choose whichever pumpkin you want!" Y/N instructs the kids. They all disperse and run into the patch.
"Let's go look for one." Y/N tells Asteria as she sets her down. She grabs her hand and leads her through the patch.
"Can we get one for daddy too?" Asteria pats her hand against the pumpkin.
"That sounds like a good plan. I bet he'll love that."
"We get a big one for daddy and a small one for me and oh yeah, you need one too." Asteria rambles, looking around at all the pumpkins. Y/N laughs softly as she rushes over to a big pumpkin.
"Remember we have to bring them back with us on the bus."
"Oh yeah, okay. How about this one?" Asteria points to a medium sized one.
"Perfect." Y/N picks it up and carries it as she looks around for a tiny one.
"I like this one." She leans down and tries to pick it up. She huffs and gives up.
"Alright, now we need one more." Y/N picks it up for her as she finds the last one.
Y/N walks to follow her but ends up tripping over her own feet, not a surprise. She mentally curses to herself as the pumpkins fall out of her arms.
"Oh, here. Let me help with those." Y/N looks up to find a man bending down to pick up the pumpkins.
"Thank you." Y/N says to him as she stands back up on her feet, brushing the dirt off.
"I'm Paul. Jason's dad." He holds out his hand.
"Oh right, Jason is a great kid." She shakes his hand.
"Thanks. I actually was going to set up a meeting with you about him.”
"Oh, we can schedule one for later this week if that works."
"It should. I'll let you know."
"It's really nice that you volunteered to come today. Not many parents do anymore."
"It's always been a tradition of mine and Jason's to pick the pumpkins for Halloween."
"That's amazing."
"Yeah I-" He gets interrupted by Asteria running up to Y/N.
"Y/N, I found one!"
"We should get it before someone else does." Y/N says to her, glancing back at Paul.
"It was nice talking with you."
"You too. Oh, here, take this wheel barrel." He hands it to Y/N and waves goodbye walking off.
Tumblr media
The bus ride back was even louder than when they left. Once they made it back to the school, they had an hour before it was time to go home. Y/N had all her students share what their favorite part of the day was.
Once all the kids were gone, Y/N got the three pumpkins in her car before going to get Asteria from the day center. Y/N gets her into her car seat and buckles her in.
"How about we stop by the store first to pick up things to carve the pumpkins." Y/N buckles herself in, starting the car.
"What do you want to be for Halloween?" Y/N looks at Asteria through the mirror.
"Uh, a ballerina, or a princess!"
"How about a princess ballerina."
"I can wear a tiara and a tutu." Asteria smiles brightly.
"That sounds perfect."
They make it to the store. Asteria sits in the cart as Y/N grabs everything needed. Y/N helps her out once they get to the aisle where all the costumes are.
"Let's have a look."
They scan through all the princess costumes. There aren't any ballerina ones which surprises Y/N. She does pick out a new tiara and a wand.
They check out and make their way home.
Tumblr media
"Will you go set your new things in the living room?" Y/N asks her as she carries the bags into the apartment, closing the door. She nods before skipping off.
Y/N puts away the few groceries she bought and sets the pumpkin carving kits on top of the fridge.
"How does pizza sound for dinner?" Y/N yells out, feeling too tired to fix dinner.
"Pepperoni!" Asteria shouts back.
"Okay. Let me order it."
Once that is finished, Y/N walks into the living room to find Asteria with her new tiara on, twirling around, wand in hand.
"Bath before or after dinner?" She stops spinning, almost falling over.
"After." She says, going back to spinning.
"Okay. I'm going to change." Y/N laughs lightly walking to her room.
Y/N comes back out as the front door opens.
"Hey handsome." She smiles at Bucky.
"Hello beautiful." He smiles back. Y/N walks over to him and leans in to kiss him.
"How was your day?"
"Busy. I'm exhausted."
"I ordered a pizza."
"You're an angel." He pecks her lips again.
"I know."
"Daddy!" Asteria comes running toward him, still wearing her tiara and wand in hand.
"There's my pretty princess. How was your day?" He picks her up, spinning her around.
"It was awesome! I got you a pumpkin and Mommy one and me one." She tells him.
"Can you show them to me?" He sets her down.
"I set them in the dining room." Y/N tells Asteria as she drags her father by his hand.
Just as they walk off, a knock sounds at the front door. Y/N opens it to find the delivery man holding our pizzas. She grabs some cash from her purse, hanging on the hook by the door and gives him a little extra for a tip. She thanks him before closing the door and taking the pizzas to the kitchen.
"Come get dinner!" Y/N shouts, setting three plates and cups down on the counter.
Asteria runs in squealing with laughter as Bucky chases her.
"Asteria, why don't you go pick a movie." Bucky tells her, chasing her out of the kitchen.
"What do you usually do for Halloween?" He asks, grabbing the pizza he wants.
"I go to my sisters and take Finn and Hadley trick or treating. I was thinking we could still do that this year. Asteria would love it."
"I think she will have the time of her life. She told me she wants to be a princess ballerina."
"Yeah, I'm not sure what the weather will be like that night, but she has her tutu already. We may have to figure out how to dress her a little warmer."
"You always think ahead on everything. That's something I love about you." He admits, wrapping his arms around her waist to pull her closer.
"What else do you love?" She whispers between them, wrapping her arms around his neck.
"Your generous spirit. Your laugh. The way you take care of Asteria and I. Your passion for teaching. Your patience. This could go on forever, but I like to eat my pizza while it's hot." He jokes. Y/N laughs, pecking his lips and detaches her arms from around his neck. He doesn't let up his grip on her waist.
"I love how you love. I've never seen someone fall more in love with everything every day. I could watch the way your eyes shine, and your smile get brighter when you find something that fills your heart up with love. It's mesmerizing. Do you know how I know this?"
"How?" Y/N whispers, staring into his captivating ocean eyes.
"Because you look at me like that."
Tumblr media
Bucky couldn’t fall asleep. He’s been up all night with his thoughts swirling around in his head. He has so much on his mind right now. About the future. About his future as a father. About his future with Y/N.
He quietly gets out of bed, glancing at the two girls cuddled together under the covers. He runs a hand through his hair and shakes his head in disbelief. He constantly wonders how he got here and how lucky he is.
He carefully grabs his journal from inside his dresser drawer and walks out into the living room. He finds a pen and sits down on the couch, opening the journal to a blank page.
Y/N is the kind of girl you never see coming. It starts off simple and two months later you’re saying you are my world. She told me ‘I want to kiss you’ and I knew I was in trouble. The good kind of trouble.
I want to spend every night tucked up in the mystery of her mind. What is she thinking? What does she want? Is this enough for her? Am I enough for her? Does she see a future with me? I want to spend my days exploring every corner of her beautiful mind. I want to know everything about her.
She gives me hope in the world. That there are still good people that do good things for others. She gives me hope that I am good. I want to be good. For her and Asteria. And for myself.
When I look into her eyes, I’m in her soul, completely transfixed in her being. When she wraps her arms around me, I swear I’ve never felt safer in this world. With our fingers interlocked, I know we can take on the world together. Lying next to her I feel her magic, the kind you find in a girl who finds humor in everything. She kisses me and I sprout wings that takes me to a place of peace and serenity. Whenever she laughs, especially from something I said, it’s the sound I want to repeat for the rest of my life.
She heals me.
She feels like home.
No better than that; She feels like where I belong, where I was always supposed to be.
I wasn’t looking for anyone but she became everything.
She’s the kind of girl that can do that, change your life.
He closes the journal and rests it on his thigh. He never used to write anything down. He never thought he could be one of those people who feel better after getting his thoughts from his head to paper. He never believed it would work. Until Y/N showed him and bought the journal for him.
This is what he means. Y/N always looks out for everyone around her. She always knows when someone needs help and she willingly provides herself to them in any way they allow.
Now, his journal is like a huge dedication to Y/N. Words he wishes he had the courage to say to her but always gets too nervous. Maybe he’ll let her read it one day. Maybe not.
If Bucky can’t express in words what she means to him, then he’ll do everything in his power to show her how much she means to him.
